Fantastic hosts and a breakfast that sets you up for the day!
Clean, spacious accommodation, location good however, too far from Pickering to walk along narrow, unlit lane of an evening.
Breakfast requires attention - inconsistency in quality of cooking.
Loved the informality of the place, the owners were friendly and accomodating , the animals were fun.Excellent breakfast.
Couldn't find anything to not like...
Individual room with our own front door. The setting and its peacefulness. The friendly staff and excellent breakfast. It was a real escape.
Friendly helpful owners, very easy to take my dog
Rural location, but with easy access to moorland scenery and many sites of cultural interest. Friendly proprietors, and inquisitive chickens! Comfortable room, with complete privacy.
Bumpy access road.
they had a kiddies playground which was lovely. Staff were really lovely - very helpful and friendly. great breakfast clean fresh linen and soft and fluffy towels
we got given the smallest room and the spiders in the country are huge!!!
Location was excellent, staff (owner) terrific and very helpful, breakfast was excellent and the facilities for the kids were great too.
Bed was huge but not comfortable for me (this is a personal preference and not a criticism).
Location good to access top north Yorkshire attractions! Friendly warm welcome made you feel at home. Nice generous breakfast.
Room good but looking tired.

Large Breakfasts Lack of other people
The individual outdoor entrance to each room.
Friendly staff and owners. Beautifully aired. Peaceful location. Position of sockets near mirrors so you could dry your hair! Small fridge useful. May bring the dog next time.
Light outside room didn't work so quite dark to see where to put the key.

Location and facilities
Owners Grounds Breakfast
Almost everything. The building we stayed in was lovely, clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, towels, luxury toiletries and tea/coffee/hot chocolate, etc. There was a TV in each of the 2 bedrooms, as well as the living/dining area, and all had dvd players. The thermostat actually worked (we notice they don't, in many hotels!) and there was a nice selection of dvds (for adults and children--impressive!) available to borrow from reception. The breakfast was excellent the next morning, with good quality ingredients and generous portions. The outside play area was unexpectedly pleasant--pool table, table tennis, slide and swings and seesaw for the kids, plus space to run around in--and it was in a very peaceful, naturally beautiful setting. We only booked one night because my children don't always settle very well in new surroundings, but actually, they loved it there. If we go back, we'll definitely stay longer.
No availability for cash withdrawals or pre-made food onsite, and the male owner(?) refused our request of charging an extra to our (already accepted and used for payment) card and giving us cash. He first refused on the grounds that we might be scammers (!!!) and then admitted that he just didn't want to pay the service charge for using our card; a moot point, as we would gladly have paid £30 to be able to get £20 (we were exhausted, *and* our car had refused to start earlier that day; we just wanted a take-away!). His wife(?) and the facilities were so nice, we might go back in spite of his attitude! (And one more, minor point--we'll also bring extra bedding, since when one of my children had a toileting accident through to the mattress protector, we couldn't find spare sheets and wound up remaking the bed by putting spare towels underneath the sheet from our bed, in case of further mishaps!)
It does what it says on the tin!
The two routes to access the farm from the main roads are tortuous, narrow and have a poor surface and indeed are a fair distance to travel. Though we didn't need to apply them, the terms and conditions regarding cancellation are onerous and had we read them before booking we would probably have looked elsewhere. Have they had a lot of trouble with cancellations?
Settee in our bedroom.Such a well appointed bedroom. A light and airy conservatory for breakfast.
Having to wait for anyone to register and get into our room.
Great owners, space for children and outdoor play area. Also covered area with games great. Friendly chickens roaming. Good position for touring.
We liked our rooms, the surrounding gardens were lovely. The children loved the climbing frames, out door games and the alpacas!
All was good apart from a very squeaky bed!
