The Avenue Guest Accommodation  

Good hotel for sightseeing on Isle of Wight. Quiet location. Short walk to clifftop and beach. Extremely efficient and friendly staff. Good range of food for breakfast including extras for vegetarians. Comfortable public areas including conservatory. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Excellent bathroom. Reasonably priced for a seaside hotel in high season. Car parked on hotel forecourt during our stay but not enough parking for all visitors I should think.

Only one slight niggle. We would have liked the towels changed daily but as we only stayed 2 nights it wasn't an important issue and certainly not worth complaining about.

Very friendly staff, were attentive and welcoming.

It was well situated near enough to the town and the beach to be accessable for all in our party which included two elderly relatives. Manager did change our rooms for us a the stairs would have been too much for some of our party. Staff all helpful and friendly. Very quiet at night which made for a peaceful stay. Breakfast cooked to order and staff happy to accomadate different requests from the menu. Good selection of leaflets etc for visits around the Island and we did receive a discount from one of the leaflets to one of the places we visited.

In the room I stayed in the shower was very poor which was a minor irritation but otherwise the stay was very pleasant.

Very clean hotel, staff could not do enough to help and a very nice breakfast I would stay there again when we go back to visit my son that lives on the island

I would recommened this guest house to enyone staying in shanklin owner and staff are friendly and welcoming room was extremley comfortable and most importantly extremely clean. location is handy for sea front and train station,and breakfast is excellent and served in a clean relaxing dinning room.

I think that answers that said it all.

Very friendly owner and staff, impeccably clean although the fixtures and fittings are rather dated.

Found this guest house very good.It is very clean and tidy throughout.All staff were pleasent, polite,and smartly dressed.Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels supplied.No problem getting extra coffee ect either. Breakfast was great,and the lounge bar area,conservertory,and garden, great places to rest after a day out.Would recommend this place to anyone.

The only thing I would say is I think parking could be a problem if all guests used cars.As parking in the front is very limited(think it was 4 cars)and could not see anywere along road to park as this was all taken up by people who live there

We received a wonderful welcome from the owners and instantly felt at home. The room was spotlessly clean and well furnished. We had a very confortable bed with fresh white sheets, and a modern and clean en suite bathroom. The breakfast was brilliant and certainly a highlight.The owners couldn't have been more helpful with any enquiries we had. We intend to return to the Isle of Wight and will stay at the Avenue again.

Quiet location, yet close to shops, restuarants, beach and public transport. Clean and comfortable.
