Decor In rooms was a bit dated
Service was good
Very shabby bedroom
All staff very friendly and helpfull. Breakfasts very good, rooms comfortable if a little dated, lounge and dining area good.
Unfortunately restaurant no longer available.
Hotel lovely and comfortable breakfast was excellent
No food served after breakfast or evening
Welcoming feeling when entering the hotel in the lounge area, candles lit in the evening together with fresh flowers. Staff excellent. Would recommend.
Excellent, attentive and helpful staff
Room rather tired
Cleanliness of the rooms. Dated décor. Shower didn't work. Breakfast was poor.
Only one chair in room. No facilities for placing Shavers and toiletries by the hand basin.
Breakfast excellent.Bed very comfortable
Maximum 10 min walk to the centre of Harrogate, but straight line, you can't get lost and the distance rom town meant that it was beautifully quiet - had a great night's sleep.
Ideally situated for the conference centre and a five minute stroll to pubs and restaurants. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Hotel has recently been taken over in the last year. Present owners are aware that decor is past it's best and aim to correct this. Our room was a suite and very clean with fresh towels daily. Overall we enjoyed our stay and nothing was too much. The downside was that the wi if is only available in reception.
No wifi in rooms.
the staff are great. bar area nice.
gardens need attention. rooms need attention. beds too small. doors banging shut needs addressing. road noise too load,
Loved the room - I was lucky to get 5, which has two windows, one a circular bay window in the corner turret. Little or no traffic noise, comfortable bed, wonderfully neo-classic decor and the cleaning was efficient and unobtrusive. The hotel is in a leafy residential area within reasonable walking distance from the town centre - useful to know as there is no evening meal served in the hotel. I managed to get a parking space for the duration, although on-street parking is plentiful and permits are available at reception. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - I arrived early and was treated to coffee and a blueberry muffin while my room was made ready. The breakfast menu has something for everyone and, not being one for a morning fry-up, I was pleased to see a good selection of fresh fruits, cereals and pastries.
I wasn't tempted to use the bar - I'm a real ale fan and there wasn't any. But this would not deter me from visiting again.
Good staff. Modern bathroom with a fairly decent shower, but no hotels have good showers!
Had to move rooms due to broken bed. Bedrooms, stairs and dining areas all dark and poorly lit. Furniture in bedrooms need attention, including broken lamp.
Comfortable night's sleep, great staff and a delicious breakfast.
We stayed in room 1. The curtain/blind in the bathroom repeatedly fell down after being temporarily glued into place exposing you to the street. The blinds in the bedroom were tattered and covered in stains. The pillow cases were clean but had old stains on them. The water pressure in the shower was terrible - actually a trickle at times. We complained upon checking out and were told the receptionist they were well aware of the problems. We were offered a drinks voucher if we returned in future but it seems crazy to charge full price for a room you know so inadequate in the first instance and then offer vouchers.
Great location, friendly staff.
Our 'double' bed was 2 singles pushed together which made for a really uncomfortable nights sleep! The bathroom, although very clean, had been mopped with a smelly mop head so it stunk- we had to open the window and spray deodorant to get rid of the smell.
Lovely comfy bed.
Decor a bit tired and shower area mouldy.
Really excellent, value for money hotel in a lovely, quiet but central location, not far from the International Conference centre. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made my stay a real pleasure. My single room was very nice with everything I required, a good shower, comfortable bed, even an ironing board and decent iron. There was also a nice bar and lounge area downstairs. I would definitely stay in this wonderful little hotel once again.
The room was very warm (not really unusual in most hotels and better then being cold...). Other then that I really, really can't fault this place
Staff helpful and friendly. Good sized rooms. Pleasant breakfast area.
Rooms in need of some refurbishing - nothing major. No evening meals provided
Very spacious and nice accommodation. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Some of furniture, fixtures and fittings were a bit tired. Curtains did not work properly, cover missing over light switch and torn material over bed.
Attitude of the staff was excellent. Breakfast menu was excellent.
Cleanliness lacking in the bedrooms. Poor housekeeping. Garden unkempt.
Location Staff were friendly and helpful Size of room
Very poor shower Torn roman blinds on window which did not work but were repaired Poor bed-side lighting for reading Very average breakfasts
Great location a few minutes walk from town. Nice bar area. The staff were polite and courteous and aimed to please. Very comfortable bed!
Decor was a little dated. The room hadn't been dusted in quite some time. Insufficient hangers. One light didn't work. No literature on what hotel offered or places to visit, restaurants etc was provided in the room.
Great staff. Good bathroom. Would stay there again.
Could hear guests coming into room overhead, but once in noise was not a problem. Decor in bedroom a little tired
Good staff very friendly and helpful
Suite pleasant but a little worn looking. Bathroom flooded very easily especially with the shower. Scrambled egg at breakfast was terrible with bits of egg shell and bits of burnt egg
