The hotel is conveniently located ten minutes from the metro and train station Pancras and Kings Cross, in a safe, pleasant and plenty of food and fun, besides the British Muesu which is a must. The hotel service is excellent, everyone is very courteous and helpful (a differential of the hotel), especially Alex who gave us great tips for tours and shifts the beautiful city of London. For those seeking location and good service this hotel is the best tip. Only the breakfast could be served a little earlier.

Close to Kings Cross rail station. Many facilities close. No lift and narrow winding staircase to top floor, not easy with a large heavy suitcase.

I've stayed at the Avonmore several times. As always the staff were great. My room was cosy and comfortable. I like the location as it's equidistant between Euston and Russell Square stations. For someone doing London on a budget it's a good place to stay

Very friendly staff, and location. Rooms are clean and tidy, with good space in it. Not a fancy hotel, but you wouldn't expect it to be with those prices, so no complains.

The price is reasonable, breakfast fine and staff were helpful. The rooms are tiny, ok for a very short trip or for a bed at night & a shower. No room to swing a cat!

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was lovely. Tv and range of channels in the room was good. Excellent location - close to tube stations and busy high street, but slightly set off the main road to ensure a quiet night sleep. The dated shower and bathroom facilities. Some holes in the wall and some of the light fittings weren't working. Poor ventilation in the bathroom. However, for the price and location these are minor problems and to be expected for the age of the building. Overall I was very pleased.

I had a triple room for myself and that was nice. Enough space and good beds. The room was very hot the first day, but they turned down the heater and the second day was better. I had a window, but because it was on the street side it was a bit noisy when I opened it.

Of course one cannot compare British infrastructure to the German one, but keeping that in mind, the hotel is perfectly fine. Everything: toilet, shower, sink tabs (warm and cold) where ancient, but functioning well and the water was clean and drinkable. Windows are a little drafty, which is not really comfy in winter, but the radiator worked (to compensate). Rooms where cleaned everyday to satisfaction - no bugs, no dirt, no dust. The people working there do care very much about your well being and also prepare a decent breakfast. On the whole, one can say, for being in London, it's a nice small affordable hotel with good tube/train connections - worth a recommendation.

the location is great (only ten minutes walking if you get to london in king's x), close to many bars and shops and just a few mins from the centre by underground) and the hotel staff is helpful. The breakfast is very nice and rooms are nice and clean, daily service. I'd definitely recommend the hotel, regardless the very few details i wasn't happy about small room but, more than everything, very old window not closing properly (fresh air coming from the outside in a chilli november day), bathroom clean but not very comfortable (shower uneasy to use if you didn't want to wash your hair), just one towel available. No hairdryer in the room, but you can ask staff to borrow one

Close to Euston and Kings Cross St Pancras £130!!! For this hotel, what a rip off. The room was clean enough, not spotless, but the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. Our bathroom had no shower gel, bath mats of hand towels and was so small, you had to get dried in the bedroom. The worst part of the stay was the couple who arrived in the room above us at midnight, the floor boards creaked and you could hear every footstep. The couple left at 3am, it appeared that they may not have been using the hotel for the same purpose as I was!! I will be far more careful in choosing a room in London in future, I stay away a lot and this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, it was a desperate last minute booking and one I will regret for quite awhile.

Room was clean, everything worked, staff were all polite and helpful, and the full British breakfast was substantial with nice fruit juices and fresh fruit too. Considering the great location in particular, I felt Avonmore was very good for the price. The only downside was the distant sound/rumbling of trains in my basement room, until the tube stopped running and again early in the morning. But you can't hear them in upper rooms, and actually I slept ok.

Reception staff were excellent and very helpful however the rudeness of the breakfast room staff was totally unacceptable, Location good The woman servicing breakfast was surly and rude to guests walking into the breakfast room. 3 girls walked in but were rudely told 'well you will have to split up and share table with somebody'. This could have been avoided if the tables were doubles and not for four, as each table of four had only two people at them. She also told another group ' you will have to come back' but breakfast was nearly finished so this would have caused further problems, There were four in my party. One asked for no beans, but was given beans and no sausage. Another had stone cold beans. As vegetarian I asked for two eggs which came swimming in oil. We were given 2 slices of toast between 4, and had to ask twice more for more toast and each time it came, there was only 2 slices. That is 6 slices between 4 people when normally we would expect two each. Also only given a 2 cup pot of tea for 3 people. If the breakfast experience had been better we would have booked again for a trip in January however will now book elsewhere

Excellent location. Cartwright Gardens is a pleasant quite place in Bloomsbury. You will not be disturbed neither by road noise, nor by overexcited companies. In the same time, there are several supermarkets and restaurants in less than 7 minutes walking. Friendly staffs. Good english breakfast. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms. Small rooms, but they are adequate for 2-stars hotel. The most annoying disadvantage - very inclined floors, so that rolling items fall from the table.

The staff were very professional and the way the hotel was run, while unique, was easy to get used to - you have to turn in your room key when you leave the hotel... The room setup was nice but it was very hot at night and therefore uncomfortable to sleep. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - well served and a nice selection of food. I would definitely stay here again.
