There is a welcome, informal feel to this hotel as soon as you walk through the door. The rooms are spacious and bright and very clean. The situation, just a road-width away from the Antrim coastline, is worth the visit alone. Restaurant is ok but choice not great and staff a little inexperienced and unwilling to come forward to take orders for food and drink.

Very scenic setting overlooking the sea and mountains/gardens at the back. Try to find time to wander around the Hotel gardens, which were very quiet and spiritual when I was there. The staff are exceleent, the food is truly delicious and very well presented. I cannot fault this hotel.

The Hotel was lovely quiet and peaceful with beautiful gardens to the rear of the Hotel and seaviews to the front. The Hotel had its own resident Ghost in the Tower of the Castle which was quite interesting their buffett style breakfast was nice and had a wide variety to choose from. Although the buffet style breakfast was nice it could have been a bit warmer and on the second morning of entering the breakfast room there were no members of staff around to take your tea or coffee order unlike the morning before they all seemed to be too busy chatting amongst themselves in the kitchen to look to see if any guests had arrived for their breakfast.

I thought bar prices for wine cider and food was too expensive. I arrived at midnight and it was £5 for a small glass of red wine, £5 for a very basic small ham sandwich, and around £4 for a cider, so I felt it was too expensive and choose alternative locations for further food and drink during my stay.

Clean tidy, not expensive, good staff, open fire when you can get it, food was really good. Will be back soon. The cover on the mattress came off and was really hard to sleep on. I should have got up and removed it.

Breakfast was very very good ---wide selection . There was a lovely tranquil feel about the place and its location on the sea front couldnt be better. Our room was spacious and loved having a sofa in the room --- it gave a very relaxed feel to it . Also --its a small detail --but the lovely curtains added a lightness---as most hotels opt for the -sensible practical dark colours. Well done all round . I feel that a little background music in Diningroom and Bar would be a nice touch . Free newspapers too would be appreciated . While the staff were very efficient and courteous and polite --there was no feeling that they were connected with us --no bit of rapport or enquiries as to how we were enjoying our stay ---a bit impersonal. ---- . except the girl at breakfast. I know that everyone has their work to do and dont have much time for individual chat --so its not a big deal.

The price for the hotel was excellent through booking.com. It was much more expensive if you called the hotel to book. Room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was huge (2 x singles put together though). Check in was done quickly and the room allocated to me was a lovely size.I Requested Ice and this was brought to my room so quickly....excellent service!! Although I have some small points to make this hotel was lovely and the setting is beautiful if you wish to explore the Antrim Coast. When I book next time I will arrive earlier to enjoy the view and restaurant! The bed was comfortable but was let down by the sheets being too small and they did not tuck in so I ended up sleeping on the mattress by morning. The breakfast was very good except im glad we came down when it was quiet.....The buffet cart was in a small corner and the plates were roasting hot. You had to make your own toast also which takes 2 turns in the machine. Caused a bit of chaos at first cos people were reaching over eachother etc ......needs some fine tuning regarding set up. Also pastries were not covered and were sitting out (flies about) Just not what you wish to see.....I Also requested a seaview but did not get one (I did arrive later than expected so this wasnt the end of the world).

The friendly staff and the location. We stayed overnight on route to Scotland via the ferry from Larne. The location was therefore excellent. The breakfast was good. There was a small step outside our room which was not made clear, I.E. it was carpetted the same as the rest of the floor. Unfortunately I fell down this step and badly twisted my ankle. As we were hoping to do some walking in Scotland this caused me some problem. I think the step should be marked in some way.

The location is great, right beside the sea. Parking is very convenient. The room was spacious, with a bath in the bathroom, and a good view. The Castle has atmosphere, enhanced by its resident ghost.

The staff were very friendly and happy to assist in any way possible. The one thing that did not match the general standard for the rest of the hotel was the breakfast. The food was luke warm at best and if it were not for the hot plates it would have been freezing. Of our stay this was the only negative.
