The location and price. There was a draft coming in under the bedroom door and the skylight in the bathroom rattled all night. The bar area was not very warm.

We attended a family wedding at Banff Springs Hotel. The facilties were good and the food excellent. Our room was spotless and comfortable and offered very good value for money. Some rooms had a beautiful view over the bay - worth asking for this when you book.

First room allocated - the toilet was still dirty and a bad brown crack on the rim of the toilet basin. Heating did not work in my room and there was no blanket in the wardrobe. I only had a very thin summerwight duvet and froze all night. The main light I the bathroom was broken (informed by receptionist that it was the alternator and could not be fixed for the two nights stay). Food is really rough - Asda would do a better breakfast that that.

As a female on business, I do feel comfortable staying on my own. I felt the room is a bit tired, especially the bathroom, they are upgrading the rooms accross the hall, and there waas a bit of noise.

Our reason for staying at the Banff Springs Hotel in the first place was to attend a wedding. The food and table service etc. was excellent and the staff were all most pleasant and obliging. We were generally pleased with our room though for an executive room we expected it to be a bit larger. We'd be more than willing to recommend the Banff Springs Hotel to anyone else.

The hotel is well located and has a fantastic view of the bay. The food and service in the bistro bar are good. I booked 2 rooms as doubles for single occupancy and arrived to be given 2 twin rooms. The whole idea of taking a double is that you get a bigger bed. A twin is just 2 single beds. Not good and the hotel blamed Booking.com for the error.

The main plus point of the Banff Springs was the hotel receptionist who was really welcoming. It is also in a good location for exploring the Highlands and within easy walking distance into Banff itself. The lounge and the bedroom we were given also had fabulous views over the bay. I had booked a luxury room and we were put in the Gilmore Suite. The room was very clean but had recently been refurbished in a very outlandish way with shiny black furniture and an enormous black chandelier in the middle of the room. I have never quite seen anything like it. Also the shower which is completely made of glass is actually in the room with you so unless you are a complete exhibitionist and very comfortable in your own skin I wouldn't recommend this room.We didn't eat in the evening because other reviews were not so good and I'm afraid the breakfast was very disappointing. I ordered kippers and they looked as though they had been in the oven for a week. Not one of best stays!!

The only thing I found disappointing about this hotel was the breakfast routine. There was no option to have breakfast delivered to your room which would have suited me better. The staff also appeared very flustered and rushed and many of the buffet items, cereal, juice, bowls.... Had run out. The breakfast also took quite some time to arrive at the table from ordering although when it arrived it was very fresh and enjoyable.

The hotel staff were very friendly and willing to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The rooms were very clean and everything worked properly . The internet speed was quick too. Some of the fixtures and fitting seem a bit basic these could be updated, improving the decoration would make this hotel excellent. Arriving late in the day it was hard to get food better provision at the bar for snacks would help the business traveller.

We were able to upgrade on arrival to a nicer room for £20 which had just been refurbished The downstairs area was far too warm. Think the heating was up really high. Also, they were undergoing refurbishment but did not advise us of this when we booked. There were strong decorating smells

The staff were very helpful, the location ideal and the accommodation very clean and modern. We had a beautifully cooked evening meal in luxurious surroundings. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend Banff Springs. This is the third break we have had there but the first since the refurbishment.

“A superb stay. From the minute I arrived the staff were the friendliest I have met for years. Arriving late the kitchen was closed but the Chef made superb sandwiches. Bar great fun and service excellent. Food was superb! All in all a very enjoyable two day stay on business. ” David, Bishops Stortford |
