Macdonald Highland Hotel  

Visited the ski slope, travelled on the Strathspey Railway, walking, eating out, shopping

Hotel was excelent

The leisure facilities were very good for the family.

The food was very expensive, also with tourist buses arriving the hall ways could become noisy, it would be better if family's were not accommodated in the same areas as the tourist buses.

Large comfortable bed, friendly helpful staff

The bathroom was tired an very small. The resort is that big, we struggled to find where we needed to be and what facilities were included or available to us.

I was happy that the MacDonald Hotel delIvered all it promised with the exception of an in room dvd player. This addition would be a nice touch. Other than that we'll be sure to revisit in the not too distant future, as the staff, hotel and location ticked all the right boxes.

Everything about the hotel is great. We have stayed several times and are never disappointed with anything - from service to food !!! The staff are great, nothing is a problem for them. I love that there is everything within the complex so you dont have to venture far for something to do if you dont want to. Overall - great hotel and fabulous staff - cannot recommend this hotel high enough.

Its location bed was comfy.

Poor finishing in bathrooms, grubby around the edges , damaged to the bathroom door . a bit disappointing for a 4star hotel reception was not well signposted and awkward to find was very dark so signposts not that clear. Disappointing was my overall opinion.

Excellent rooms and the best hotel breakfast we have had.

The hotel is one of four on a large complex and it took us about thirty minutes from arrival to find our hotel and room. Better signage would be a great benefit.

Staff very friendly. Rooms very comfortable and clean.

A little bit out of the way for pedestrians walking to town, especially when the weather is poor.

No noise from ajoining rooms everything we needed in room. Receptionist very helpfull. Not far to walk to centre, didn,t need many taxis.got to use 9 hole golf course at dalfabor for only 10 pounds

Didn.t like paying £1 to book a table for evening meal but the biggest letdown was the long wait for breakfast over 1/2 an hour after we ordered full breakfast

The friendly staff were a credit to the hotel and the company, without exception, everyone made us feel welcome. The facilities were perfect for us and our two year old, and the breakfasts were the best we have had anywhere. Really enjoyed our short break here.

Absolutely nothing

The service at the hotel was the worst I have ever experienced. I have a group of American friends from Arizona visiting the area in November and advised them to stay well clear of this Hotel. It was the worst managed hotel I have ever stayed at. It was a embarrasmentto Scottish hospitallity.

The rooms were ok

The breakfast service was unacceptable, an hours wait for our food then when it came it was inedible( I had porridge which was like wallpaper paste.) The staff were exceptionally slow and not very efficient at all. Booking in took far too long- we booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and found we were only booked for 1 night and it took a while to resolve

I have always liked this hotel and have used it over the past 30 years when it was the Post House. However you are not organised for an event such as the Aviemeore half marathon for dinner or breakfast asd I know this as a friend said it was the same last year when tehy stayed there. I had to wait 25 minutes to be seated at breakfast and I heard others saying dinner was the same. I attend large international events and the hotels are always organised for breakfast so a chain such as the MacDonald Highland I expected a lot more from. You need a better system as I as manager myself I felt it was poorly managed in the restaurant. Make it completeley self service and just check in customers room numbers and have enough staff to clear up and it would work so much better. This is just my feed back not a complaint as it is up to you if you want to do something about it.
