The location is convenient for the town and most other activities but the feeling is as if you are in the heart of the countryside. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The only thing that annoyed me during my stay, was that the shower was very difficult to select a comfortable temperature and maintain it. I am sure that I am not the only person who would get annoyed at the waste of time trying to adjust the temperature of the shower, then having to endure uncomfortable temperature changes while taking a shower. |

Great gardens, attentive staff and really good breakfast in the conservatory; outdoor jacuzzis at the Spa and fantastic dual massage in the Sensory Decor is tired and dated and rooms are small in the main part of the hotel; I know it is newly acquired but for the price, it could do with new carpets throughout and the bedroom and bathroom fixtures and fittings updating |

Efficiently run Hotel with friendly staff. Accomodation to a high standard and would certainly book this group again. Dinner menu a bit restricted, but of good quality. |

The Spa facitilies were excellent and not having the children for a night away using these was a real treat!! The suite was gorgeous and luxurious and particularly spacious but the best part was the enormous bed which was the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in - so good in fact we had breakfast in bed too!! The Bar Staff were not helpful or willing as much as they should have been - I asked 3 members of staff in the bar for a drink and eventually was passed down the line before the last one (all standing in a row!) eventually took my order. Another problem was there was no where to purchase any 'ladies toiletries' in the hotel and they did not even have any urgent stocks at Reception. This was a problem I could have done without especially as there are no shops near by. There should be some on sale in the toilets at least. |

The room was nice and the staff friendly. The choice of food was verry limited and the resturant was unpleasant. |

We loved the setting of the hotel which was relaxing. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed using the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna before breakfast! We would stay there again if we were in the area. |

Setting, level of comfort, staff support and friendliness. Proximity of gym, Lousy scrambled egg! Conservatory would benefit from better blinds |

We enjoyed the spa and gym and the hotel has potential but more attention needs to be taken with detail and service. Friends of ours had a similar suite but the standard of their room was much better. A number of the staff were very helpful. The room was classified as a "junior suite" but was just a large room with a corridor area. There was no art work on the walls. One of the curtain poles was hanging down at one end, the bath panel was broken and a light bulb had blown - we reported these problems but none was rectified during our three night stay. There was a pair of dirty tights on the window sill when we arrived. The food was adequate but in the evening the service was slow. |

Health spa next door and free use of some of their facilities (gym, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi...) Room as far as facilities go was really no luxurious than a travel lodge for example (though a little bigger). Prices were therefore extremely inflated. Tv had only 4 channels available for majority of stay (though sky sports news and film4 became available towards end of stay). Meals and drinks over priced. No air conditioning so room unbearably hot. Very noisy banging of doors in hotel. Quality of cooked breakfast was poor. |

Comfortable, quiet bedroom, with beautiful view of rear garden. Evening meal was very nice, particularly main dish of salmon. Latvian waitress gave very good service (a contrast to one or two of the junior English breakfast staff). A few of the junior restaurant staff need basic training. |

manageress, reception team and staff generally were most helpful use of spa was much appreciated. gardens/grounds were excellent a.whilst the food was adequate, quality and presentation could have been better.b. an electrical storm had knocked out the lift the night before our arrival - it was still out when we left ! c. sky tv went down in our room (39) and could not be restored - bad news to miss the last two days of the test match!! |

Good sized room. (We were upgraded to a four poster) Dining in the conservatory was pleasant, overlooking the garden, and the bar area was cheery. The grounds were very nice with plenty of potential to improve i.e. planting more perennials. For an upgraded room the bathroom left a lot to be desired. TThe extractor fan was not working, the porcelain soapdish was hanging off the wall, (quite dangerous) and the shower was not thermostatically controlled, very difficult to get the right temperature and when achieved the water would suddenly go either very cold or very hot. The garden could have been beautiful had some simple planting taken place to add some interest and colour. I would return to this hotel if in the area but only if improvements have been made. Price a little on the high side. |

The spa and pool facilities were good. The grounds impressive and relaxing. Food was good. Altogether a very enjoyable experience. We would likely return but stay for two days next time. Breakfast was a bit strung out as the staff were not well prepared for residents eating outside. I would suggest that maybe a separate breakfast bar could be set up outside in good weather. |

Excellent facilities at the Spa for hotel guests. Pretty gardens behind the hotel to stroll around. General feeling that the hotel was trying to be more than its 3 star status, particularly in its advertising (see page advert in local magazine/brochure in hotel room), and trying to be something it isn't. The evening meal was not acceptable, particularly in light of the prices being charged. |
