We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff who were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. After a long journey of over 350 miles to the hotel we felt very much at home and all our needs were catered for. Talisker whisky before dinner, an excellent dinner and wine plus an open fire. The breakfast was all that I needed. Lovely countryside which looked perfect as the sun shone all day. Michael and Louise Harrison There was nothing we did not like

Great location in Cumbria, the staff were very welcoming, professional yet friendly; nothing was too much trouble. The selection on the menu was excellent and sourced locally. There was also a reasonable wine selection. The host was more than happy to discuss local history. It would be a little difficult to get to some rooms upstairs for less mobile patrons, but the host did ask if mobility was a problem prior to arrival.

The friendliness of the staff, from checking in to leaving, was exceptional. we liked the atmosphere of the hotel. Fresh milk in the bedroom, fresh butter and jam at breakfast, comfortable lounges. I could go on for ever! One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Keep up the good work. Nothing to dislike about Aynsome Manor Hotel

Roaring fires and comfy armchairs - what more could you ask for during an unseasonaly cold snap at Easter? The emphasis was definitely on relaxation and I'd defy anyone not to be able to unwind at this excellent hotel. Fixtures and fittings in the bedrooms are all clean and modern, yet the traditional character of this small, intimate hotel has been skillfully maintained. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful too. Only had one meal there (breakfast) but can thoroughly recommend it. My only (minor) gripe - and this is just a personal preference - was the liquid soap provided for both wash basin and shower. Obviously high quality stuff that's provided, but I do prefer a small bar of soap instead of the repeated pump action necessary to extract a few globules very few minutes in the shower.

The hotel is a little way out of Cartmel with views of the Priory over the fields. Room very comfortable with new ensuite and of course all the creaking floorboards that comes with an older property. Breakfast excellent, wide choice and lots of local produce. Didn't have evening meal, but all the diners were making appreciative comments. Highlight was the sitting room. A proper country house feel with open fire and antique furniture that shared the history of the house. The owners were fantastic. Very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful.

Aynsome Manor is a friendly Hotel, good for a "peace and quite" break. The staff are very profesional and will do just about anything to make your stay as comforable as possible. It cater's for the older set and our observation is; clients return on a regular basis, the hotel manager knew several people on first name terms. We ate at the restaraunt (fully booked for early March), the service and food was good albit the wine is pricey but this is to be expected.

Wonderful hotel - the room was very comfortable, the service excellent and the food delicious. The hotel was an extremely comfortable place to stay and relax - with a roaring fire in the reception hall and an excellent standard of decor throughout. Would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Having to leave.

The service was friendly and efficient. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The Hotel is in a beautiful location. It is everything you could ask for in a small Hotel. The bathroom in room 12 was a little cold and there wasn't a shower. This did not spoill our enjoyment, but I wouldn't like to stay in that room in the winter.

We arrived at the end of a very wet and tiring drive and we were welcomed at the door and our tiredness and stress disappeared. Our luggage was taken to our room while we were able to enjoy a reviving drink in the comfortable bar area. The attentiveness of the staff throughout our stay was excellent and we commented on how well trained everyone was. We felt that there was a genuine regard for the comfort of the guests without any superficial responses. There was a very nice balance of making sure our needs were met whilst our privacy was respected. The food was also very well presented and cooked and very enjoyable.

The standards have been consistently high over the past 25years that we have been staying. It presents all the best of a family run hotel with a totally personal service and attention to detail. The only downside was the bed in our room it was exceptionally uncomfortable.
