I loved the decor which was so inspirational. My room was fantastic with lovely furntiure and decor and was very comfortable. The setting of the hotel was excellent and the spa was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay I would have preferred the spa to stay open later than 9pm as I was on business and didnt arrive at the hotel until 8pm. Also, I would have preferred if the spa could open earlier than 9am as I wanted to use it before going off to a business meeting. The opening times were very restrictive.

The bed in our deluxe double room was very comfortable. And the breakfast was excellent (because we were very hungry) and the staff in the breakfast room, attentive. It was meant to a celebration weekend. However, on arrival for our one night stay the receptionist asked for a credit card against which purchases could be debited. This not an unusual request. However, without my knowledge or consent, £50 was deducted from my account. When I checked out, they deducted the full amount of the B&B + drinks using the credit card details they had stored. The £50 they had already taken was not deducted from the final bill. Also, as a special thank you to me, my wife booked and paid in advance for their limited special dinner and wine tasting at £50 per person. It was meant to be limited to 20 people and start at 7.30pm. However, they extended the numbers to 38 and we sat down just after 8pm. Consequently, the fine dining experience turned out to be a rushed service with cold, dried up, "take it or leave it" food (no menu choice) poorly presented and not very appealing. If we had not paid in advance, we would have refused to pay. We bought the poor dining experience to the restaurant manager at the time and also told the receptionist when we checked out. All we got fobbed off by the restaurant manager and an apology from the receptionist. We will certainly not be going there again or recommend it to our colleauges in local government and the civil service.

Staff were just awesome. Surroundings were beautiful. I stayed in the Melchior room (7) if you are offered this then check to see if it has been renovated as the bathroom was horrid! Tiles were falling off the wall. The extractor fan didn't work. Cracks in the tiles and a really nasty attempted repair behind the taps. Oh, and the bath panel was water damaged and warped. Not to mention the fill on the toilet was god awful loud. In summery the bathroom was so nasty that I didn't bother showering until I got home. Had I been staying more than one night all hell would have broken loose. Lucky my partner was not staying the night as she would have just walked out!!!!

Felt like staying in a big family country home- very relaxing yet excellent standard of service. The spa is the icing on the cake! A little more attention to cleaning in the rooms would be good: example- there were biscuit crumbs in the welcome pack when we opened it. A dirty cloth was left in our bathroom by housekeeping in the evening after the bed had been turned down for the night. Nothing major- just small details.

The little details. Our bags carried to our room. A personal letter in our room. Relaxing and comfortable. Food fabulous The spa is beautiful but staff not paying attention to detail as guests arrive. Used towels left laying around, and no clean towels were available.

We had a fantastic meal on the Sat night. The grounds were beautiful and the facials we had were very nice When we arrived our room was not set up as a twin as ordered online. The staff in the bar/restaurant were way too formal and stuffy making it not very relaxing. The breakfast in the morning we had eggs benedict... the plate was cold and the food was cold. The hollandaise sauce was too vinegary. The room was fine but an explanantion about the switch system for the bathroom would have been helpful as we were peeing in the dark as couldn't work out how to turn on bathroom light !

The hotel is maintained to an excellent standard. The staff could not do enough to help during our stay. The only thing i would say is that we asked for an iron and the one provided had a worn cable and spat out bits of calcium which went onto both my shirt and my partners dress. Hopefully not causing lasting stain. So a new iron and one of a better standard would have been required. However this said all in all an excellent stay Please see above

We had a wonderful weekend at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and went that extra mile with service. We were only disappointed that there were no spa treatment times available during the weekend, as we had not booked this in advance. The room, although lovely, was in need of some repainting, lots of mould in the bathroom and paint peeling.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The night front of house was invaluable in helping us arrive at the hotel late at night as the sat nav takes you down a very small private country lane. (Perhaps you should suugest sat nav to the big tesco then give directions as the front of house did? This was much easier) there were a few orders that we placed ( drinks orders) that took some considerable time to come to the spa- however, once alerted, the manager (Sakis) took the order himself and brought it to us personally with apologies.this was a very nice touch. The decor of the hotel and spa is incredible. Just as my wife and I like. We have recently been to Morroco so we could see the influences and loved it. The cost of the food was very good value for money. However, the cos of beverages was a little high despite it being a spa hotel breakfast was incredible!! -Great choice and really good quality I think that you cannot advertise a gym as a facility. It would be more accurate to describe 'an exercise room that has apparatus including' I say this as the free weights were very limited as was the space required to perform any exercises not involving the cardio machines. I would have preferred a weight bench or cable stand negating the free weights and allowing much greater diversity of exercises for muscle trianing. Parts of the hotel were a little scruffy and there was some cob webs from here to there. I accept this as part of being in the country and trying to keep the insects at bay I would have preferred an option for suitable replacement of the goose down quilt and pillow. They were so lovely to rest our heads in but are not suitable for guest with asthma or allergy to dander. This was not highlighted when we ooked. We were fine as we had our medications but it could have spolit our stay.

The staff were friendly. At check-in, the receptionist gave us an hotel tour before showing us to our rooms (how many hotels bother to do that?). The hotel decor was 'shabby chic' with a mix of old and made-to-look-old, which we liked but our friends thought looked a little too shabby in places. Our room (Secret Garden) was lovely with a small outside seating area and had nice touches like a cafetiere with ground coffee, robes and slippers for wearing in the spa and a turn-down service. Great breakfast. Very relaxing visit. Dinner is nouvelle cuisine style so was quite expensive for the portion sizes but was obviously made with good quality ingredients. The chicken dish we had seemed a little dry but it wasn't helped by having few vegetables (nouvelle cuisine again) to eat it with. It looked very arty though :-) Other dishes we had got 10 out of 10.
