Our room was beautifully furnished and every last detail was of high quality, down to the lovely toiletries supplied. The owners were very helpful and breakfast in the delightful dining room (with superb views) was excellent. The menu was extensive and cooked to order. The fresh fruit salad was delicious an excellent range of quality cereals was provided. A great place to stay! Just a comment - would be helpful to have a street number provided on the Booking.com site

A very nice house with beautiful views. The house has been sympathetically restored and furnishings are to a high standard. Our needs were all taken care of. A high regard for local produce and sourcing. No off road parking.

Hosts extremely helpful and welcoming.Breakfast was really nice. Dining room lovely and light with a big picture window over looking Penrith. No bedside table on one side of bed (room 4). Seems a small point but it means there is no where to put glasses, phone etc or place a bedside-lamp Room quite dark - could not read at night.

Genuinely warm welcome. Home baked bread and cakes, superb breakfasts with wide choice- meat, fish, vegetarian, home made cereals, lovely fruit salad, local yoghurts. Fresh flowers. Beautiful attention to detail. This couple really care. Nothing really- just that we couldn't stay longer. Two nights not enough.

Bank House has a lovely ambience of slightly old-fashioned tranquillity with comfortable rooms and first-class breakfasts. You'd have a job to find anything to complain about.

Thought the couple who ran it were very inviting and friendly. The room was clean, well sized and had a lovely view over the garden. The breakfast which is included was amazing. You could pick and chose from the different breakfasts and got fresh fruit and juice as well which was really good. I would definitely recommend this to friends. There was nothing I didn't like

The size of the room was much better than virtually all the B&Bs we used on a 19 day holiday. The attention to detail and guest comfort was also superior. Choices at breakfast were varied, locally sourced and organic. The little touches: linen napkins, loose leaf tea, really fresh fruit, etc. were much appreciated.

The warm welcome was excellent, even at the late time of arrival which we had-heading onto 1.00am. Room tastefully decorated with tea/coffee facilities available, also bottle of water with glasses. Local history and visitors sights information on hand. Also we discovered that Bank House does excellent discounts when booking direct with them. I would recommend giving them a visit.

Made very welcome and had a lovely cup of tea and delicious cake on arrival. The breakfasts were amazing best we had ever had and all locally sourced. I loved the organic soaps shower gels and lotions in refillable bottles. Nice idea. I think beds in English b & B's and hotels let them down. American hotels have really good matresses and are very comfortable to sleep in. Do understand that there maybe only room for a 4'6" double or single bed or beds only, but I do think a good matress is important.

Handy location although took a couple of passes in the road to locate, nicely appointed room, fantastic breakfast, nice garden that was handy for our little one to run in after breakfast, and table in bay window has lovely view over Penrith, very attentive operators, would stay again. Perhaps even a small sign outside to aid location, but this is a minor issue.

We loved the Bank House and the owners are very helpful. Our room was furnished in beautiful creams and golds and has a very comfy bed with beautiful soft cotton sheets. The toiletries are all locally made and the food sourced and produced locally. We had the best breakfast ever and absolutely loved the fresh fruit salad. We were only here for one night on a long trip from France to a family wedding in Kent and then onto a holiday in the Highlands of Scotland where we stayed in lots of B&Bs and holiday cottages and we can honestly say that the breakfast here at Bank House was by far the best. We would certainly stay here again if we are in this part of the world. Congratulations on a job well done. Couldn't find any fault.

Lovely old Victorian House tastefully furnished and fitted out. Very friendly and helpful hostess (Sarah). Fabulous breakfasts including excellent porridge. Sarah even does her best to fulfil special requests for breakfast which are not on the menu. (100% successfully in our case). Sarah was able to give guidance with regards to local eateries and Ullswater lakeside walks. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay at this establishment. There was nothing not to like about our stay.
