-location -breakfast - both food and friendliness of staff -good value for money
-very small bathroom -no lift. Didn't really affect us, but would for those with difficulty climbing stairs -Likely to have been noisier at front of hotel if the major road works had not been taking place
Small room with no where to put suitcases No table in room
Only a few blocks from Paddington and easy to find.
Stayed in an attic room and there was no lift
It was clean
Room not what i had ordered, work men right out side my bedroom door at 07.30hrs!!! not on at all. Staff could not speak much English, the breakfast staff spoke none at all.
Quiet room, very clean and nice welcome
WiFi poor in the room. Parking rate had gone up since booking
Little noisy at night
a really good hotel good value ,will definitely be staying there again the staff were very friendly and helpful room was very clean and every thing we needed thankyou all. Mr V an Griffin.
nothing to dislike.
confortable bedroom, excelent breakfast
poor wifi quality.
-Close to the metro and 10 min walk tot Oxfordstreet and Hyde park. - Nice beds - Free Wifi
- The rooms are small but nice
The hotel is well located. Easy to access, close to subways. Breakfast is good and copious.
The bathroom is very small. Breakfast hours are too tighten and breakfast room is small regarding the nomber of clients.
The location was good and breakfast was included in room price which we like,, the breakfast itself was fab
The ensuit was tiny, the walls were so thin making it impossible to sleep as all night could hear people banging and chatting and the door bell ringing. Also the wifi was awful couldn't even load basic websites.
Good location, near the subway and with a lot of things to do around. Breakfast was very nice.
The wi-fi didn't connect in our room, we asked for another and it still didn't work. The bathroom was miniscule. The biggest problem for me was that in the shower the water wasn't draining properly, so the water started to build up as soon as you started showering and flooded the bathroom. Very disgusting! I complained about it, but nothing was done. Furthermore, the bedroom door kept clicking I think because of the old structure of the building, seeming like someone was knocking all night long. Finally, the hours of the breakfast were very limited and early and the dining room very small for the number of visitors they had, so we had to wait standing at the stairs for more than half an hour before we were seated. Overall, not a good experience, specially for the price I paid, I wouldn't go again.
Clean and very good location. Excellent for a short stay.
Breakfast times were limited.
The hotel was good value for money, the staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
Not being able to get out of the room in the morning! We couldn't open the door so tried using the phone in the room to contact reception. The phone didn't work so using a mobile we rang the hotel. As we were in the part of the hotel across the road from the main building, the Receptionist had to come to our "rescue" climbing up 74 stairs to room 19. Apparently we had unlocked the door the wrong way when we opened it the night before, causing it to deadlock when we shut the door. The Receptionist said we "should have been told this when we were shown to our room". I hasten to add we were just given our key and told our room was on the top floor of the building.I dread to think of what could have happened if there had been a fire, or one of us had been taken ill. I am sure it is against all safety regulations to have locks like this and would recommend that if you stay in this Hotel, especially room 19, you check the lock before you shut yourself in for the night!
There is no elevator so I had to carry my luggage 4 floors up only to find the smallest room I ever saw in my life. It was actually the size of a bed plus very few space on the side for moving; if you have luggage you are actually left with no room whatsoever. To be more specific I had to put the bag on the bed in order to open it. When I saw how much the room differed from what was shown on booking.com I asked the owner to reimburse me so as to book elsewhere. She did not accept so I sat in the lobby that had a not very reliable wifi connection in order to book another hotel from booking.com. She said that it was late (I checked in around 11 pm) and she wanted to leave. I said I had no problem with it but that I would stay till I would find a proper hotel that was close. She did not accept because she said the lobby closes after 12 am. I said that since I paid I was allowed to use the Internet and that she had no right to throw me out in the middle of the night. She was extremely rude and even when I said that I could stay in the corridor to use the Internet she did not accept. And on top of everything she wouldn't let me hold the key till I could find smt else near by. To cut it short I ended up paying accommodation twice in order to stay at a different hotel. So do not consider this as an option for staying in London since the experience you ll have is definitely not representative of such a great city. And to be honest I was reaaally surprised it had such a high rating; then I realised that it was only because the owner is Spanish as are the majority of guests.
Comfortable without unwanted extras, as a consequence great for a single night stay. Good value.
Wouldn't have wanted to stay for more than a couple of nights as quite compact, and without extras like a bath, but had a compact shower room with toilet.
- No Wi-Fi in room - Staff do not know English properly they talk in Spanish and no intention to help. - No hot water in bathroom - One of the room heater was not working - Extremely small room with partitions. - Do not stay in this hotel.
Was a bit concerned about this stay due to mediocre reviews but was really pleasantly surprised! Staff on our arrival relocated us to a family room where apparently WiFi was better than our booked twin room. They offered this - did not wait for my 17 year old daughter to complain! The room was basic but very comfy and warm. The shower room was very small but very clean and perfectly adequate. After reading poor reviews I wonder what people expect from a 2 star guest house!!! More than happy and would return.
Didn't have breakfast so cant comment. Nothing bad tho my daughter might have slept better with double glazing to reduce traffic noise. I slept like a baby tho!!
The staff where all very friendly and helpful when I needed something.
I didn't like the fact that our hotel was over the road from the main hotel and we had to go to breakfast over the road. There wasn't enough tea, sugar or milk left on rooms so that meant another trip across the road. The breakfast was very poor so we didn't bother the next day.
- breakfast served in 2 minutes - hotel is small and easy to get around. - 2 min walk from paddington
- Beds are short (if you are over 190cm you won't fit. - Staff generally not particularly helpful and confused.
Location, value, Functional hotel
Basic accommodation, it's a bed. Nothing more. But that's all you need in London if you're just using the hotel to sleep. Perfect. No lift in the building.
Easy to get around the city from this location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room seemed small, but I since I was visiting museums and historic sites that was all I needed.
It was nice that breakfast was included but eggs were over cooked. The time I stayed in London was broken up, so I had two different rooms and the wireless connection was very inconsistant.
Very impressed about everything.
Nice staff - very helpful Clean room Clean bedding Good pillows Filling breakfast Decaf coffee 11am checkout
Wi-fi didn't work
Requested a double bed but didnt get one, only found out when opening the room door. If I would have known the double bed rooms were all booked out I would have gone with another hotel. Futhermore the wifi connection on the top floor was non-existant...
