Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort

Although it is a large resort it was lovely and quiet and the grounds are kept very well and the excellent breakfast!

Use of the pool,gym sauna and steam rooms

The variety of food in the aspects hotel was shocking. My husband does not eat mushrooms or fish, which left him with only the chicken. There was also a domestic dispute which kept us away until 4am on the Sat night/Sunday morning.

Great snow and busy atmosphere

Poor parking and corridors in hotel could do with upgrading

Location was ideal.Well kept hotel and very friendly staff. On arrival there had been a mix up where I thought I had booked a double room but found I had been allocated a twin. The staff were very sympatheticand responded by switching rooms.

I had my evening meal in the Italian restaurant but did not enjoy the food or the atmosphere.

the room was comfortable and the facility`s were fine with a swimming pool and hot tub , breakfast was of a very good quality

the hallway to the room had a musty damp smell

Shabby corridors and doors needing painted and brightened up. Walking absurd distances to room. Guests having to stand in long queues for breakfast. Dust and dirt stains in room. Can't be a 4 start hotel!

I was only using it as a base so I cannot comment on the facilities but although I made no comp;aint other than the sink being blocked I was not overly impressed. On the day I arrived at 16,30 hours there was some doubt as to whether a room was available and the attendant on the desk had to go and see if the people who had previously used the room had left.

For £120.00 per night I would have expected soap,shower gel etc in the room but we had to provide our own on the first night and had only 1 bar of soap on the other two. The wash hand basin was cracked, the ventilation system did not work in the bathroom, and there was very little info about the hotel or how to use its facilities including the TV within the room.
