style and quality of the room, high standing of furniture throughout the building - the breakfast was very nice as well and the double shower appreciated
Location, cleanliness, breakfast!
Everything newly refurbished & carried out with an eye to quality. Quality of breakfast was very high - all food looked good, including evening meals Great views
Minor downside was not having onsite parking, but that was the same for all hotels in that location
We stayed in the Downs Suite, the room was superb and had spectacular views overlooking the bay.
Amazing breakfast, roof terrace beautiful, staff lovely.
No food facilities after 5
The hotel was great. Before we even arrived the manager had been really helpful in arranging for our room to be ready way before check in time. The room was good size, clean and full of character. Breakfast was freshly made and to a good standard.
Finding parking wasn't too difficult but I would prefer to have parking provided.
Most things especially wonderful breakfast and lovely views from roof terrace .very clean hotel . Nice polite helpful staff . would stay again in larger room if price was a bit lower ...
small space in room felt a bit claustrophobic for us. would have moved fridge next to wardrobe and put two a small two seater sofa near window so both could enjoy the views ....a bit pricey for size
Location, staff service and a fantastic restaurant, especially the evening dinner.
Wi-fi was intermittent in our room.
EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB ,THE ROOMS , THE FOOD ,CLEANLINESS, SUPERB LOCATION , THE STAFF WERE GREAT . LOOK FORWARD TO GOING AGAIN . RECOMMEND EVERY TIME
Exceptionally clean and well presented – the décor is of the very highest standard – The staff, especially the chef, are all positive and helpful, breakfast is exceptional quality.
The place is tiny, it should not be classified as a hotel as it lacks any normal hotel facilities – no garden, no restaurant, no gym – it is actually a very clean up market guest house. They seem more interested in the cash than the customer. Room 9 is a single, not a double room.
Location was good. Food was nice.
The room was sold as a suite but I would class it as a large or deluxe room, overcharging for the room type. Side table lights didn't work just kept flashing on and off, the wonderful refurb they had apparently had done was very tatty in the bathroom. Cheap chandeliers.
Rooftop balcony Room with sea view Breakfast cafe Great bathroom
Friendly staff, beautiful decor, immaculately clean. Set in brilliant location! The full English breakfast comes highly recommended!
Very squeaky floorboards, lack of facilities/staff in the evening, more like being in a hostel with beautiful furnishings.
Breakfast was superb. Excellent choice and cooked beautifully. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was wonderfully decorated with contemporary designs.
Unable to sleep due to people on floor above us whose toddler was running across the room until 3am. Everytime one of them walked across the floor we were woken up by creaking floorboards and thudding. There were specks of blood on our pillow and duvet cover.
Greeting. Room. Clean and fresh decor, bed linen crisp white and towels exceptional. Great choice for breakfast and so well presented. One of our best weekend breaks. Will recommend to friends and family and definitely stay again when visiting Devon. J woods
Great location and fabulous view. The room was beautiful and the breakfast delicious! Friendly staff.. Couldn't ask for more!
The decor was beautiful. Sadly that's were the positives stop
Service was appalling no licence to serve food outside or alcohol period -not told this before we arrived No one on reception, bar when we checked in. They tell you to call an out of hours mobile which is left behind reception unmanned didn't sleep well as could hear the out of hours phone The hotel accepted the service provided did not match the price of a room but refused to refund any money and in fact ignored my last email to them
My partner is currently in the royal marines and due to him being called away to work I was unable to stay at the hotel on our original booking. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and agreed for me to move my booking to a date where we could both attend. It's not often these days that companies are as flexible as this. I have recommended the hotel to all my family and friends and we will definitely be staying with the hotel again.
The stay was perfect, wish we could have stayed for longer.
Although hotel had been well refurbished evening restaurant was closed and no compensation was offered .when this was mentioned by us the owner grudgingly offered us a bottle of wine which we didn't receive until the following evening . The receptionist kindly offered to find us a booking in a local restaurant for that evening . However most restaurants were booked up and we had a lot of trouble finding somewhere to eat that evening . I found that very disappointing .
As above .
Staff helpful and very polite at all times. Hotel and room spotlessly clean. Also in lovely position overlooking the sea. e
good room just a bit to full with furniture leaving no room to move around.
no parking no restaurant
I really enjoyed the stay. Staff were friendly & helpful. Ideal location next to the seaside & many restaurants close by to choose from.
The hotel was clean and the breakfast + staff were excellent . The bathroom was top class !
Our room number 10 was small ! Our fault as we booked late ...... No complaints
Location, room, bathroom, breakfast, reception staff. Excellent decor, if you like that sort of thing.
Reception closes at 5pm. Evening dining room closed. I would describe it more as a serviced apartment without a kitchen, or a B&B without the presence of the owners. I believe the owner is on the premises, but very low key. Describing it differently would manage expectations better. Lovely roof terrace, but you'd need to take your own drinks to drink up there as there are no staff and nothing in the fridge in the room.
Roof balcony- excellent place with an amazing view!
