The garden and smalll patio area with a garden room. Toilet seat was broken and was repaired when we came back from a walk. It was quite close to bars and restaurants on Lord street.
Breakfast - reheated from the day before - on occasions inedible.
Unfortunately we did'nt get to sleep here as we had a family emergency, so had to leave early evening. but room was nice & clean, location very quiet. Owner was very helpful.
My bed wasn't changed when l arrived but they did change when l mentioned, staff were excellent can't falter them
The Garden room is large and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The bathroom needs to be updated.
Friendly French owners Nice breakfast room
Very slow toaster! Would have liked WiFi password in room as I arrived late and there was no one around to ask for it.
location, price, lovely receptionist
very bad breakfast, i have never seen and eat such a bad bacon, room seems to be clean but smell badly,
I liked the fact that it was only 10 minutes walk away from the railway station, theatres, shops, seafront, restaurants, etc. The hotel offered a buffet breakfast, which was brilliant and an evening meal could be ordered if required. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Needs a good clean
We enjoyed our 2 night stay. It was an easy walk 5 mins or so to the main shopping/eating area of Lord Street. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. Good choice at the breakfast buffet. Recommended.
Room size great, owner lovely, location walking distance to sea front and town centre.
The hotel rooms are very dated especially the bathroom. Could do with small improvements, a simple as new toilet seats! I'm sure everything was clean but seemed so old felt dirty, bedding, dressing table chair etc.
Staff friendly Excellent breakfast Very good room situation
Friendly good around
Bed to soft think mattress was feather. You sunk in it .
very good price
watered down milk ,not proper orange juice, poor quality food and cold the bed was to soft
Lovely warm welcome from friendly helpful staff. Handily placed for walking into town and shopping on Lord Street. Because we seldom eat breakfast the choice and selection on the Continental Breakfast was more than sufficient but it was nice to be offered a 'full English' - must say that it did look nice too.
We were on the top floor but now know that they have ground floor rooms we know what to book next time we go to Southport.
Location. Size. Rom with verandah and access to garden for our dog.
Big old place with lots of character about it. Breakfast was nice too.
The Balmoral Lodge struck me as more of a B&B than a Hotel. Arriving at 10pm on a Saturday night I expect any hotel bar to be open for a relaxing drink before bed. Alas, the Balmoral's bar was closed. Not what I expect from a Hotel.
Beds very old, very dated decor and bedding, bathroom very dated, toilet seat chipped in several places, toilet didn't flush probably and throws on beds smelt of dogs....my daughter and grandaughters had another room and they refused to stay there as there were dog hairs on the bedding and the carpet...the smell in the room of dogs was too much to bare...they found alternative accommodation.
the balmoral is about 10 minutes walk from main shopping aerea ,we stayed in they garden room, great for my partner who smokes, very nice garden, room 10 out of10 for comfort, great breakfast as much as you can eat staff very friendly
Room was clean and well appointed. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Excellent accommodation.

nothing to dislike
The breakfast was great
Bed was soft
The staff were very friendly good communication clean good breakfast
It was a lovely room overlooking the garden with patio doors leading onto the terrace! The room was spacious with a fridge! Breakfast had so much to offer!
Not keen on the choice of bacon or sausages!
