Convenient for the location I was visiting Room quite small, plumbing was not of the best quality, toilet flush was intermittent and shower temperature was variable.

As a sole traveller I felt safe at the hotel. The room was excellent [upgraded]. I loved the rubber duck in the back, I thought this was a really nice touch and not seen before. I thought the evening dinner menu was expensive @ £24.95 per head. I met a colleague and we actually left the hotel for dinner when we were actually going to stay before looking at the price.

Lovely settings Felt that the room was very expensive for what we were given - we were in the Lakeside block at the back which is completely separate from the main hotel and more like an annexe. It was a friends wedding so we didn't have any option but to stay and didn't realise beforehand that we would be accommodated at the rear of the hotel and it was £11 for 2 drinks which is more than double than we normally pay on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield. Why do hotels exploit people at Wedding Receptions??? Its always the same to make a quick buck! that aside, the full English was superb and the hotel and grounds itself are pretty spectacular. The room was clean so apart from the expense, we can't really fault it.

What an exquisite building and location. Super friendly and helpful staff and spectacular, large rooms with elegant furniture, decoration and details. The views from the rooms are gorgeous, even though it was misty and raining during our 2 night stay. Fabulous large baths in the bathrooms and just a feeling of luxury throughout the entire hotel. We stayed in room 5 which felt like a palace on the first night and then wanted to stay for a second night and had an equally lovely room no 3, just a little smaller than 5 but still superb. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious.

Excellent location and a really atmospheric feel in the old tradition of service. Beautiful appointed rooms with tranquil country views. The staff just blend into the background as it should and are not 'in your face' as in some hotels we have stayed. We think this hotel is special and will always return when we are in the location

Comfortable room, we were upgraded to a suite as the hotel was not busy. Friendly staff. Warm and well presented environment. Meal menu was the same each day. Receptionist forgot our meal booking and so we had to wait for our evening meal. Requested newspaper did not materialise.

Was very pleasantly surprised to find that our room was a suite as we had only booked a double room. Would definitely use this hotel again if we were in the area.

The staff were very friendly and tried to help with anything. The facilities were perfect for the wedding we attended. The room was clean and functional, pillows were fluffy which was great. Shower was a power shower one. For the price we paid the room was just like any other bog standard commercial hotel and you had to walk from the main hotel, outside to the Lakeside Lodge type motel accommodation. Where people who brought dogs could stay, not good for non dog lovers! No coffee sachets in room either.
