The only and very small hotel into this very small and pretty village, excellent position for landscape and tidal range lovers, here you can also be able to spot the most happy cute doggy of the west coast, the hotel itself is full of charm and project the guest into another age, somehow "out of the time", that reminds both the Victorian Age and the ww2, good for meditation, suggested to writers seeking for inspiration. Good food and breakfast of outstanding quality. Staff is very kind, local ones also, it's just to be kept in mind that's a small village so if you are seeking for confusion this is definitely not the place. Staff requests for your likings about meals and breakfast are reasonable due to the dimension of the structure. Wireless connection lacks a bit but it could have been a temporary fault. The hotel is connected to the only local public bar with all the pro and cons it delivers in a very very small village, a lonely (and foreigner) visitor could feel himself somehow out of the shell if he shoudn't understand properly and in-deep the english language cause if someone of the inhabitants should be in a bad mood, well, he has no other place to go than the public bar....that's also your only option. |

Aultbea Hotel is a lovely old house, with good sized rooms, set in beautiful countryside on the coast. Good comfortable beds, lovely bathroom with decent shower. Dinner at the hotel was decent pub food, but pricey. I'm assuming this is due to the remoteness of the hotel |

While the staff were friendly there seemed to be rather chaotic organisation and perhaps, too, too much involvement with guest choices! |

Food was good but service was poor because the dining room was too busy, we were kept waiting more than an hour for main course to be served. The building is out of date and impossible to operate efficiently, Poor quality extensions in the past and its general age make it dowdy, tired and in despearate need of major updating and overhaul. Lots of little bits of wear and tear showing, clumsy, thoughtless alterations (has anyone seen the cables in the dining room?), bits of the fabric that are too difficult to reach and, therefore, clean, all contribute to a very unpleasant atmosphere. There does not seem to be any co-ordinated thinking about appearance, image or presentation. The staff were really pleasant and helpful although a bit mechanical when reciting what they had been told to say on arrival rather than welcoming. The hotel survives because od where and not what it is. |

The silence, the peaceful behaviour of fellow guests and outlook onto the loch with its birds and yachts and fishing boats coming and going. Compared with the "de luxe" room we asked for and stayed in, the food in the restaurant (same menu as bar ?) was surprisingly unadventurous, but perhaps the hiring of a chef would be uneconomic. This not a complaint. The fish and chips were excellent. |

The night we arrived the staff was very polite and helpful. They made uis feel welcomed and that our business was appreciated. In the morning, the woman that checked us out was very rude and insulting. She said that they do not allow children after we had spent the evening in their family room and were treated kindly by the evening staff who were aware that we had the children. |

Rooms all have good views. Inhabitants have compiled an interesting local history booklet: copy kept in the guest lounge. Local store well stocked. Wonderful scenery. Rooms were slightly small. Restaurant food not good value. |

My single room with view on the dustbins, was as big a wardrobe, the television didn’t work and the food was terrifying. |

The location could not be faulted. Right on the edge of the loch. Our room looked over the loch and the sunsets. The scenery getting there from the Kyle of Lochalsh was stunning but allow 3 hours if you are driving that way. The breakfast was excellent. The room was 'comfortable'. This is a very quiet hotel, even in the public bar, so if you want nightlife, this is NOT the place. The lady who I assumed to be the owner/manager is a discredit to her position. Not very welcoming at all. She seemed to be very grumpy as if we shouldn`t be there. The TV in our room did not work and was a major chore to get it replaced. The evening meals are very average but well above average prices. The shower-room in room 1 is a bit cramped but clean and modern with an electric shower. |
