The warmth of the welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay
The shower in our room, but the owners did try to rectify it.
Super service and friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Lovely views.
It was quite a mature clientele. Rather thin walls which meant we could hear the TV next door a little too clearly in the early morning.
large bedroom with excellent facilities
unprofessional attitude and behaviour of waitress at breakfast
Warmth of welcome and log fire. Breakfast excellent.
A bit chilly in the bathroom
We had a warm welcome and were well looked after by very friendly and personable team. Food was excellent. Would recommend.
Cosy warm atmosphere. Had dinner & drinks at the hotel after a long day touring the lakes. The meal was fab as was the wine selection.
Arrived mid evening after long drive - lovely warm welcome and staff had been ready to keep supper for me if I was unduly delayed. Lovely supper & slept like a log. Excellent breakfast - just a shame I had to then go to work!
Fantastic country house with lovely public rooms and bedrooms and exceptionally good food at a reasonable rate combined with very friendly service - easily accessed for an overnight stop off from the motorway.
Lovely location ,very welcoming ,lovely rooms and staff
Nothing really. Breakfast coffee was a little cold as was my breakfast but I am being a little picky here otherwise very good .a little outside centre of cartmel okay for me and hubby to walk into but not for elderly parents
Very helpful staff, excellent food and good choice of food. If only it were nearer, we would visit more often.
Only stayed one night, rooms was very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic. Will be back next time in the area.
Lovely restful holiday. Staff are excellent & go out of their way to make everything run smoothly. If you need to wind down this is a great place to do it.
Nothing to dislike. We took our car into Cartmel - about three minutes drive away - because, although it could have been a nice walk & there was a road to walk on, there were no pavements. But that was a minor point & certainly wouldn't stop us returning.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. The food and service were excellent. The lounges and other common guest accomodation was comfortable and welcoming
Circumstances made it necessary to have a change of room on the second night to a converted attic room. It was spacious and comfortable but the beams made it difficult [especially for a 6.3inch man] to move around without constant bending of heads - and occasionally bangs on the head if we forgot to do so.
cosy rooms, food of excellent quality, service great.
Warm welcome and friendly staff
Used to stay there 30 years ago when went racing. Was always lovely then but a bit tatty! What a pleasant suprise, it has been totally refurbished to an excellent standard, rooms were beautiful. Chris even gave my son a lift down to village the next day for the car after we had taken a taxi back. Breakfast ten out of ten and I am fussy. Can't rate it highly enough and certainly recommending it to my racing friends!
Nothing at all!
Quality of food was first class - we had b&B and dinner. Great value. A family run country hotel where personal service is obviously something they take pride in.
Excellent food, nothing was to much trouble for the very helpful staff, decent parking, nice quiet location just outside Cartmel. it was just perfect for us.
A delightful country hotel - well run by people who care - within walking distance of the beautiful village of Cartmel and an easy drive to all the attractions of the Lakes. Comfortable, with excellent cooking - particularly the amazing breakfasts!
A shower in the bathroom would have made our stay perfect.
Very comfortable hotel, with efficient staff and good food.
Noisy chambermaids outside our room
we were made very welcome. The bar, although small, was cosy and welcoming. The lounges were inviting. The bedroom spacious and comfortable. The dining room was especially nice, with tables beautifully set out, and the food was very good. Service at all times was excellent.
The drink prices were a bit expensive, especially the bottled beer.
Perfect short stay. Great location, well appointed, attentive staff, high quality food and good value for money.
The atmosphere, the charm, the welcome, the food- simply the whole experience.
Attention to detail, professional friendly staff. Ambience of dining room, lovely food. Dog made welcome.
