ottima posizione con vista sul ponte

bagno pulito ma un po' fatiscente

L'unica cosa apprezzabile, ed è davvero l'unica, è il panorama sul ponte...

Colazione povera, piatti sporchissimi (ho mangiato nel piattino della tazza del the, perchè sui piatti normali si poteva ancora distinguere cosa c'era stato mangiato il giorno prima... Ed era la pila dei piatti puliti, non quella in attesa di essere messa in lavastoviglie!!!). Non c'è l'aria condizionata, fa caldo in camera. Corridoi strettissime e scomodità assoluta nel trasporto bagagli (lunga sequenza di porte e scalini per arrivare alla camera...)

Bed was very hard.

Joanna, the hotel manager, was great. She was very warm and welcoming, and upgraded us to a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the Clifton Suspension bridge when a light in the room wasn't working. She gave us local maps and got someone to show us how to open door,

Nothing, apart from the attitude of one woman at reception who told me the balcony could not be used because of the time of year, which was completely untrue.

Television reception wasn't great.

The room was cosy, the bathroom was large, there was ample closet space, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered great variety, which was helpful in view of my husband's dietary restrictions. Clifton village is a lovely area--everyone we met was very friendly.

The scrambled eggs on the first morning were barely lukewarm and not really hot on the third morning. The rolls and croissants seemed to have been left over from the previous day--certainly not fresh.

the staff were very pleasant adn accommodating. The hotel is voctorian so there is a lovely atmosphere and the view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge is wonderful. Breakfast is very good too!

The furniture in our room was tired looking and the fabric on the chairs was badly stained. The bathroom heaters had been turned off in every room due to health and safety so it was cold in the bathroom. We did not get the double room we had booked for- there were twin beds in our booked room, but the hotel changed the room for one with a double bed However we were then placed two rooms up form their ballroom which had christmas parties in on both Friday and Saturday night so we had disturbed nights. This was a shame as we had stayed in the hotel in October and had no complaints then!

The hotel is in an impressive location, and considering it is in the middle of Clifton village, I found it very reasonably priced. The reception staff were very polite and prompt.

I thought that the bathroom looked a little tired - the fitttings look dated and the shower was very old and didn't work well. The room was also cold - I mention this because on my last two stays at the hotel ( some five years ago) I found my room cold and the bathroom commnets applied then. Maybe it's time to consider updated some of the bedrooms.

Old and tired

I booked my hotel room on-line, a short time before I arrived at the Avon Gorge. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient and my booking couldn't have been processed more smoothly. The room I was allocated was clean and comfortable and the en-suite bathroom the same. I plan a return to this hotel soon.
