Bailbrook House, Bath

We liked the lovely grounds which were well kept and had an abundance of trees. The staff were very pleasant at all times and were most helpful and comforting when I lost my purse ( now returned ). The food we had at the hotel was excellent even in the absence of an al a carte menu.

We stayed one night for my sons graduation, but would have loved to have stayed longer.

The bar was upstairs and not very atmospheric, no bar downstairs to take a drink onto the patio.

The hotel is set in very nice grounds and is quite convenient to the city however it is a fair walk if you are not active and I would`nt like to walk it after dark. Very good breakfast and excellent service.

We stayed 2 nights and then stayed another night on our way back up again a few days later. The room on the first 2 nights was disappointing as it had a strong damp smell. I reported this when checking out and said that I did not want this room when I returned as a result the room we had on our second stay was very good.

We wanted a base to visit Bath and found the hotel excellent for this. It took approx. 20 mins to walk to centre of Bath and was a £6 taxi fare back. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, the breakfast was adequate and staff curteous and attentive. We would return if paying another visit to Bath.

The cooked breakfast was not good either to look at or taste (my husband ate one but I was put off by unappetising look of it). The continental fare was excellent, real juice, nice preserves and fruit, cereal etc good.

Friendly service, good food, beautiful setting and grounds.

There was an aweful smelling plant/bush right in front of the window - this made the entire room smell. Please consider planting Jasmine / Roses or anything else! Also, no airconditioner - room was hot with little fresh air. Jacuzzi and Sauna out of order.

Well placed for visiting the area. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet and relaxing. Helpfulness of staff.

Rooms looking a little tired in need of refurbishment. Approach road needs resurfacing.

booked extyra bed but none in room- no tea or milk- had to ask for it

The only thing I can say is that the other guests were incredibly noisey knocking on other doors and banging the fire doors till 3 in the morning. other than that, which is out of your control, it was a nice stay.

First trip away after a hospital stay and we found this hotel relaxing and quiet, with lovely grounds and good food and would definately go back to enjoy it further in the near future.
