There is a welcome, informal feel to this hotel as soon as you walk through the door. The rooms are spacious and bright and very clean. The situation, just a road-width away from the Antrim coastline, is worth the visit alone. Restaurant is ok but choice not great and staff a little inexperienced and unwilling to come forward to take orders for food and drink.

We needed a short overnight, and the location was very good. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meals in the Restaurant and found them to be good value. On a rainy Monday morning there were comfortable seats by a window where we could relax and read. A leisure centre would have been welcome

Breakfast Very expensive (>70 pound), for little service and faclitities. The second hotel maintaining this ancient policy on our 28-day trip around England/Ireland (all nights in hotels/B&Bs). We tried to book Titanic Belfast with a wifi-connection of our mobile telephone, but was only impossible after paying an additional 6 pounds. Next day, we were told that it was sold out, so the hotel could not book it for us. So we booked a few minutes later, over a 2 pound coffee with free wifi access, 2 admissions for that very same morning. Furthermore an noisy room, because of a condensor of an airconditioner not belonging to the room.

The staff were very quick to help adjust a room from a double to a twin for my teenage children. I really miss a spa area.

Enjoyed very relaxing venue in comfort. Very comfortable room and good attention from all staff. Disappointed that the spa was not better advertised as I was not aware until leaving to go home that the castle had a spa facility.

The warm and friendly welcome from all the staff we met set the scene for a very relaxing break . The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the sea.The variety of food available for breakfast was of a very high standard and the evening meal we had in the dining room was excellent. The bar staff are very attentive and efficient. Overall the experience of staying at the Ballygalley Castle was extremely enjoyable. We will be back!

Ballygally Castle is a beautifull hotel in a breath taking place and it was a perfect location for our visit to friends living in Larne also we traveled North to the causeway coast which was perfect. The service was not good as I feel the staff were to young and inexperienced and the manager was not doing his job at all. The food was not value for money and also we were left waiting while the young waitress chatted with other people whom she knew. The Friday 30th Mar there was a wedding at the castle and as a result there were no seats for other guests at the bar so we and other guests staying at the castle had to sit in the reception area which consisted of four chairs. Very bad management. On the Sat morning when we went down for breakfast all the plates were stuck together with food and having worked at a hotel myself for 8 years I know this means that the dish water was never changed ( Again very bad management also the manager wiped our table and left it feeling sticky . So it was very sad to be in such a nice hotel with very poor staffing. If the manager was doing his job I would have no problem recomending this hotel to all my friends but as it was I don't know that I would stay again. Also we had to park our car down the road as not space to park when the weddiing party were there .

The setting was nice, by the sea with pretty gardens. The castle part was small, but added character. Nice comfy rooms, excellent breakfast, good afternoon tea. A party occurred in the restaurant while we were there and the noise kept us awake until the wee hours of the morning.

great location, ocean out the front window - convenient to the Giant's Causeway, Old Bushmills and Dunluce castle to the west and Carrickfergus and Belfast to the east and south. Free wifi would be nice - better temperature control in the hotel - the room was too hot.

The atmosphere at the hotel was brilliant. The room was very cosy and the restaurant where we had breakfast was lovely. The view from the windows when we woke up was astonishing, and the staff was helpful and very polite. The pressure in the shower was a little bit low.

I was very impressed with the room, the staff, the location. The sound of the Irish Sea just out the window was amazing. I loved the Ghost Room - it's really thoughtful to keep the ghost on your side by offering her a room. It kind of freaked me out a bit that the bed wasn't made in her room. I couldn't figure out if it had been made and she'd been there or if that was for some kind of spooky authenticity. I was too skeered to ask! Food was really good too.
