Some hooks in the bathroom would be useful.
Perfect for an overnight or couple of nights and very handy for Kings Cross/St Pancras/Euston. Plenty of pubs/restaurants in the area. An old building which has been basically brought up to a more modern standard but still has original features. Very clean and tidy room.
room door not very secure , basic yale lock,. but 24hours cover on front door. Shower fitting was basic with no thermostat which could drench you in very hot water, I did not have an issue with this but it could be an issue. Breakfast basic.
The location is perfect, saving us a lot of metro fare. One of the staff Alexander is nice and helpful. Breakfast is decent. But if you don't like cold food in the morning, you may not get full on the cooked breakfast alone.
The toilet doesn't flush well. The room is very warm without airflow.
Excellent Location - Cleanliness - Reasonably priced rooms for location - Night staff pleasant and helpful
No luggage room - The temperature of the hot water seemed dangerously high - Day staff not very friendly
The Leigh House - Room excellent, well finished and very comfortable - breakfast was first class.
Didn't Actually stay in The Avonmore - was shown to The Leigh House Hotel which was very nice apart from the room I was allocated was very noisy due to its position.
Location good, not far from Kings Cross and walking distance to most areas and underground stations. Rooms fairly small but adequate. Beds made and towels changed daily. Cooked breakfast was good.
Decor was dated. Lacked coat hangers in wardrobe and hooks in bathroom for towels.
Location and good layout of family room
Hot water too hot, almost scolded my child, cold water warm, thermostat problem I think,
Free wifi Good filling breakfast Close to tube stations Friendly staff
Top floor-lots of stairs!
Helpful and knowledgable staff, nice and quiet neighbourhood, value for money, comfortable bed, easy access to all poi in uk. Maps of London and leaflets about tourist attractions provided. Breakfast included in price. Highly recommended!!
Actually no reasons to complain.
The location is very handy for King's Cross tube station.
The temperature of the hot water seemed dangerously high. The shower cubicle was extremely small; the water filled up the tray; and the high water temperature meant that one could easily burn oneself on the tap. The breakfast was cold. Poor value for money. I wrote a letter regarding the above to the hotel but received no reply.
Reasonably priced rooms for location. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.
- Location (tube station, restaurants, shops, park, museums) - Staff friendliness - Cleanliness
- No luggage room - No air conditioning so a bit hot with windows closed, which was necessary because of outside noise due to proximity to street - Limited choice of interesting television stations on bedroom TV
The staff was very helpful, and doing his part of job responsibily. The location is ideal - walking distance to bus/tube/train stations, restaurants, museum, etc. But be aware what you are getting for: old house-converted hotel, very very small room, no elevator, no AC, tinyest bathroom in this world if the room has one inside.
The standard room we booked for 4days/3nights was so small, so outdated and was in the basement even after an upgrade, we were so disappointed! This was totally different than the pictures and wordings presented on the web site. And let's not even mention the in-room washing sink and bath room (also an upgrade), you couldn't turn yourself around once in ; it was a joke! With money we paid for it, we felt deceived and requested money back after one night. The night staff couldn't do that but suggested moving to another hotel a few houses down that was run by the same owner. We took the offer quickly and lugged our suitcases four flights up to the top floor of that "hotel" --we believed after this experience any other lodging arrangement had to be better.
I liked its location, not only close to Euston but in a quiet location. Beds were clean and we had clean towels everyday. Staff were pleasant and helpfull.
Hot water temperature was scary! 95 degrees, it was boiling coming out of the taps! Could do with a makeover bit tiered looking
Location & price
In need of decoration, looking very old and warn. Breakfast was basic.
Breakfast was lovely! And the room was adorable
It would be very nice if there was an air conditioning
Excellent Location, Good eating places nearby.
Slightly cramped. But rooms were fine in terms of space.
The sheets were clean
This was the worst hotel and the smallest room I have ever stayed in, rundown, shabby decor, grubby with difficult access if you had a lot of luggage. If I had been a tourist, I would have been thinking that this was an example of rip off Britain.
Room is quite small
Helpfull and friendly staff, quiet neighborhood, but shops, cafés and restaurants nearby, and Kings Cross station a few minutes walk away.
The room was clean The shower was hot The breakfast was cooked fresh and was delicious Convenient location so I only had to be there to sleep! ......but that's about it!
I think this is probably the smallest room I've ever stayed in - and that includes university rooms for conferences! The lock on the door looked like it was going to slip undone, so the chair was up against the door all night. The walls are thin and I could hear people coming and going from around 5am! Fortunately I didn't have a suitcase with me - if I had, I've no idea where it would have gone! There aren't enough tables to cope with the number of guests, so be prepared to share. I guess it's supply and demand, but £145 for such a tiny room for one night is ridiculous! Be warned and keep looking for somewhere else if you can!
- price (half of normal price) - internet - location
- dirty basin - linen were not changed, hair all over - dusty, worn out carpet
Clean rooms staff very nice and helpful
Could be doing with decorated bit old fashioned. Rooms were too hot and stuffy
Only the location
My room was underfloor with a little window, without natural light. Internet functions only sometimes. Without elevator my room was two floors from ground and nobody help with baggage. Staff of reception ok but employees who serve breakfast rude and noisy. It was the worst Hotel I have ever been.
The staff is kind and available to help you.
The toilet flush didn't work properly. The shower is not pratical + the cold and hot irregular. The wi-fi connection signal is very low.
