Friendly welcoming staff, very good value for money, excellent breakfast, character property.
no dislikes whatsoever
Very good breakfast. Very helpful and polite staff. On site parking.
Bit far out of centre of Bath. Very small room.
The location was good the garden was pleasant my friend liked the champagne with breakfast. good supplies of tea and coffee in the room
The room was dated and grubby - my headboard was dusty which was a real turn off. My duvet was too heavy and to big for a single bed. Pillows not very good and I really didn't sleep
Beautiful place Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Comfortable rooms
Bit drafty Hard mattresses
It was lovely and quite.Comfy beds. And brilliant breakfast. Good bus service into the city.
Champagne breakfast, staff very friendly and informative
Room was small with sink outside ensuite
Friendly helpful staff++
Ageing a bit! Our room was a bight small, but served its purpose.uuu
The Lodge is separate from the fancy hotel which means you don't get the hotel facilities but in return it is a wonderful, quirky, quiet place with a large and incredible garden. The managers were extremely helpful and enthusiastic. Regular bus into Bath centre passes within a few minutes walk and so could leave car at Lodge and easily travel in and out (and benefit from being in quieter area).
Not so much didn't like as quirkiness was part of its charm, but the bathroom attached to the large garden suite we had low ceilings so showering etc posed a certain challenge (in other words, if you're over 6 foot, consider booking one of the other rooms).
Easy to find, easy to park, traditionally furnished, very helpful staff, great choice of breakfasts; we plan to return again.
Excellent breakfast. Attractive gardens and building.
Slightly cramped bedrooms.
The b+b was very nice. We stayed in a four poster bedded room. Very spacious.Breakfast was excellent lots of choice. Staff were helpful and friendly.
It was a little further from the city centre than I hoped for. We had to bus it, back and forward. Also the room was a little hot so had to sleep with the window open, which meant the road close by was a little noisy.
Amazing stay made to feel like we were at home, the location was great just on the outskirts of bath and the bus service was frequant.
One of our rooms was very poor with an inadequate shower room.
Staff and good breakfast
Very tiny room not worth for price
Staff was friendly.
I didn't like the fact that when I arrived in my family room which was set below ground level, that the windows had been left open which I promptly closed We checked in and were told that no staff would be on duty past 10:00 pm. Upon arriving, we left for dinner in downtown Bath and didn't return until much later than 10:00 pm. Upon arriving in our room, we were greeted by all sorts of flying bugs, spiders crawling on all of the walls and in the canopy bed, snails were crawling along the baseboards and there were snail trails crossing the carpet. I had to stand on chairs to reach the ceiling and kill the spiders and bugs. Cobwebs covered the chandalier and the inside of the canopy bed. I actually had 2 rooms, the first was fine, however, those of us in the family room ended up sleeping with a single sheet pulled over our heads to avoid any bugs or spiders getting to us as we slept. In addition, we were unable to shower as the newly remodeled bathroom had a shower where the ceiling was completely covered in mold. When we asked for reimbursement we were told by Booking.com that it is up to Bailbrooke to compensate us and Booking.com has no resposibility to address the issue. We were on a 2+ week vacation in the UK and travel extensively abroad. We stayed in 8 different hotels over 2 weeks and this was unacceptable and when given the opportunity to make it right neither Bailbrooke nor Booking.com were willing to give us anything other than a weekday stay back in this same hotel in England. I would say this was unacceptable customer service by both parties.
a great venue. Great breakfast. Lovely friendly staff..
Long climb to top room. no facility for shower. big bath in bathroom without shower curtain.Sign mentions that if there is water damage guest may be responsible.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Easy parking. A TV with all the freeview channels! Nice little touches - champagne breakfast, chocolate on the pillow etc.
The staff - all very freindly & helpful, good sense of humour : particularly liked the manageress (Jacqui)?
Nothing - only stayed a night for the races, but all very good
Even though the hotel is not located in city centre, it is still easy to get to the centre by either bus or taxi. The place is quite stylish. If you like 19th-century vintage houses, this is a perfect place. No need to mention how lovely the garden is.
My mother saw a ghost beside her bed at night. But we have to bear in mind every old house has a story to tell; it has history. So, this is not really 'what i didn't like'. Instead, I think this is cool, isn't it?
The welcome and general hospitality of the staff. Check in and out was fast and efficient, and the breakfasts were super, all in all just about all you could ask for.
Prefect location to explore Bath while being on the outskirts. The location was easy to find and the staff friendly. Local bus service outside door which meant that you did not incur the time constraints in parking when visiting Bath
Room small and very dark.
After a few visits to Bath found the location on outskirts of town ideal to avoid the traffic in centre. Also ease of access from M4 motorway. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choices.
I like the area which hotel is situated. Very quiet, nice big garden. Staff was helpful. Good breakfast. It is good hotel for this money.
Croissant was not fresh backed.
The breakfast was excellent, the bed comfy, and plenty of parking, and the price
The room was small, it would be ok as a single, but we had to leave some luggage in the car. Maybe we should book a bigger room next time
