For a B&B and the price we paid the breakfast was good as for the location Portaferry is a small place the location was good not far to walk to a few nice restaurants/Bistro or go for a walk in Nugents woods or the ferry that takes you across to Strandford as a foot passenger for a couple of £ return there you’ll find another couple of good places to eat or take the car explore that part of the country

Lough Rooms at The Artisan, hotel in Portaferry

Located in Strangford and within 29 miles of The Belfast Empire Music Hall, Lough Rooms at The Artisan features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Proprietor was super-friendly. Room was modern and spotlessly clean but also comfortable and quiet. We ate both dinner and breakfast at The Artisan restaurant downstairs in same building as our room. Absolutely delicious modern take on both Irish and eclectic dishes. Great bakery across the street. Easy street parking.

Attractive scenery, interesting local history, friendly locals, peaceful. The only drawback was a shortage of places to eat out, especially after 7 p.m. I recommend The Bull and Claw pub for good food.

Great waterside town with limited facilities (places to eat) when we were there but the locals were great, parking is free and it still has a lot of locals living there - so much better than other locations that are nothing more than tourist dormitories. Great food and service at the hotel. Not sure why more people don't go there (but glad they don't !!)
