The staff were so friendly and relaxed that we felt very much at home. A whisky decanter + tumblers were a lovely Scottish welcome in our room. The room was beautiful and clean with tasteful traditional touches, like the chamber pot next to the bed! The breakfast was included and exceeded all expectations - fresh and expertly prepared - there was plenty of it as well to set us up for the day. Loved the whole experience and would definitely come back.

The only thing I can think of to feed back on is that the hot water in the bathroom (shower/bath/sink) wasn't super hot. It was warm enough to be comfortable but didn't go as hot as I would usually have it.

The food was absolutely incredible, and it had a lovely atmosphere.

The town itself was a bit dismal - this may be what to expect from rural Scotland in a winter blizzard though.

Wonderful. Perfect place if you are looking for a top break in the Scottish Highlands. Very friendly, romantic and excellent food.

The service and the food was fantastic and the log fire in the lounge made a very welcoming place to relax in the December evenings.

Elegance of Victorian house tastefully modified as hotel/guesthouse with stunning views over valley to distant hills. Excellence of breakfast choices and evening haute cuisine. Peaceful and comfortable room with splendid malt whisky provided. General hospitality and attention to detail is of the highest quality. The guest comments book is testimony to consistent excellence.

We were treated to a warm welcome, wonderful hospitality, delicious breakfasts, a complimentary dram which could be enjoyed by an open fire.

Very stylish - a little more expensive than some of the local competition but well worth it. Good sized bedroom with characterful furniture, comfortable bed and full-sized bathroom. Free tot of whisky in room (we didn't drink it, but it was a nice touch). Nice location overlooking the village but easy walking distance from the main street.

The only thing we regret is that our schedule did not allow us to take an evening meal there - the gourmet menu looked amazing and comments from local friends who have dined there is very positive. We will be back!

Ideally located in the heart of beautiful highlands landscapes, this charming hotel will bring you all the happiness and the comfort you want, in the morning with the famous scramble eggs with salmon, or in the evening with a glass of whiskey by the fire. Even if the scottish skies are sometimes cloudy; the sun always shines at auld alliance. Do it!

The welcome when we arrived was so friendly and that set the tone for the whole trip. The room was immaculate and the view was stunning. Breakfasts were delicious and filling and not your usual greasy spoon affair. Everything was just that little bit special. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, accommodating and go that extra mile to help and advise. The accommodation was comfortable, the communal area was beautiful, cosy and warm. The whole place even smelled good. Attention to detail from the dram of whiskey each night, to the staff remembering your names and details. All perfect! All in all an amazing place to stay, we couldn't find anything to improve even if we tried.

what i liked about the auld alliance, the location is extremely good, without traffic noise, the welcome was really nice and the short stay we had here was very good. i would return here if i was to visit the area again as it was a very enjoyable experiance.hospitality was very good and pleasant. close to the high street and in walking distance .oh and the driveway...........not tarmac but if people think this is really rough they need to slow down....its not that bad.

Everything. Food was expensive but excellant value. Malt whisky every night in the room as an inclusive was a wonderful surprise

The building is very sweet with lovely views. Breakfast is the best part, though, absolutely delicious. Sadly dinner didn't fit into our plans, but I wish I could have tried that too!

Oozing with French Chateau/Scottish mix of character. Attention to detail exceptional. Exceptional quality Breakfast with a wide range of choice. Nothing less than what you'd expect from a French cook perhaps! Quiet location and great views if the hills/valley.

Auld Alliance is an absolute gem, waiting to be discovered! Lydie is a most welcoming and interesting person, who put us at our ease very quickly, and looked after us supremely well. Her taste is immaculate and her design touches are spot on. Whilst, this delivers a chic ambience, it is balanced and comfortable chic, and in keeping with the style of the 'restaurant with rooms' and the location. We would recommend the Auld Alliance to anyone, and if we holiday in the area again, would definitely go back. Fabulous break!

Uitstekend, origineel ontbijt. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Ruime kamer. Goede ligging met veel wandelmogelijkheden direct vanaf het b&B.

Badkamer kan opknapbeurt gebruiken, matige wifi-ontvangst op onze kamer.

Sehr schönes stilvolles Haus. Schöne Lage obwohl Kingussi sicher schon bessere Zeiten gesehen hat.
