My particular favourite was the enormous bed in the Famille Rose room. I had a fantastic night's sleep. And fizz at breakfast another pleasure.
Used wine glasses not removed by the chamber staff when the room was cleaned. For the price, I expected better.
Loved the setting and the gardens which our huge room overlooked. Phil was lovely and looked after us incredibly well. The location is a short walk into the centre of town, perfect for visiting Bath.
The bed was uncomfortable, it felt as though we were sloping towards the middle.
i like romantic bed and breakfast .
Loved the effort made with breakfast set up, heavenly hotel pillows and helpful staff.
The comfort of the room and the location. The quality of the food. The friendly staff
The WiFi was not available in the rooms. This would be expected these days as standard.
the breakfast is fabulous.
we were waken up every morning about 6:30a.m. by the walking noise when the restaurant starts to service. We lived in the basement room.
Everything was adequate
Wallpaper plus matching curtains a bit loud, shower took a long time to warm up, TV in a bad position, a guest house not a hotel.
The bedroom was fantastic and bed amazingly comfortable. The lodge was just perfect not to big and not to small. Breakfast and service just right.
No bath! we had a walk in shower room with toilet, I have to say when ever we go away to a hotel, there has to be a bath!!! but shower was fine this time. And being married to a plumber, you have hard water, so to get full pressure from shower try and get rid of build up of corrotion in the holes in shower head. sorry but you need to sort that!!
Comfortable stay and nice staff. Close to town but don't take the bus - really expensive. Walk in and enjoy the shops on the way.
£3.50 for two cans of drink when the room was hot. Turned the heaters off second day. A trivial thing.
A really friendly welcome, lovely views from our room and a gorgeous champagne breakfast- perfect for our short stay
Character of property
Very bad value for money
Friendly staff Beautiful building Excellent breakfast Comfortable bed Very clean - incl. bathrooms
Slightly further out of town than would be ideal, but still not that far (20/30min walk)
The staff were first class and couldn't do enough to make one it a pleasant stay
The bathroom facilities in the Garden suite were very poor indeed, given the price of the accommodation. The quality of food (breakfast) was similarly poor, given the cost of the accommodation. Staff working in the kitchen and dining room, located above the suite could be clearly heard moving about and operating equipment from about 6 am onwards.
frieindly staff... good breakfast menu... good value on the discounted rate... lovely building...
a little to far out of town especially in the winter... no proper bar and only limited snacks available after breakfast... very poor 02 network coverage... not told about free wifi... limited supply of coffee and milk. and toilet rolls... (available when asked for)... rooms small by modern standards...
All the little extras such as fresh coffee available in the room and choc mints on the pillows. The room was furnished superbly and nice and warm. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown around the lodge, which is in a beautiful setting. Breakfast was very good indeed and plenty of it. We would definitely stay again.
That our stay was over, I didn't want to go home!
The location was very pretty, the service and breakfast was second to none, the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly
Helpful staff Awesome manager Room was nice, classy Area was quiet, taxi away from centre Front yard for relaxation
This is a great place to stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the beds are really comfortable. The staff are very helpful, particularly Phil. Nothing was too much trouble and we even received a bottle of wine in our room for free as a Christmas treat! Would definitely stay here again
Nothing. We had a car so the location was fine for us. Without a car it is a bit of a walk into Bath city centre. Can easily get the bus into town.
Although the four poster was the sell to me, I paid £307 for three nights. The price rose to £450 after I had booked. I would have been disappointed at that price. That said we had a great stay. Good food and what I would expect as decore for this old property. The roaring fire in the lounge area was nice. It is a 1/2 hour walk to the city along a straight road that takes you direct to the cathedral. You would have to jog to do the 20 mins quoted.
The duvet kept spiking us as it Was filled with feathers.
Nice locations and size rooms
Our four poster bed had two small single mattress pushed together which was a little uncomfortable at time, this was slightly disappointing and a let down....
A lovely building with a cosy atmosphere. Lovely log fires and a bar you would have in your own lounge! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They even congratulated us on our anniversary with Champagne! Will stay there again.
I liked everything I can o comment on one thing in paticular
Easy location and easy getting into town.
I thought the room was a little small for its size. The bed took up most of the room. Also the manhole was blocked and a nasty smell was coming from there. Told the manager and he quickly took care of it. Job done..
