Score from 168 reviews Excellent
Close to venue of my course and in lovely countryside. Great cooked breakfast. Helpful reception staff. Good sized room and bathroom. Very clean and well maintained. A treat to stay over rather than drive backwards and forwards as I normally do for the weekend course.
Rooms not very soundproof from guests in corridors.
The welcome and friendliness of the staff who were willing to help in any way
Excellent accommodation and food, friendly staff and owners, and good wifi
TVs are mounted in a position that makes them difficult to view, but trivial really.
Clean rooms Lovely breakfast
Restaurant closes at 7
Great accommodation, very friendly staff, lovely breakfasts.
Nothing really to dislike.....if I had to be really, really picky I'd say that the coffee served at breakfast wasn't nice....but that's it! If that's the only issue after two nights stay they're not doing much wrong!
Breakfast was delicious, room was clean and staff went above and beyond.
Was a shame that when we got there the bar and restaurant weren't open. Bed was comfy but a little small.
The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Would definitely recommend.
The bed was a little hard for us, but that's just our own personel preference. Was a nice big bed.
The coffee is awful
Double was two singles
Wonderful staff and accommodation.
Good food, pleasant modern hotel and very helpful staff.
Hard bed. Excessively early closing of the bar. Arriving back at the hotel at 10:20pm looking forward to a nice drink, the whole place was in darkness which was very disappointing.
Staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough.
Our bed was a little hard for me but fine for my husband. Nothing anyone could do about that!
Our stay at The Avenue Hotel was for one night only...we wished it was longer. Both Janet and Margaret were cheerful and professional, the room was perfect and food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection. We will return !
As we arrived late and were in a hurry to get to a wedding reception and had not eaten, the receptionist, Janet?(who I believe to be the ownwer) went out of her way to ensure that we had something to eat in our room whilst we got ready and also arranged for a taxi to take us to the wedding venue. The room was very modern and clean with complementary tea/coffee and toiletries.
The only thing that I thought let it down was the attitude of the young lady in the dining area in the morning. In contradiction to Janet she seemed less enthusiastic to welcome her breakfast guests. Maybe she was having a bad day.
Everything was spot on, from the cleanliness to the politeness of the staff, who just couldn't do enough for you. Excellent stay, thank yu so much The Avenue !
Lovely spacious room - we stayed in the Fleming Suite. It was nice to be able to relax without having to sit on the bed. The staff were excellent, very friendly & helpful. Dining room and bar area were very nice. Breakfast was filling and well presented.
Unfortunately the room decor seemed like it had seen better days. There were stains on the sofa beds & torn curtain linings. The suite we stayed in was beside what turned out to be a very noisy & busy road up to a housing estate. These things just took the edge off our stay.
Place - staff - food
Great hotel with very friendly staff and excellent bar and restaurant. Will be visiting again.
A very comfortable bedroom and friendly service
Lack of draught beer Lack of a space to sit downstairs away from the karaoke and the quiz.
Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly, it had a very welcoming atmosphere. Very modern and chic and small which we liked.......
The only thing and it was minor, there was no bath and for what we paid that would have been nice. Would definitely go back again.
Very nice and helpful staff, clean rooms, fairly modern decor, ironing facilities in room, nice quiet and remote location, breakfast was good and generous.
It was a bit further away from where we wanted to be but that's no fault of the hotel.
Modern, clean, friendly staff. Good food. Value for money.
Can feel a bit warm and dry at times.
Bed was a bit lumpy and it was noisey quite late with taxis on the road and music and talking from the bar area, we were in the first room on the ground floor so maybe can't be helped. Other than that perfect.
The perfect place to stay while visiting friends and relatives in the area. Clean, comfortable and friendly, lovely breakfast.
