On the banks of the Avon River, Old Mill Hotel & Lodge has lovely gardens and stunning views of the countryside surrounding Bath. It is on a site that housed a flour mill until 1907.
Score from 1426 reviews Good
Dating back to 1880, this fine Victorian mansion is set a 10-minute walk from the center of Bath. It offers luxurious rooms with views of the Royal Crescent or the well-tended gardens.
Score from 557 reviews Wonderful
Bailbrook House is a Grade II heritage-heritage-listed property, set on 20 acres of private grounds, with commanding views towards central Bath and the countryside.

Further away from local restaurants than I thought, however, the pub 10 minutes walk away was very good. Would have liked a better snack selection - this did not detract from our stay though
Lovely peaceful location, easy to get in to Bath Centre by bus. We felt very well 'looked after', nice little touches from the hotel (chocolates and card for my mums birthday, filter coffee in room, champagne at breakfast)
Bailbrook lodge was everything and more...very friendly and helpful staff, lovely choice at breakfast, and nice relaxing garden.
My stay was too short
Arrival greeting was really quick and efficient
Uncomfortable bed.room in need of a lick of paint.
Friendly staff.Free wifi.Nice breakfasts.good views from room.Easy to get into Bath, bus stop nearby or drive.
Our bathroom was very small, hot water in our shower was only luke warm. We had the room at the top of the house which was small. My mothers room was much bigger on the lower floor.
Easy to drive and park there, lounge and dining room overlooked the lovely gardens. Nice walk to Bathhampton Mill for great dinners and excellent scenery. Breakfast excellent
No one mentioned breakfast finished at 9.30 on a weekday so we missed a fry up on Monday morning which was a shame, we still had bacon sandwiches and fruit, cereal and coffee.
Easy parking, lots of buses and taxi's available to get you into Bath. Beautiful period home made into a first class b&b.
we had a bath in our bathroom and we prefer showers but didnt warrant any complaints as our stay was excellent
chilled, quiet, comfortable, helpful, friendly, great breakfast, well sited just out of town.
Easy bus access to city center. Parking on site. Excellent breakfast. Roomy family suite.
Decor and size of the room
Breakfast and staff friendliness
The location is a good two miles from the centre, a fair walk, but easier to catch local bus outside the lodge.
A lovely old building with modern facilities. Good food and very accommodating pleasant staff.
The standard rooms are quite small and the wash basin is in the bedroom but the facilities are adequate.
We have stayed here every year over the past 5 years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful, the accommodation very good and the breakfasts excellent.
We wished we had booked a suite as double room rather small
Champagne for breakfast!
Hi when we went up to our room the room was tiny espically for the amount if money we paid when I asked if rooms were bigger was told it's an old building but all the other guest have more better rooms this room should not be used not big enough to swing a cat in.
Because it is an old building sound proofing is limited. Stayed in the garden suite the bathroom is small and through the twin bedroom, despite very large bed rooms.
Very comfortable beds. Traditional old world charm. Luxury furniture and fittings. Slippers in room lots of bathroom goodies, generous tea and coffee. Great traditional fresh cooked breakfast. Private easy parking, outside the hotel. Easy to find with car, just outside bath.
there was nothing that i didn't like. I had a lovely stay.
The house was lovely as was my room. We stayed in the garden suite with the four poster bed and adjoining room with twin beds. Champaign breakfast was delicious. All made a special night away
Insufficient information in the room as to the log-on information for free Wi-Fi. Only spotted the very small sticker on the OUTSIDE of the room door as we were leaving.
Small, but comfortable room with lovely views. Friendly staff served a marvellous breakfast !
Slipper bath in our room had a very wobbly bottom! Which made it interesting to get into, also no proper shower just a hand held device which had a warning next to it, warning not to use as a proper shower as it would flood the floor and guests would be charged for damage! Manageress was less than cheerful, it seemed a real inconvenience when we wanted to pay and check out! Other staff lovely.
Beautiful building and well located near an excellent bus route into Bath(less than 10 mins.) parking is difficult and expensive in Bath and traffic always slow, the bus moved quickly due to the bus lane....very helpful.
Excellent Breakfast and very convenient for visiting Bath town centre. We have used the hotel before and would use it again.
Was promoted as an hotel but turned out to be a B&B, so was a little disappointed from that point of view
Lovely, comfortable and spacious four-poster bed. Breakfast was OK.
Long wait for breakfast on the monday - staff not as efficient even though less guests. Bed very comfortable but small, window sealed shut so no fresh air in room.
Complimentary toiletries, breakfast choice, bedding, overall standard of facilities.
Couldn't stream Netflix or bbc I player off the wifi. Bar wasn't open past ten.
Friendly staff, 2 ladies dressed in period Jane Austen clothes at breakfast in the bay window on Sunday! Amazing room and lovely old furniture, epic four poster bed, great room. Pricey but just about worth the treat expenditure. Mix your breakfast champagne with orange juice and you don't feel so guilty... Amazing breakfast options. Bathampton mill 10 min walk away was a really great place to go to eat, wooden everything inside looked amazing.
Used wine glasses not removed by the chamber staff when the room was cleaned. For the price, I expected better.
My particular favourite was the enormous bed in the Famille Rose room. I had a fantastic night's sleep. And fizz at breakfast another pleasure.
The bed was uncomfortable, it felt as though we were sloping towards the middle.
Loved the setting and the gardens which our huge room overlooked. Phil was lovely and looked after us incredibly well. The location is a short walk into the centre of town, perfect for visiting Bath.
i like romantic bed and breakfast .
Loved the effort made with breakfast set up, heavenly hotel pillows and helpful staff.
