A warm, friendly welcome by the owners. Nice room, very clean, excellent bathroom and toiletries. Fresh milk for tea and coffee. Lovely home-made cake and fresh coffee on arrival. Very good and substantial breakfast.
House is on a steep hill about 10 minutes walk from centre which is probably no problem to most people. It wouldn't have been a problem to me in the past but I now have severe arthritis so had to take a taxi. Apart from that, excellent.
Breakfast excellent room good views stunning
Room was fine, bit of a walk into tow, owner most helpful and breakfast excellent
Clean, comfortable, great fairtrade and organic food, welcoming hosts, beautiful views
Great hosts. Never been to a b and b before. If they are all as good as this one. I'll never go to a hotel again! Amazing rooms with stunning views. Award winning breakfasts all locally sourced.
The view was amazing. We had breakfast at the table by the window, and our room was above (room 1). The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Fresh fruit, home baked bread, delicious preserves, and cooked breakfasts excellent. The location was good as it was on the edge of the town, you could walk in but were not amongst it. Good location for exploring the Lake District.
The one way system in Penrith!
Large room Lovely homemade bread at breakfast and fabulous tasting decaf coffee
nothing was too much trouble, relaxed, friendly and spotlessly clean
There wasn't anything to dislike - would definitely recommend.
Superb breakfast and friendly atmosphere.
Great attention to detail - liked the ethos of supporting local businesses. Breakfast outstanding, friendly and helpful owners.
On route for c2c. Rooms beautiful and spotless. Food best ever breakfast. Lovely hosts.
Initially the outside looked a little tired and in need of freshening up, but it is only a minor thing. The house interior and gardens are well kept.
Good rooms and views. Good food.
Beautiful house and garden! Close to lakes. Amazing room and delicious breakfast. Fantastic people are running Bank House:-)

Noisy fan in the bathroom
The hosts were very friendly and helped us out when we needed an iron and gave us good ideas for things to do. The breakfast was excellent.
The breakfast and large rooms .
The 4pm check in time . If you are arriving by car earlier you need know where to park and what to do re parking and discs . So you can walk down into the town to explore and return at check in time.
Very friendly welcome and food excellent. Large Bedroom / En Suite and Dining room all tastefully decorated with lovely views over gardens and Penrith.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The bedroom and en-suite were spotless. The food was good quality, delicious and included homemade cake and bread. We would definitely recommend.
Food was great, bed was to die for, bathroom and shower very good, view from bedroom -out of this world.
Mmmmmmmm nothing !!!
Great room, comfy bed, big en-suit. and after a long drive from Kent, coffee and home made cake in dinning room. This was our 2nd visit and look foreword to visiting again!
Very friendly welcome & relaxed stay. Personable & genuine.
The cooked breakfast was very good with fresh fruit salad, fresh orange juice and lovely dining room overlooking the town.
Bank house is a beautiful period property and the owners have gone to great lengths to get the decor and furnishings just right. The food was outstanding, we class ourselves as 'foodies' and were certainly not disappointed, the menu was extensive and the fresh fruit salad on your table was a lovely addition. The owners are very friendly, helpful people who go to great lengths to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, from the homemade bread and cakes to being just lovely people. Would recommend bank house very highly. Jon and Shirley st Erth Cornwall 22/9/13 - 24/9/13
Lovely original furnishings with a comfy bed. The owners went out of their way to help us and accommodated 2 extra people in our party. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
The location was a bit misleading. We thought that we would be closer to the town center. It's a bit of a walk for a mature couple!
