The staff, the accomodation, the dinner and the setting of the hotel
We liked everything and will be going back next time we need to treat ourselves but
Comfortable stay, charming and helpful staff.
The atmosphere and the friendly staff. We were a company of three couples and found the hotel lovely. We arrived in time for the Scotland match only to find the hotel had no sky tv , so no football. Also no disabled access as had to carry our cases the whole distance to our rooms but we are Aberdeenshire folk and managed ok. We were the table who got the big fat caterpillar on our table at breakfast !! It was not on the menu !!
Location, food and ambience of the house.
Annex rooms a little disappointing could do with an upgrade.
The staff were so helpful and professional. The dinner was wonderful. The room was great with a separate little sitting area. A real find!
The position of the hotel, wonderful scenery, very pleasant and helpful staff. Altogether a wonderful stay.
Our reception, friendly and attentive staff, comfort and general air of gentility. The walks were particularly good without being over-strenuous.
The sodium security lights at night.
Idyllic location and local walks Fantastic meal in the restaurant Attentive service Very friendly atmosphere (staff and guests)
Slightly basic feel to our room in The Sportsman's Lodge
Excellent food. Flavours were well thought out and amazing. You have to eat here.
All around great little hotel in a lovely location. Great service and food. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Nothing to Report :)
This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The staff couldn't do enough for you, the food was wonderful and the whole surrounding countryside was so peaceful
For one night different to. Comment
Staff did not advise on a) how chalet door opens b) newspaper not delivered but meant to pick up using busy breakfast as excuse c) no fish show twice on breakfast menu available which is poor given the fishing location d) dogs in adjacent room left on own in spite of not allowed e) bar table not wiped before sitting down
Staff very friendly and professional, food excellent and tranquil setting
Room too warm
More confort for this money
Annex provided chalet style, good value accommodation but added benefit of breakfast being served in the main hotel.
Room was maybe a bit sparse in décor but was as expected, given the booking price.
The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. The food was excellent. Lovely location on the riverbank.
As we could not experience any facilities there was nothing we could judge.
There is one room where dogs are allowed which serves soup and sandwiches. We had to sit in a bedroom and order expensive room service as the dog could not be left unattended. We had booked for 2 days, but had to cancel the 2nd day.
Great hotel in wonderful grounds.
History, curb appeal, grounds, remoteness.
Has been, tired, not well maintained, baby blue and ruffled and soiled carpet, rather over priced meals. Good venue for a wedding party, and shows the ware of many.
Location and food
delighted that it has kept the 'old' traditional standards. Nothing was self service everything personal. Restaurant service and wide choice of food were excellent.
No swimming pool and dust had collected around the mirror in our room - minor but still need pointing out.
Our room in the Riverhouse block overlooked the river. It was spacious and comfortable.
The price of the meals is high and a fair drive for anywhere else to eat.
