We were delighted with our (unfortunately brief) stay at Bailbrook Lodge. The staff were superb - very friendly and helpful - and the facilities were excellent. We have never seen a caffetiere and ground coffee supplied in a room before, not an i-pod dock! The whole ambience of the Hotel greatly incresed our feeling of welcome and comfort. We don't often get to that part of the country, but would definitely stay at the Hotel again when in the area!

It is a comfortable clean B&B with traditional furnishings. The service was outstanding, and the location was good. 2 miles walk to city center and a 10 minute walk the other direction to a great dining spot, the Bathampton Mill. The morning breakfasts were very good, with a range of choices from the full English, to cereal, to Scottish Kippers. Nice!

Lovely warm welcome at reception and the room was excellent, very clean and warm with a view of the gardens. Lounge area was very restful where we sat enjoying a glass of wine. The breakfast was really good ,so much that my wife could'nt finish it all. This beautiful Georgian House has so much character and is a lovely restful place to stay that we will be returning in the near future. Also the staff were wonderful so many thanks to them.

Being of an architectural background, I was extremely interested in the history of Bailbrook .Lodge - I found the quality of the biulding first class, the location unbeatable, and the service impeccable - I would strongly recommend this Hotel to anyone. There were nice touches added by the owners that were often missing or not even thought .of by other establishments Mattress a bit on the firm side - otherwise nothing serious to complain about

Small friendly hotel - handy for walking into Bath even though you felt you were in the countryside - really quiet with lovely views & garden. Excellent service (with complimentary pot of tea served in the lounge on arrival) & excellent breakfast- everything you could wish for! Good range of drinks in rooms & added luxury of fresh fruit, chocolate & biscuits. Room was quite small but not a problem. Very comfy bed with good quality sheets. Also liked the radio/alarm docking station in room along with TV with DVD player (choice of DVD's in reception). We would definitely stay here again & have already recommended it to friends & work colleagues.

The breakfast was the highlight. The food was excellent and the moring staff were very friendly. The day / evening staff seemed preoccupied with other duties rather than make us feel welcome. Our room was very small which made the experience seem over-priced and disappointing. The bar is hardly a bar, it's a cupboard.

Our main purpose in staying was there was the feel of a Country House - we were all from Australia - and the proximity to Bath and to Stonehenge. We loved the four poster bed in our room and it was a nice change from the typical hotel room. Breakfast was excellent even for our big eaters and the rooms were nice and quiet. We appreciated the basket of assorted beverages, it was a pleasant change from plain tea & coffee. We were travelling with a group which included two young children,(2 &3), and the Garden Suite suited that family well except that the extra charge was a bit pricey for such young children. The lodge is not a hotel but a very good B&B effectively. This suited us well but may not suit everybody.

sadly there was damp on the shower room wall, causing a musty smell in the bedroom. On 2 walls wallpaper was lifting. 1st day breakfast great, 2nd not as good, very few staff- all rushing about and not giving a good level of service. waited 30 mins for cooked breakfast, not good on day of departure when time was tight. The staff were very helpful, We were given ground floor room as per request. i would not rate this 4*. have stayed in better for same / less money. Would not go back, 2.5mile from city centre. Not 1.5 as advertised which meant unable to walk into town. A little isolated for evening meal choices.

The family accommodation was excellent - very spacious and comfortable. DVD players in each room and free DVDs were a great bonus. Staff couldn't be more friendly. The bathroom was very small with no heater but it was perfectly functional.
