The location on Bailgate is superb. Right in the heart of the old city close to good restaurants, the cathedral and castle. Very helpful staff, clean rooms and excellent lounge area. Home from home.

We booked two rooms. Very good location Bedroom a little shabby. Poorly lit. Breakfast poor and unorganised. Car parking charge unexpected and unnecessary.

Location superb, Staff most helpful on reception, although sourely on the parking gate entrance when exiting (shame!), no problem switching rooms (before arrival) when original room identified as having shared bathroom which was not acceptable. Very helpful when selecting restaurant (useful Guest Book comments too) in Lounge. Free coffee in lounge on demand.

The location Poor value for money. Over priced. For the price we paid we expected a higher level of comfort. No en-suite (our fault - we didn't read the small print).

Central location, friendly staff and a character hotel Room 4 - the only twin-bedded room, I believe - had very defective heating and it was an extremely cold weekend. The staff were very helpful.

A beautifully restored tudor building in the centre of town.Lovingly restored and deceptively large. The step into the en suite bathroom was a trip hazard that had not been pointed out.

The rooms are always nice and unique. The proximity to the tourist center. The great lounge and the honesty bar (it feels nice to be trusted with £250 champagne bottles these days).

We really enjoyed the unique medieval room, the cosey atmosphere of the public rooms, the honesty bar and the luxury. The system of cipher locks to gain access to the hotel and parking lot was a bit cumbersome, particularly the front gate as it wasn't well lit at night. Regardless, the back-up system worked in the event of failure, and the staff were obliging.

The hotel was situated in an excellent position for access to all lincoln's attractions. The lounge area was comfortable and free tea and coffee a good idea. The breakfast arrangement wasnt to our personal choice as we felt that the facitties were rather basic compared to the rest of the hotel. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom was rather cold due to the draught coming in through the window!

Fantastic location and relaxed atmosphere. Right at the heart of historic Lincoln just a stones throw from the Cathedral and Castle. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Very relaxed setting. Loved the lounge area. Best cooked breakfast! Continental breakfast was poor. Not even jam without asking. Go for the cooked breakfast - it was great.

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were a good size and comfortable (four poster room). Ideal location for anyone planning trips to Lincoln. Great restaurants within a stones throw The main drawback were having to pay for the hotels private car park (£5 per night) and there was only a shower in the room, no bath. Which was fine for me but not for my pregnant girlfriend!

It was fine but by no means exceptional. I liked the idea of the honesty bar - great to see that in a hotel these days. Comfortable though not inspiring. I wouldn't call it five star - more like 3+. The room was fine though the bathroom basic. The hotel needs a lot of TLC. Would suggest friends look around rather then just pick Bail House though you are not spoilt for choice in Lincoln. Much more could be done with a hotel in such a great location.

Apartment was great value for money, two beds and a good sized bathroom with large bath. Liked the big downstairs loungey area and complimentary hot drinks therein. Location is perfect for cathedral / castle. Staff welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended. No restaurant, but plenty nearby to choose from.

A small boutique style hotel with charcater, charm, friendly staff and in a great location for a visit to historic Lincoln. I would also recommend having your full English breakfast at the Bailhouse rooms next door - a great way to start your day.

“Our room in the Charlotte House Hotel was really spacious, the description when I booked it did not do it justice, I even asked the receptionist if our room had been upgraded for some reason but she assured me that it had not. Well done we had a super weekend break. thankyou.” Peter, Scunthorpe |
