I loved how secluded it was! Perfect first getaway for me and my partner. Was like a small hidden castle in which the silence was palpable and you felt as though you were in Hall alone. Perfection. The boiler was slightly noisy in the middle of the night. The Haddon Suite was lovely - wouldn't have liked to be in the Garden Suite as it looked quite daunting and the steps may have been dangerous after a few. Wish there would have been an on site bar/restaurant.

It was a delightful and unusual hotel. with antique furniture and clever decor. It was warm and clean and staff friendly and helpful. We had hoped to be in a bedroom above stairs with a view, not in the cellar! .

We stayed in the Garden Suite which had its own access to the garden which was great as we had our dog with us. Kitchenette really useful as we were able to do our own breakfast, make tea and coffee as we pleased and keep our wine in the fridge! Also a microwave so we could have prepared a ready meal. We preferred to go to The Castle Inn which is dog friendly and has a reasonable and varied menu. Walking distance of the town. Very convenient as it is never easy to park in Bakewell. Very quiet, didn't see or hear anyone else even though we knew there were people there. No reception, phoned when we arrived in the car park and someone arrived immediately to take us to our "suite". Seemed a little strange but not a problem. I phoned the given number on the day of our departure as we were unsure about checking out and it was answered immediately so if we had had a problem I'm sure it would have been dealt with quickly. Lovely views of Bakewll. Would definitely stay again and recommend Low headroom on entry and in the bathroom. No outside light. No fixed doormat and cream carpet meant you had to take your shoes off outside. Wooden floor may have been more practical and more dog friendly

Loved the individual decoration of the room and the high standard of the furnishings. Also, being an apartment it's much nicer than the overly oppresive staff in hotels of a simlar standard. Clearer information on where/how to order breakfast.

We enjoyed the location of Bagshaw Hall, a short stroll into Bakewell & close to nearby walking routes. Stayed in the Garden Suite which was a modern decor room that was very comfortable & clean but don't expect a view as it is below ground level & the ceilings/doorway are very low. Never saw any of the staff but this was not an issue & it was a pleasure to come & go as we pleased. There was a small kitchenette & fridge in the room although we only took the basics & ate out in Bakewell for our breakfast & evening meals. Checking-in/out was via a phone call which was a little odd but worked well. For a luxury room I would have expected more luxury in it like better toiletries & a few more special touches. The room was overpriced for what we got but better than most I have stayed in. Not much room in the car park once full & you can get blocked in.

Location, views, good room. I did not realise that I had booked a self catering apartment. Thought I had booked a standard hotel, but otherwise no problem.

we liked the freedom of self catering. lucky that the big sitting room was near our room and we used it a lot, it felt like an extension of our room. when we had a heating problem it was sorted out with a phone call.. Lovely fruit bowl in the lounge area and wifi there. there is nobody on site although the lady is at the end of the phone and it worked well. our room was half in the basement so the windows were high in the wall and we were looking at the wheels of the car parked outside. i am claustrophobic but luckily was ok in it.... wifi not in our room cos of the room situation.

Pretty view from the room and good location to village. I booked this a luxury break for my husbands birthday. However the website did not state this was self catering (microwave and toaster only) and therefore no restaurant or bar. For the price we paid I would expect the attention to detail to be first class however there was no housekeeping during our stay, bins not emptied and the bed not made. There was a small basket with tea and coffee but no sugar (we asked for some but still didn't get it), the bedside lamp didn't work and we couldn't get the heating on in the bathroom. Grossly overpriced for what we received. Will not be going back.

Splendid old building, well situated near the centre of Bakewell, a delightful ancient market town. Our small (garden) appartment was ideal for us with modern fittings in an old beamed room. Good views over the area and easy access to the town. Good private car park. Very good admin service from the office in the town. Check-in /out facilitis are basic - a mobile phone call brings a caretaker to show you to your room. Our room had a garden door which we used. Access from the Hall ineterior was via a very narrow stone spiral stairway only. Steps and steep hills not ideal for anyone with mobility problems.

Overall room facilities were good, plus the additional option of using the large communal lounge. Good, safe parking facilities were a bonus in this part of the world. In the initial description on the website it fails to mention that the apartments are self-catering.

We liked the room. It was a lovely view from the room. It was in the town so we could easily walk there. The guest lounge was warm and inviting. We were greeted nicely and given some useful information. All in all, a great place to stay. There was no info booklet in the room, which would have helped a few times. We were not quite sure how to check out, but overall a lovely place to stay.

We were absolutely delighted with the whole aspect of Bagshaw Hall, so tastfully decorated and the bathroom was supperb. Just one comment to make which I am sure if attended should make this a first class stay for anyone - and that was the noisy boiler which was pumping away continuoisly throughout our stay, other than that thank you to all. Just the boiler noise......

We were very surprised to find it was an apartment hotel, therefore with no restuarant or bar facilities. However the room was delightful and we quickly filled the fridge with odds and ends for our one night stay. We were in Bakewell to go to the Chatsworth Country Fair and will certainly do it again next year and probably stay in Bagshaw. Knowing what we know now we will arrive more prepared. We were in a basement kind of room so when we return next year I will seek another room.

We loved that it was so quiet and relaxing. Only a few minutes walk down the steep hill to the town. Well appointed rooms and ideal if you want to self cater. We were upgraded from a double room to the superior room in the Sleeplodge at no extra cost, as they were unable to accommodate our requirements in the Hall. This was very much appreciated - thank you. We very much enjoyed our stay.
