Balmoral Hotel  

Both the staff and the hotel were first class

Booked a room for one night & to return a week later for another night expecting just a standard hotel room. We got a very spacious sitting room, with two large leather couches, a s/s sink unit with a fridge with a jug of fresh milk in. There was also a jar of biscuits, tea & coffee. It also had a large screen t.v. The bedroom was also spacious with another t.v. The bathroom was large with a lovely shower unit, big supply of fluffy towels, not the usual scratchy cardboard variety, face flannels, soap, shower gel, shampoo tissues. It's as if the owners had actually spent a night there to see what travellers actually need. All of it was spotless clean, a real treat to stop there. The staff were all really helpful & friendly, not the usual corporate clones, but genuinely nice people who liked doing their job. Food was very good value in the bar, & the breakfast was cooked to order, not lukewarm stuff from a buffet. Wish we had a longer stay there.

Great room - in fact, more like a suite. Very clean and very comfortable.

We were in Room 9 and suffered from a lot of noise. I think our room must have been over the smoking area as, every now and then, up until past 2.00 in the morning, we were woken by people making a lot of noise, shouting and swearing. If we stayed there again would certainly make sure we didn't get room 9.

The room was spacious, comfortable, clean with excellent facilties. The food served was well cooked and good value. The staff were polite and helpful. An excellent hotel to stay in

The hotel room was clean and spacious. They allowed us to check in early and staff were very friendly. Lovely breakfast and a very relaxed over night experience. We were very very pleased with our Balmoral experience and would definitely return for a short break.

Clean and comfortable and perfect location for a local event we were attending.

The room was well furnished and excellent size,bathroom was extremely clean and fresh. We arrived quite late but told not a problem, food excellent value for money, the young bar man was really friendly even though the bar was busy he brought all drinks over. Breakfast next day was one of the best, decent tea and coffee and again very friendly staff. May not meet the contemporary fashionable interior but who wants, what you can get everywhere, this is real character with excellent staff.

I liked the under stated rooms , that were far more impressive than the pictures, and the way there was nothing to much that the staff could do for you. My wife used to be the Executive Head Housekeeper for a large hotel chain and it takes a lot for her to say she hadn't reservations about staying there. Oh! and the bacon.!!!!!!!

The rooms are spacious with a kitchen, lazy boy leather sofas , wide screen Tv. Nice bedding and very clean. Food very nice as well in restaurant and not over priced.

lovely small hotel in centre of moffat great bar meals at good prices fantastic room(2) more like a apartment refurbished and newly decorated beutifuly.very friendly and helful staff.would certainly book again.

The warm welcome and enormous, comfortable rooms, effectively a suite with living room included, with a hearty breakfast added in this was great value for money

Every thing, room was spacious and very clean. Hospitalty excellent, food very good value for money.

The atmosphere of the hotel was so friendly and as customers in the bar and restaurant we did not feel like outsiders we were given excellent service and a warm welcome.

We booked a superior room which was fantastic. We had a separate living room with loads of space. Everything was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was great and all of the staff were friendly. Really good value for money and would definitely stay again.
