With a modern recreation center and 2 traditional restaurants, Scarisbrick Hotel also features a cocktail lounge and real ale bar. The hotel is in Southport center, just off of Lord Street Boulevards....

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. It was an easy walk 5 mins or so to the main shopping/eating area of Lord Street. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. Good choice at the breakfast buffet. Recommended.
Room size great, owner lovely, location walking distance to sea front and town centre.
The hotel rooms are very dated especially the bathroom. Could do with small improvements, a simple as new toilet seats! I'm sure everything was clean but seemed so old felt dirty, bedding, dressing table chair etc.
Staff friendly Excellent breakfast Very good room situation
Friendly good around
Bed to soft think mattress was feather. You sunk in it .
very good price
watered down milk ,not proper orange juice, poor quality food and cold the bed was to soft
Lovely warm welcome from friendly helpful staff. Handily placed for walking into town and shopping on Lord Street. Because we seldom eat breakfast the choice and selection on the Continental Breakfast was more than sufficient but it was nice to be offered a 'full English' - must say that it did look nice too.
We were on the top floor but now know that they have ground floor rooms we know what to book next time we go to Southport.
Location. Size. Rom with verandah and access to garden for our dog.
Big old place with lots of character about it. Breakfast was nice too.
The Balmoral Lodge struck me as more of a B&B than a Hotel. Arriving at 10pm on a Saturday night I expect any hotel bar to be open for a relaxing drink before bed. Alas, the Balmoral's bar was closed. Not what I expect from a Hotel.
the balmoral is about 10 minutes walk from main shopping aerea ,we stayed in they garden room, great for my partner who smokes, very nice garden, room 10 out of10 for comfort, great breakfast as much as you can eat staff very friendly
Room was clean and well appointed. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Excellent accommodation.
staff were very friendly.room very clean and comfy.excellent breakfast, great location
nothing to dislike
The breakfast was great
Bed was soft
The staff were very friendly good communication clean good breakfast
It was a lovely room overlooking the garden with patio doors leading onto the terrace! The room was spacious with a fridge! Breakfast had so much to offer!
Not keen on the choice of bacon or sausages!
Food ,Shower overall dirty place
the staff are very friendly, they can`t do enough for you. As I have family in Southport Balmoral Lodge will always be my first choice when booking in somewhere.
The people running the hotel were polite and patient when I had trouble with key. My fault. Breakfast very good and lots of choice.
Maybe decor could do with revamping and not brown but for price cannot complain.
evening meal very good
The room was nice and we liked the breakfast.
I could not shut the window in room 9, and hardly got any sleep as it was really windy and the draught coming through the window caused me to have a cold. I had to drive home 95 miles away bunged up and tired.
Loved the fact it was an easy walk to the town centre and the promenade. Great to have off street parking. wifi was good enough to watch TV on. Room and bathroom were a nice size. Plenty of food for breakfast.
As mentioned before by other reviewers the decor is really dated. The room had so much potential to be amazing but dated furniture and bedding and ageing bathroom suit really negative mark against what would have been a pleasant stay in Southport.
Parking was ok and access to the hotel once you have got through the locked front door
The hotel smelled musty and requires re furbishment, breakfast is a lot to be desired, very little choice of cereal and if you don't arrive early then it is Luke warm on the hot plate, it would be better cooked to order.
Food, hot water and staff
Too much cltter in the bedroom
Very friendly and helpful staff. Garden room had a lovely outlook.
Felt the room was a bit dated and a pity that the fitted bottom sheet of the bed did not fit properly. Also would have been nice to have a window that opens for warm summer nights.
We really enjoyed our stay in their garden room,it was like being in your own garden at home, with the birds singing
