Really helpfully, looking after our bags for us when we arrived in London at 6am, before the check in time of 2pm. They also offered us free breakfast as we had arrived so early! The location was great, the staff really helpful and the room was of an excellent standard. Would definitely stay there again, and intend to use them the next time we visit London.

We liked the location and area. Room was clean. First we came to hotel they asked to pay for the room ahead. Okay. Then first night I heard strange voice. 7 in the morning water came through the ceiling. Straight to our bed and and to the walls. Lots of water. We changed the room. Appeared that this room was also wet. We changed the room again. In the new room windows were like papers. You hear the traffic like it is in your room. We changed the room again. There is no working tv in the entire hotel. One morning we didnt get any breakfast beacause 9.15 there were no bread and milk. They said only sorry. We came home and discovered that someone has used my business creditcard. It was used the day after and then again the day after we checked in. Amount was 2x12.31 Euros. As it was new card and we hasnt used it before and didnt use it anywhere in London it was obvious that someone from the hotelemployees has used it for his own business. Probably it has happened with other customers aswell.

Superb location in a bourgeois borough, only 5 minutes walk from the tube (with 3 lines at you disposal - Piccadilly, District and Circle). A very nice Olives restaurant not far from the hotel, 24-hour Tesco supermarket opposite the Gloucester Road station with boulangerie Paul just next door. We booked a standard twin: nice, clean, though rather moderate size of the room with a tiny but clean bathroom. Wi-fi free of charge, speed was ok. Tea facilities in the room. I can recommend this hotel. The main advantage is definitely a perfect location. Breakfast, breakfast and again breakfast... Really poor. We had to buy yogurts in Tesco (instead of those chemical mixtures), boulangerie at Paul's and some really nice cheeses at Neal's Yard in Covent Garden (not that uneatable packed cheddar offered at breakfast) to have a normal tasty breakfast. But fruits (apples, oranges and bananas) were really good and cereals were eatable (though how can they not be?). And shower...the problem is that the showerhead is tightly fixed up in the cabin and you have to squirm from the water if you don't plan to wash your head. Removable showerheads would have been a great improvement.

The staff were very accomodating - we were moved due to unforseen circumstances where initially the room wasn't acceptable, however very quickly the staff sorted any issues and our stay was lovely.

This is a very nice, yet relatively inexpensive hotel in a prime location. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to female colleagues traveling alone. Not sure I will stay there again either. Problem: over- zealous energy controls that shut off the lights until motion is detected. I arrived at 8pm and coming out of the lift, I needed to walk down a corridor through a closed fire door (as is common in all hotels). It was pitch black on the other side of the door. I opened the door expecting lights to go on, but it was not until I was well into the corridor that the motion detectors finally turned on the lights! Scary -- and definitely unsafe -- to have to venture into a dark corridor alone. There are no access controls coming into the hotel. Anyone could be lurking there. No good at all!!! Another amusing, but annoying example is the breakfast room where the lights kept turning off requiring guests to wave their arms in the air periodically to turn them back on. Silly... But also very unsafe. Sorry, hotel has lots of pluses, but on this basis I cannot recommend it to others until this is adjusted.

Very good position, only 5 minutes walking to the underground. Perfect position if you want to visit the city. Very Nice neighbourhood with quite à lot of restaurants, cafés, supermarket not so far from the hotel. We booked à superior room: nice, clean, quite big and comfortable bed. Hotel staff very unpolite except for à girl who works at the reception. When we arrived at the hotel they requested to pay in avance which we found quite strange. Very poor and bad breakfast. We decided the second day to have breakfast outside the hotel.

The single room which I booked was very small but clean. Bathroomn was tiny. Staff was very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast consisted of assortment of cereals, jam, bread, honey, 2 types of yogurt (manufactured), fruits, juices, coffee and tea. Good location - just 5 minutes to Glocester road (Picadilly line) or 7 minutes to Earls court. Ultimately the hotel is good but rooms are too small. The space of rooms. Lack of remote control for TV. Thin walls - noise was heard. Water in a shower was only hot. Wi-Fi was slow.

This hotel was ideal for our one-night trip to the theatre. The size of the room was more than adequate for a few nights. Spotlessly clean. 3 minutes walk to the Tube, giving easy access to all areas of London. Our room was on the top floor and very warm, so we just turned the radiator off. Paid £85, so this was excellent value for the location. Not a great deal of storage space for clothes - not a problem for our one night stay, but may be a problem if you were planning to stay a week or more.

Immaculate and clean hotel. Excellent location near the tube station. Excellent room rates. Difficult to fault this hotel for the price. Bathroom was tiny, but immaculate, so no big deal. Looked brand new to us!

1) Location is very convinient - 5 minutes from the tube station and just 4-5 stations from the main attractions, direct line from Heathrow airport - 45-50 minutes by tube. 2) Clean room. 3) Friendly staff. 1) Manager couldn't find the key from the safe. So, it wasn't possible to use safe. 2) Wi-fi doesn't work in the room, only in the lobby. 3) Small shower cabin and low water pressure in the shower.

5 minute walk from Gloucester Rd tube, lovely area with plenty of shops and restaurants. Upon arrival staff were polite and checked in within 5 mins. We were pleased to get a twin room as requested. For £65 each for a 2 night stay you can't ask for more. Nice room, with tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Ensuite shower room was basic but adequate for it's purpose. Lift was useful as we were staying on 4th floor. Breakfast, again basic but for the price you can't complain. Overall 8 out of 10, would recommend and stay there again Not really a dislike but would have been nice if hotel had a bar for the evening.

The room was very clean and well presented given the price, I was expecting a much less comfortable experience so I was pleasantly surprised! I drink a lot of water so having a Brita filter in the room was extremely useful for me. Breakfast was very basic but given the price I can accept that.

Location, reasonable sized room for the money Quality of the breakfast experience was below expectations, service was below standard, buffet continental breakfast was a free for all and had more of a youth hostel feel than a hotel breakfast and content was very basic.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Avni. It is clean, reasonably comfortable and the continental breakfast is very good. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom, although small, is 'perfectly formed' with plenty of towels, soap and shampoo. In common with other modest, modern hotels in the Gloucester Road area, the furniture is simple and the storage space is adequate for 2 or 3 nights. The staff are all courteous and helpful. I returned to the Avni because it gave the best value for money for hotels in this price range.

Location close to Earls Court exhibition center. We booked 3 twin rooms (three weeks earlier); it occured that they gave us doubles. Explanation, that hotel decides what kind of room they give us is not satisfactory to me. After a long quarrel we got an extra room for a half of the price(1 night), and triple room with an extra bed for the rest of the stay (instead of double). Other guests were in the same situation - hotel intentionally overbooked twin rooms. Hotel staff was rude and breakfast was really simple.
