I enjoyed everything about this hotel. However two highlights would be the bed and bathroom we had in the master suite, (we did not want to leave), and the manager Duncan. He made us feel at home and catered to our every need.
the Welcome the staff the building, original features restored the views the breakfast was warm
use a google sat nav if possible
The atmosphere is lovely, calm and welcoming. It feels as if you have walked into the home of your dreams. Everything has been done with care and style. The staff are friendly and informative about the house and its history. I felt like a real guest.
A stunning location, and an amazing house which has been beautifully restored. My stay at Balmule House was great. The owners are completely focused on guest service and comfort, an absolute pleasure - if only all nights away for work were as comfortable as this - Thank you!
Master Ensuite is bigger than most hotel rooms! Double shower is wonderful! beware the sharks!! Bedroom is a delight and the whole place is decorated in style. All the staff make you feel welcome and are very helpful.
Peace, quiet, quality of furnishings, fittings and décor. Well appointed rooms, fantastic venue. Wonderfully clean.
Poorly signposted have to drive to find restaurant.
We loved the space and grandeur of the restored bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Beds were wonderfully comfortable and in the morning we were served a hearty cooked breakfast. Friendly service and the location is spectacular.
The plumbing is a bit noisy but nothing more than you would expect in a house this age.
We found this place online late at night. It was difficult finding the place in the dark and the GPS was not accurate but the owner gave us online directions by phone. The place itself is beautiful with a huge English garden. Very special rooms all in a both classic but modern style, which do not contradict one another. The staff make you feel welcome as if you are visiting old friends or relatives.
We loved the position of the Hotel, the drive up to the Hotel, the grounds all very scenic. The inside of the Hotel is beautiful and our room was also beautiful, clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely.
No bar/dining facilities except for breakfast.
The welcome, the room, the bed, the breakfast, the location. Service from Duncan was 1st class even down to finding and booking somewhere to eat after our late arrival. A super stay, 1st class all round
Very nice house and location Staff very good. Breakfast excellent. Beds were very comfortable.
Had to travel to get an evening meal. No bar facility. Toilet bathroom was converted cupboard with double doors. Shower very noisy. When strong wind a lot of noise from old fireplace
Really nice staff! Beautiful buidling in a pretty location. The only sounds you hear are the sheeps! :)
Probably the only thing I can say is that the price was relatively too high (compared to other places).
Attention to detail. Everything was great !Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely.
Would have liked tea / nespresso making facilities in the room . At this price range I think it's expected.
- the garden - the owner was super friendly - the house had been recently renovated and looked amazing - felt secluded even though you were only 10 minutes from town.
Derek and staff great people nothing was a problem, great breakfast lovely rooms. The place is old but has great feel to it, even the creeking floor boards. Will be going back
Beautiful home. Attention to detail is impeccable.
Somewhat difficult to find.
Beautiful place in a beautiful location. We loved everything about this hotel. We would definitely recommend and return.
What an amazing house! Even on short notice, Duncan was a lovely host and made our stay the best we could wish for! We definitely want to come back for another (longer) stay.
Very grand looking place the bathroom was just as big as the bedroom I booked it as a surprise for my partner and she was impressed would definitely go back the scenery was beautiful
Only a small issue the shower wasn't very warm
The house was really beautiful. I felt extremely relaxed there, and totally chilled out, as really there is nothing to do but relax. Room and bath was fab.
For the cost, I really thought the breakfast would be a la carte, with a good choice. Whilst the products were good and fresh, there wasn't much choice of hot food, just bacon, eggs, sausage and black pudding.
I thought the owner Franc was a great guy and was so welcoming.he could not do enough for us and the place was very relaxing.we didn't feel like we where paying guests we felt more like friends. excellent
all was good
A beautiful place to stay. We had a lovely time
All rooms amazing, everything so grand. Own fireplace in the bedroom (even a fireplace in the bathroom!). Lovely views from bedroom. Owner so helpful. Perfect place to go for Valentines!
Tried to order food from local Indian restaurant, but were given run around for 3 hours! Eventually had to cancel order and have pizza instead.
Duncan was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay . Breakfast was delicious .
Difficult to find based on sat nav but we were given written directions .
