The hotel is very well located for the centre of Edinburgh which means you can walk everywhere from its front steps. The hotel staff were helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was served with good coffee and a smile! The only minus point was the long stairway one had to climb in order to reach the rooms. |

Exterior of the hotel 1. the bed's spring is broken and felt like decades old, 2. bed is not clean, caused my skin to feel itchy all night, could not sleep that night, 3. the next day, found out that both of my hands and my feet were bitten by lice, 4. WARNING: stay away from this hotel. Next time, I'd rather pay a bit more and stay at the Radisson next door. |

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was well-appointed and comfortable. Delicious breakfast included in the price of the room. Location was perfect for getting a quick (two-day) impression of the old city of Edinburgh. The noise coming up from the bar was quite loud the first night we were there, but was not a problem at all the second night. |

Daniel the manager was very helpful. He found out about disabled parking for us, took our bags up to the room, recommended an excellent local restaurant. The breakfast was good although the cereal and juices that should have been laid out weren't. The room was interesting - we were in the Robert Louis Stevenson room - the famous scots theme is an excellent idea. The room was a tight fit. The furnishings, although fitting with the theme were too large and it was difficult for two people to move around the room comfortably. The price reflected the location and actually the atmosphere of the hotel is of a Pub B&B. There isn't a formal reception and there are a lot of stairs to get to the rooms (no lift). |

Quirky room design and hotel theme. Huge room and very central location. Bed was too firm and there's no lift so it's not suitable for the elderly or young families. There was karaoke in the bar at night. |

Location was fantastic, rooms were a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Accessing the hotel through the bar late on Friday night isn't great - if the hotel could provide a side entranct it would be brilliant - there is a door there. |

We loved our suite - the Robert Burns Suite- with the huge bathroom and we also loved the generous hearty breakfasts ( good vegetarian options available). We had no delays and the breakfasts arrived on time served by very friendly staff. We enjoyed the sounds of music from the bar and were never kept awake by noise. The shower head and the soap and shampoo facilities were not detachable, which meant you had to stand up in the bath, and as there was no safety mat or rail, it meant you had to be very careful. |

Due to bad weather and a change in plans, my husband made the booking over the internet for myself and my teenage daughter as we arrived in Edinburgh late at night. He chose the Bank Hotel as it had a late check-in. We were not sure what we'd find, but we were welcomed by very friendly, helpful staff, who offered to carry our suitcase up the three flights of stairs to our room. |

The room was lovely and comfortable, it had everything we wanted and we liked the theme. The breakfast was the best we had ever had, it was just the long wait for it that spoiled it. The service for breakfast was terrible we were kept waiting an hour and a half one day and an hour another day! A lot of other guests complained too!!! Also on 3 days there wasn't enough hot water for me and my partner to have a bath or shower!!! We did learn later after several complaints that they were having trouble with the bolier but they didn't bother to inform the guests of this. |

The staff was extremely accomodating. They were able to check us in early in our rooms and treated us to breakfast shortly after our arrivial on Tues 22-Dec (around 7:30 am) -- having taken the Caledonian sleeper train on Monday 21- Dec from London. This was our (me, my wife and our 2 adult children) 1st trip to Scotland and this made it very special Nothing -- Also re what I liked -- we had not idea as to where to have a great/memorable Scotish dinner on our only night in Edinburgh. A young lady at the front desk did a great job in finding a "special" restraurant and booking the rerservation. It was a short walk from the hotel and the meal was excellent! Overall -- the Bank was a great experience! We hightly recommend it. |

Central location. Breakfast was not available at the times stated 7.30-10.00. I left the hotel at 7.50am and a continental breakfast was still not available even though it had been paid for in the room price. |

fantastic room - large and comfortable. very impressive decor! I thought I wouldn't like a room above a bar, but there was no noise at all. There was some traffic noise, as the hotel is on the corner of a main road. But it was fine. I would stay again. |
