In Dundee's West End, Balgowan is a stunning mansion house built circa 1900. The house has many elegant period features, along with free Wi-Fi and free parking. All of the spacious rooms at Balgowan are beautifully furnished and have a flat-screen TV and a DVD player. Some rooms have panoramic views of the botanical gardens and the Tay river. Dundee Airport is within easy reach and shopping centers are nearby. A traditional cooked Scottish breakfast is provided and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. Hotel Rooms: 3

Fantastic boutique style hotel with lovely views over the river Tay. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. I spend a fair bit of time traveling and usually find hotel beds to be much less comfortable than my own but the bed I slept in here was really comfortable and I will definately book here again. Host was very friendly and welcoming.

The owner Richie isn't instrusive unlike other b&b owners, and the house feels very much like a home from home. The views from the front bedroom are excellent and quiet and tastly decorated.

This is a beautiful house with large rooms which a comfortable and well presented. Richie, the host, was friendly, helpful and obliging. I will definately be using this bed and breakfast again as I regularly frequent Dundee and it's hard to find comfort and good value like this.

I had a wonderful time at this very well located house. My bedroom was extremely confortable and had a privileged view..The whole place is beautifully decorated in a very charming way that mixtures antiques and modern pieces. The owner is very friendly and takes care of the guests in person and makes people fell very much at home.

Friendly but not intrusive. Lovely big room in a beautiful house. We had the Garden room - private and views over the Tay. Also a small covered terrace to sit out on if wished - super! This is a room which has recently been bought into use for b & b we understand and we would definitely stay in it again. Good breakfast. Mobile phone signal variable to none, if that matters to you. Could do with a shaving light in the en-suite and mirror in the main bedroom area (for use when drying one's hair etc)

Balgowan is a magnificently restored property which boasts a stunning location, overlooking Dundee's botanic gardens, looking out over the River Tay. The Proprietor is a very personable young man, who made us feel very welcome and prepares/serves an excellent breakfast! The rooms are very spacious - our's featuring an enormous king-size bed. An ambiance of luxury has been created by the combination of modern soft furnishings with traditional furniture. Although the location is away from the centre of Dundee, it is particularly relaxing, ideal for those wishing to chill-out. Not many rooms available so guests are made to feel special. Superb and highly recommended.

The hotel overlooks the Botanic Gardens and has an absolutely stunning view. The room was luxurious and quiet, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I was given a late checkout without having to ask, and was simply made to feel completely at home.
