We were visiting friends and Bants was conveniently located to them. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The room was pleasant and clean but because we were having a particular cold snap it took a little time to warm up. Breakfast the following morning provided plenty of choice and was of a high standard. We had a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Good food, friendly staff. Room very small and hot. Could only open the one small window about 4in, probably because of safety reasons. No doubt very cosy in winter.

Staying in a very well converted barn building with a friendly pub/restaurant attached. Room was a bit small, but that was really part of the charm.

Our stay was quiet, easy to locate, with friendly, helpful staff and fabulous food. The twin room was a little small for two people, with little room around the beds, door ways and bathroom.

The food is very very good, menu choice and quality excellent. Clean and well furnished rooms Disappointing that we had to ring for the pub to be opened up half an hour later. We were the only people staying but were not offered an upgraded room. Although finished to a high standard, our room was the smallest double room we have ever slept in and, being in the eaves, was very hot - it would have been unbearable had it been a warmer day. We were told we could not have dinner later than 8.00 p.m. which was disappointing as we had previously booked for 8.30 - generally didn't feel particularly welcome, although the landlord was very friendly and helpful about other places to dine in the area. Breakfast was very good, but, if you wanted fruit, this was instead of cooked food. A shame really.

The husband of the couple that ran the hotel was extremely pleasant, polite, helpful and welcoming. It was also great value for money...at less than fifty pounds it was a real bargain. The hotel room was cosy and made great use of the space. The wife of the couple that ran the hotel was rude, abrasive and very difficult. It was a shame as her husband was such a nice man. She made us feel like we didn't want to return there in the future.

The staff were extreemily friendly and eager to please. The food was of an excellent standard (but not over generous in portion size for a main course.) The room was a very good size and comfortable with period character. The dining room was pleasant and airy with good service. The car parking was ample. The downstairs seating area was very comfortable. The bathroom had cobwebs. One of the 4 ceiling lights in the bathroom was missing and the other was flickering when switched on. The T.V. in the bedroom was poor quality (Alba) with a small screen (12 inch) and was too far away from the seating area to be viewed comfortably. No mirrors in the bedroom or surfaces for cosmetics etc. The blind covering the roof window was ill fitting. Only full fat milk offered at breakfast.

Excellent breakfast - and I would imagine dinner would also be very good. Very friendly and courteous staff. Didn't mind the room being small or on the road (knew this in advance) but shower is in need of replacement or at minimum - repair. It lets the room down a lot.

“The location was excellent as we travelled by train, Foregate St station is about 50 yrds away. The fact it had a pool and sauna ws great after a hard days shopping in the excellent Christmas market. Room was full of space and the double bed was large and comfortable. The Special £20 set menu for Christmas including a glass of wine nd three courses was excellent value ( Cranberry Sauce was delicious ) Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will probably come again for the market next year.” Peter, West Wickham. Kent |
