Easy to get around the city from this location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room seemed small, but I since I was visiting museums and historic sites that was all I needed.
It was nice that breakfast was included but eggs were over cooked. The time I stayed in London was broken up, so I had two different rooms and the wireless connection was very inconsistant.
Very impressed about everything.
Nice staff - very helpful Clean room Clean bedding Good pillows Filling breakfast Decaf coffee 11am checkout
Wi-fi didn't work
Requested a double bed but didnt get one, only found out when opening the room door. If I would have known the double bed rooms were all booked out I would have gone with another hotel. Futhermore the wifi connection on the top floor was non-existant...
staff was very good especially the kitchen and maid service
TV didn't work and was not fixed even after I complained 3 times
clean, efficient staff
eggs pre cooked and were overdone every morning. Change the sausage brand. Have cream for coffee like most north americans prefer. Hours for breakfast should be extended for those who want a later starrt
close to tube stations
doors slamming annoying
-price -location -cleaning
-No lift. - Very small bathroom . - TV screen is small.
Welcoming and friendly. The hotel is well kept, clean and fresh. Looks like it was recently redone. Close to Paddington. Very enjoyable stay.
It was conveniently located
The room was very small
The lady who welcomed us at reception was very kind and helpful.
Obviously location, especially to Paddington Station, walking distance to. Where we were to catch our train next day back home as the last stage in our journey from America, and to the underground which makes the rest of london and its sights accessible. It was basic but clean and suited our needs.
Not a dislike, but odd having the hotel on both sides of the street, had to cross the road for breakfast. The dining room was packed, would have liked a little bit more space and comfort, but the service in the circumstances was quick and breakfast was ok.
Clean facilities, a comfortable bed and friendly staff. Very convenient location for the Tube.
The breakfast room was too small so people had to queue to get their breakfast. There was no lift which was hard work when climbing 6 flights of stairs. Some of the bedrooms are in the other building on the opposite side of the road so people have to go outside for their breakfast. The Wi-Fi didn't work. The en-suite was tiny. We will not be staying here again.
This hotel is perfectly placed. The staff are helpful and efficient. The room was clean and perfect for our short stay. We would use this hotel again and recommend to others
We have had bigger bathrooms however it served its purpose.
The desk clerk was a very nice and helpful person. The location was *excellent*. The bacon and orange juice were great.
It would have been helpful if the restaurant staff could understand English better. Of course, they certainly can't be expected to know every language. The bathroom was way too small. The eggs and croissants weren't that tasty. One BIG bed (instead of two tiny ones) would have been great.
Stairs (if on floor 3 - 74 stairs) Having to walk across road for breakfast, then waiting for breakfast and being told that breakfast was from 6.30am to 8.30pm. Staff have to go upstairs to clean!. We arrived at 8.10am and had to wait 30 minutes. Our second visit requested a room on lower floor - told that would happen. Given room on 3rd floor - 74 stairs. Told they would move us to ground floor the next day - move to first floor.
Very comfortable bed and good breakfast!
As the breakfast room is quite small for the amount of rooms at the Balmoral, seeing the que growing while your eating is uncomfortable but that's my issue, this may not effect other guests.
Great location, good room
Initial no Wifi in room on higher level, after complaints moved to another room, which had good Wifi
Very quiet room, pleasant reception
Small crowded room for breakfast: people queueing in the stairs waiting for breakfast !
comfortable beds, clean, great location
The old woman on the front desk was the rudest person I have ever met. After booking a double I was advised that there are no double beds in the hotel. After questioning why as I had deliberately paid more for this, the women then proceeded to shout at me and call me a liar. It was the worst service I've ever received at a hotel. I finally spoke to the manager who was much more reasonable.
Good location, the english breakfast was very good and it seemed to be a place free of bedbugs.
Although the mattress seemed to be new, I couldn't sleep well because it was too soft for me. Signal of internet was too low in my floor.
The location was ideal for the tube Service was very speedy Very accommodating with leaving luggage Bed comfy Tea making facilities Food was very good
Dining room very small caused queue for breakfast as majority of guests came down at 8
The location is handy
Room offered wasn't the one booked. Old lady in reception has no idea how to speak to customers
The hotel is located in a great location near the Paddington Tube Station ... Unfortunately that's it's only good quality. Let me start off with my introduction to the front staff. The guy working the front desk assured me I only booked for one night. After I showed him my confirmation email he said, "oh okay - looks like you are booked for 3 nights." He then wrongly informed me bfast was from 0630-0830 (although all the signs around the hotel indicated bfast was from 0700-0830). Check-in was at noon and we arrived at 1215. Our room was not ready yet. So we waited. Then at 1315- they told us our original room was not ready but they had a room at a higher level that was ready. I said, "I will take it." (Considering my husband and I had tickets for a matinee show). My husband carried our suitcase up 5 floors of narrow stairs. We entered our room only to find someone else's suitcase in our room!!! Seriously? We then called the front desk and the lady owner said - I'm sorry the boy who checked you in is in the bathroom and I don't know what he did. 5 minutes later a lady showed up w a key to our new room (which had not yet been cleaned). We entered and it was 2 twin beds separated by a nightstand. We dropped our luggage and left. Needless to say my husband felt like my freshman college roommate all weekend! The next day we were booked for a Stonehenge, Bath and Salisbury Cathedral tour and had to wake up early to catch the bus. We went to bfast around 0700 and were greeted by really nice ladies in a small dining room in the basement with a few tables that could only fit at maximum 20 people at one time. Since we were the first people there it was great and the traditional English bfast was nice and filling. Things were looking up for the hotel. Unfortunately (this hotel is full of unfortunate moments), we weren't so lucky the next day.
