Location is great for anyone visiting the university of Birmingham. Just a five minute walk. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Wifi worked well with no problems. Room was basic but it was clean and just as good if not better than I expected for the price. It was so cheap! Can't fault it at all.
Everything was good!
good value. Friendly landlord.Tea and coffee in room.
The bed was comfortable. The shower was nice and hot.The owner (lady) was helpful and friendly. Wifi worked well. Cooked breakfast was nice. Booking was easy.
Room facilities were a bit dated but OK.
Needs a complete make over and en suite facilities!!! Also I don't feel it's acceptable to ask for payment as soon as you walk through the door!
- Too cold inside the room - Too cold in the breakfast room - Quality of the breakfast
big room Neat room Tea and coffee available in room Good TV in room Parking available
Very cold during night. I would recommend more heating available for winter. Not enough heating Shampoo and shower gel should be provided daily as one sachet is for one night only
The location was good as the hotel is located along a major road and there was a bus station just by the road side giving easy access to the central business center
The hotel corridors were too dumpy and a foul smell was usually witnessed. and I don't think anyone cleaned my room during my two days stay at the hotel.
The greeting was not very enthusiastic and the room was very cramped for three people.
Cheapish out of city location
Having to put everything on the floor or bed is not my idea of a pleasant stay. Shelf required by sink to put toiletries on would be a start. Shared bathroom needs brightening up with a lick of paint and a shelf by the sink. A sign in the hallway telling guests to keep noise down, it is an old house with thin walls and creaking floors. Breakfast was ok. It would be nice to be offered more coffee and toast.
The hotel is literally a house with what looked like a family living downstairs and the bathrooms we're seperate which was not what I was expecting. It had a weird atmosphere especially because the family we're downstairs! I would not stay there again
Good Breakfast Location
Room scruffy and cold Bed linen not ironed Table cloths not ironed Not very welcoming with dog
Nice quiet location.
Insufficient onsite parking. The heating was on but room not really warm enough for the time of year.
Location, clean, bed, bathroom
breakfast too espensive
The beds were comfy
Waiting in the pouring rain for the door to be answered. No heating on in room. Room very cold. No mirror in room. Shower tiles cracked and black mould in shower unit. Toilet seat damaged on inside of rim. Shower very poor, no pressure at all. Cooked breakfast needed cooking longer.
It is kept clean and tidy, very comfortable place to stay
Friendly welcome, tasty breakfast, lovely old house, garden views of trees, free parking, quiet. Sunshine warmed the en suite in the morning and afternoon. Lovely dual aspect accommodation in a traditional guest house style.
Chilly in the en suite without heating after dark, so no shower before bed. Draughty windows which blinds did not fully cover so put my head to other end of the bed! Privacy? No BBC on tv but didn't bother too much.
Just I like it
Close to university Nice Landlady
Cold shared bathroom Cold breakfast room Tiny tv Beam above bed I cracked my head on. Poor value
Good location, quiet, warm, clean & bed comfortable.
Small room with very dated decor & facilities Very small ensuite Breakfast very basic with little choice
Comfortable beds, good breakfast, excellent location for relatives of students living in Selly Oak
Would prefer en-suite to shared bathroom but realise the limitations of the hotel layout. shared bathroom not a probem
Friendly staff and quite location. Small hotel with reasonable facilities for the price. If ensuite facilities are required make sure the room booked has them when booking. Free Wifi available.
Nothing. Perfectly adequate as a basic hotel providing bed and breakfast.
Bed Breakfast Location Price £59 B & B
Hotel closed and deserted at 15.10 when we arrived with no note or indication of when or if it would be open. When we returned at 16.15 and knocked loudly on the door because the bell didn't appear to work, the first words from the proprietor were 'who's banging on my door?' She then gave us our key and requested payment in advance. Although the bed was comfortable, the room was very basic and the bedroom door emitted a very loud squeak whenever anyone got up in the night to go to the toilet on the landing, so awakening the other sleeping person.
Landlord was extremely helpful as we arrived after 2.30am! Good Location!
Bed was uncomfortable but it for only for a few hours so bearable! Would not say it was a hotel, more like a B&B as bathroom, toilet etc was shared!
Friendly young waitress, that really did her best.
Shabby Tired Overgrown garded Having to pay- before seeing room cups in room filthy
Breakfast was very nice
The room we were in felt like a set of servants quarters and weren't very arp for our usage.
