Perfectly located in the heart of the old city. Getting in! Confusing not having a walk-in lobby

Lovely lounge for visitors to use in the hotel. complimentary tea/coffee in apartment and in hotel lounge. Large comfortable rooms in apartment - shame about the shared kitchen/lounge for the actual apartment. Very clean and tidy with friendly staff. double beds were made of two singles in both bedrooms in the apartment. Two bed shared apartment does not have own lounge/kitchen but shares with another 2 bed apartment. Didnt use honesty bar as prices were overinflated. Not always a manned reception - even during the day. Codes to apartments/bedrooms are obviously not changed. Shame hot tub not working.

Big apartment, modern facilities, close to shopping, friendly staff, early check in, relaxing lounge with complimentary hot drinks. Noise from cathedral during early hours, and car noise on gravel drive. £5 parking charge.

The location and access to the historic portion of town It would have been safer if the ice on the sidewalks had been looked after rather than waiting for it to melt

Second time I have stayed here, good central location, good value with much more character and personable touch than big hotel chains.

Centrally situated with pubs and restaurants close at hand. Bus transport into town very handy. Room was clean and comfortable. Great value for money. No double glazing made it a bit noisy early hours of the morning as the pubs closed.

The room is very cute, warmy and very suitable for couples. It would be great place to stay and chill during the summer time or even in the winter break. Good service and good staffs. I feel like I stayed at home not like other hotel. It's too cold during the winter even the heater didn't help us a lot. I think because we live in Bail Mews room2 which is located separately from the main building. However, I am so very impressed in this accommodation.

We thought Bail Mews was excellent ,lovely staff and it had a very homely feel. We had a lovely room with 4 poster bed, & I loved the way you could make yourself a drink or use the honesty bar and relax in the lounge area, as well as facilities in your room. I found the cafe area a little basic but the breakfast was good & I loved being able to have the choice of continental or full English and the appropriate payment! The location was good, so near the Castle and Cathedral and eateries. Our room wasn't en-suite we shared facilities, this wasn't a problem but may not appeal to everyone.

loved the four bed house, although in need of refurb. not many places sleep 10 people for this price, excellent value for money. our children (four cousins) loved the attic room where they all slept and had midnight feasts. great location in City centre.

If you are after somewhere to stay that is reasonably priced and central location this is the place to stay. The staff were very helpful and the honesty bar is an amazing treat. I would say you will enjoy yuor stay more if you get a room in the actual hotel side of this venture as the rooms above the tea rooms are a little tired/a climb to get to. Overall I would stay again at this hotel if not only for it's convenience! Our room was no 3 above the tea rooms. Beware if you struggle with your mobility/agility as the very very steep stairs (where the hand rail stops 3 ft from the top) and bobbing action required to get into our room was ok for us but I can see how the access could be a problem for older/elderly guests. There is also no shower (only a tap attachment) in the shared bathroom where there was only a corner bath. The roof sloped very low over this also and my 6ft3 husband struggled a bit. The place could benefit from a toilet roll holder also and a new non rusty toilet brush wouldn't go a miss! We had no issues with the sharing of a bathroom but I can see how this could become a problem if lodging with other bathroom hoggers!! Plaiting of legs would be needed!

The staff were really helpful and came to find me and locate me to carpark. The cottage was lovely and I will most certainly be staying with them again. One thing I really liked was that they made the rooms really homely and they even had hair conditioner :) The only thing that was the parking, when busy you were blocked in by other cars and the entrance was very tight, but otherwise good and very secure.
