The relaxed and various lounges also the bistro was very warm and welcoming if u did not want the fine dining option
Large room size
Lack of atmosphere in bar
The hotel is situated in such grand settings it's a pity that it is in need of some care and attention to cleanliness - just a good wipe in the bathroom is all it takes.
Room 107, massive. Lovely bath
Breakfast was ok, but for this price it should be cooked to order, not lying in hot plates getting rubbery which the fried eggs were.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff in reception were friendly and very efficient
Attention at breakfast could have been better. There was noone to seat you and cutlery, butter, fruit and fruit juice where not available or replenished
A truly wonderful experience, we arrived quite late in the evening so the hotel porter kindly made us food and drinks. The staff were very attentive, our room was amazing, the location is perfect for those with transport who wish to travel around North East Scotland as we did.
The friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was Excellent
Food in the bistro was of good quality and reasonably priced for a hotel of this nature
Service at the bar (long bar I think) is a little hit and miss
Clean tidy, great food, comfortable room.
great Location in the green - very quiet
Lovely room Beautiful grounds
Car parking could be better
Charming rooms, each one is unique and spacious Good choice of fine dining restaurant or bistro Vast gardens for walks and jogging Wifi in the rooms
The TVs in the room is a bit worn out and small (given the size of the rooms!) Everything else is a drive away from this secluded hotel.
Everything about the stay was wonderful. A fabulous house, attentive staff without being intrusive. Room exceeded expectations as we were given a suite. Views into the park were super. Good quality breakfast. I would definitely go back again. Wish I could have stayed Longer. Even my husband was happy to stay.
Deep Gravel car park as we travelled on a large touring bike, thought it was going to sink & tip!
Beautiful hotel in peaceful location.
Location and grounds are a major positive.
The bar was effectively closed by 10:30 though in fairness the front desk did offer to call the night porter. Also the dining arrangements are quite regimented with specific times.
Beautiful room And gardens
No tv in lounge area but not an issue
Good wifi network in the room. Quiet and beautiful gardens. Two excellent restaurants at the hotel.
The TV/entertainment systems in the room could do with an upgrade.
Booked a standard room & got a fantastic suite. Ambience of hotel excellent. Staff all very attentive.
Car parking a little far from entrance. No handrail on steps to entrance
Big rooms Free wifi throughout Good bistro

Lovely historic building in its own grounds. Plenty of communal space and a great environment to relax in.
