Good food, pleasant modern hotel and very helpful staff.
Hard bed. Excessively early closing of the bar. Arriving back at the hotel at 10:20pm looking forward to a nice drink, the whole place was in darkness which was very disappointing.
Staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough.
Our bed was a little hard for me but fine for my husband. Nothing anyone could do about that!
Our stay at The Avenue Hotel was for one night only...we wished it was longer. Both Janet and Margaret were cheerful and professional, the room was perfect and food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection. We will return !
As we arrived late and were in a hurry to get to a wedding reception and had not eaten, the receptionist, Janet?(who I believe to be the ownwer) went out of her way to ensure that we had something to eat in our room whilst we got ready and also arranged for a taxi to take us to the wedding venue. The room was very modern and clean with complementary tea/coffee and toiletries.
The only thing that I thought let it down was the attitude of the young lady in the dining area in the morning. In contradiction to Janet she seemed less enthusiastic to welcome her breakfast guests. Maybe she was having a bad day.
Everything was spot on, from the cleanliness to the politeness of the staff, who just couldn't do enough for you. Excellent stay, thank yu so much The Avenue !
Lovely spacious room - we stayed in the Fleming Suite. It was nice to be able to relax without having to sit on the bed. The staff were excellent, very friendly & helpful. Dining room and bar area were very nice. Breakfast was filling and well presented.
Unfortunately the room decor seemed like it had seen better days. There were stains on the sofa beds & torn curtain linings. The suite we stayed in was beside what turned out to be a very noisy & busy road up to a housing estate. These things just took the edge off our stay.
Place - staff - food
Great hotel with very friendly staff and excellent bar and restaurant. Will be visiting again.
A very comfortable bedroom and friendly service
Lack of draught beer Lack of a space to sit downstairs away from the karaoke and the quiz.
Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly, it had a very welcoming atmosphere. Very modern and chic and small which we liked.......
The only thing and it was minor, there was no bath and for what we paid that would have been nice. Would definitely go back again.
Very nice and helpful staff, clean rooms, fairly modern decor, ironing facilities in room, nice quiet and remote location, breakfast was good and generous.
It was a bit further away from where we wanted to be but that's no fault of the hotel.
Modern, clean, friendly staff. Good food. Value for money.
Can feel a bit warm and dry at times.
Bed was a bit lumpy and it was noisey quite late with taxis on the road and music and talking from the bar area, we were in the first room on the ground floor so maybe can't be helped. Other than that perfect.
The perfect place to stay while visiting friends and relatives in the area. Clean, comfortable and friendly, lovely breakfast.
nice place, didn't stay long but have no complaints
I'd expect more options for veggie breakfast - at least an extra hash brown and egg in place of the meat I didnt have, rather than just a smaller meal
Really enjoyed the Thomas Suite Friendliness of the Staff the evening dinner was excellent
No lift to first floor No choice other than fried breakfast( which by the way was excellent ) ie Mixed berries Grapefruit, Prunes etc. Then hotel would easily be 4*
Nice room, great bed, great staff, excellent restaurant.
This is petty but, the otherwise excellent shower should have a soap dish. There is nowhere to put flannel, shampoo or soap except swirling around in the water at your feet. Also, there is nowhere to hang the towel outside the shower, except on the (damp and cold) floor! maybe it's just that one room ...
Receptionists were friendly.
Hotel had a party on with awful music till midnight. Fortunately it wasn't too noisy in our room except when guests opened the door leading onto the reception area
Warm welcome and friendly staff, good location for me. A comfortable stay and would rebook when I am next in the area. I stayed in one of the suites which had lots of space.
My only critism would be no fresh towels provided during my 3 night stay. My facial towel was removed from my room on my 2nd day but not replaced.
Friendliness of staff. Good food. Lovely location plus spacious car park. Comfort of bed. Great Service. No noise most nights. Would definitely stay here again.
No bath - just shower. Pity. One night only, a disturbance in the hotel on our floor. THIS COULD HAPPEN IN ANY HOTEL, ANYWHERE. Did not put us off going back.
Margaret a wonderful host always smiling! Room was very clean indeed Quiet Location with security! Ideal for our meal at the Freemasons Would go again!
If was I being really picky the breakfast was just ok and the eating area doubles up as meeting place for the locals at the weekend so there is music into the wee hours 1am max,But I suppose better than being soul less
Quiet location; friendly staff; good food; plenty of car parking space; overall, great value for money.
Not well signposted from main highway. Re accommodation - small point - room TV fixed on wall in inconvenient position for easy viewing. Window blinds broken & needed replacing.
Nice rooms, clean, comfortable bed though small. Nice cooked food.
Very loud live music on Friday night and karaoke on Saturday night which went on till after midnight. Small double bed. Didn't replenish tea/coffee/milk in room though staying two nights. Would have been nice to have decaf coffee and herbal tea. No continental option or fruit at breakfast. Was also overcharged and had to get bill amended. A bit short staffed.
