The Wheatsheaf Hotel is set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. The restaurant serves dishes made using local recipes and produce, and the bar serves real ales.

Overlooking the Market Square in the small town of Masham, this charming inn is set within a fine Georgian building of tremendous character, built in the second half of the 18th century.

Very clean, well appointed rooms lovely restaurant and meals.
Located within the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales this inn is everything you could ask for. Very clean, well appointed rooms (with under floor heating) are complimented by a lovely restaurant with well above average meals.

Banging my head on the roof beams
set in beautiful dales country with magnificent views from the bedroom and dining room windows. friendly staff and a good restaurant. Set next to aysgarth falls. terrific walking and touring.
wish you could book in before 2pm.
Real ale selection good atmosphere and ambience exceptional food both at Dinner plus a great breakfast and we will be going back at the first opportunity
We liked the pub atmosphere and it's proximity to the Aysgarth Falls. However it is in the country on a main road so you don't get to stroll round a village or town if that's what you like to do after dinner.
Our room was on the second floor and we had to negotiate several flights of stairs. Not easy at our age. The food was good but expensive. The attitude of the proprietor was glum and it seemed as though he was doing us a favour. He served us at breakfast one morning and we were firmly told we should not have sat at a table set of four people when there were only two of us. A man who came in after us made the same mistake and he was asked to switch tables. Not what you would expect paying the prices he was charging.
Great hospitality Room was very clean Food was lovely Great location to Aysgarth Falls
No shaver socket
The views, the bathroom and the delicious food.
Slight noise from the generator
Staff were polite, helpful and efficient. Food exceptional. Bedrooms very well equipped with very comfortable beds and beautiful bedding.
Pleasant helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms and good restaurant.
Excellent food, staff very obliging. Situated in a lovely area of the Yorkshire Dales.
Attic room slightly on the small side, but with all the facilities needed.
Lovely room Welcoming atmosphere Friendly staff Great food
Views from room were perfect, room was spacious and comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.
The food was excellent - jst what you need if you have been ot walking. Perfect breakfast evening meal, and friendly staff.
Comfortable room, good breakfast, great view from room.
would have liked drinking water in the room, although was supplied when asked for
How ever hard you tried it would be impossible to find any fault with this hotel. The room was modern with great views. The breakfast was the best we've had anywhere. The pub was traditional with great food at a reasonable price. As for the staff, you couldn't find better. Aysgarth Falls were a five minute walk away. Wonderful!!!
Excellent restaurant, very friendly, well-kept
My wife said the lighting in the bathroom was dim, making it hard to put on her makeup.
My husband and I visited this hotel 36 years ago on our honeymoon( it was then called The Palmer Flatt Hotel.) it was a cosy inn then not the elegant establishment we enjoyed this week. Well done for the transformation.
A break on the way home to sample the food, wine, hospitality and view the falls. Everything worked out perfectly. Great stay
Wifi did not work in our room. To be fair, we were warned that it might not and we're given ample instructions of what to do about it. We only stayed one night so there was no need to make arrangements
Beautiful hotel in a lovely location with excellent staff. Particularly liked the extra little touches including the fresh milk in the fridge on the landing instead of the uht pots.
A warm welcome from very friendly staff. We stayed in room 9 which faces forward across the road with lovely views across the dale. There was some slight noise from the road but it's not the M25 and we slept really well. Very clean with a king size bed and great modern shower room with high pressure hot water and all the facilities you would expect. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, excellent food and attentive service.
There are some steep steps up to the second floor (third floor if you are from the US) not a problem for us but you need to be aware of it and get a room on a lower floor if it would bother you.
Top quality staff, room, bar, restaurant, location. Would recommend.
A bit pricey for evening dinner and drinks, but the quality was very high
