James,
Round Hill, Va
The Barkston Garden Hotel is close to London's lively Earl's Court, located in an attractive square with a view of the grounds. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in public areas. Built around 1900 in the traditional London terrace style, it still keeps much of its original charm. Being only 2 minutes' walk from Earl's Court Underground Station, it is just minutes from the heart of London's exciting West End. The major Exhibition Centre of Earl's Court is only a short walk away, and Hyde Park is just over a mile from the hotel. Hotel Rooms: 93, Hotel Chain: Cairn Hotels.

The room was clean and good size. In addition the hotel is in a great location, close to the Tube and the other amenities close in Earl's Court road. The TV was old and showing only 5 channels

Location is very good: tube station is very close, city centre just a few stations away, nice area plenty of shops and restaurants. The hotel has large hall and rooms, with high ceiling and large windows. Staff is friendly and helpful. In the room, the carpet had stains, windows needed some new paint.

The price and location. The pest control boxes in the bedroom and bathroom although I didn't see any pests! The light over the basin did not work.

The location was very convenient. The hotel is a bit shabby, especially the carpets which were very worn and unappealing. The floor in our room was very creaky.

The location was really very good, honestly steps from the Tube station (and thus the rest of London) and the Exhibition centre was just around the corner, the main reason for our visit. Breakfast was also really good. Other reviews make out like the floor is really really loud but I didn't even notice, maybe it depends on which room you get? The only thing I can think of is that I bought some things, candys ect from the exhibition and the room was very hot (there is a fan so that isn't a problem for people) but there was no fridge so everything pretty much melted or went off really quickly :s

Clean. Location good for Earls Court tube. Inclusive continental breakfast good. Good sized room but "Double" bed very narrow and bathroom needs some attention. TVs need updating - I haven't seen such an old TV with only 5 stations in a hotel for years!

It's definitely a simple, nice and quiet hotel, particularly suitable for budget stays for family or business travellers who prefers it without the fanciful frills and thrills. It's smacked right in the middle of a bountiful of restaurants, pubs, convenient stores and the best of all, it's so near to Earls Court tube station. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room I stayed was clean, bathroom and toilet were spacious and the wireless Internet was excellent. At certain parts, the floors were squeaky and therefore, walking or even little movements may cause some distubance to others. The TV channels were limited to five and could have done more for variety. The breakfast buffet spread provided lacked variety. More could be done by adding in sausages, eggs, omelette and salads.

Very good location close to subway (Picadilly line), reasonable price, good breakfast for English standards Minor points are: rooms are outdated, bad sound isolation (you can hear your neighbours talk or walk around). Nothing dramatic though

The hotel is only a minute away from many shops and bars, including Marks and Spencer. Earl's Court tube station is only a two minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast selection was very good and the room was comfortable and quiet. The ceiling light in the room was very dim (not helpful if you need to do work in there!) and the smell of cleaning products was overwhelming on first entering the room (not good for asthmatics!). The window could only be opened partially because it was blocked by the radiator.

Location is very good for West London. Immediate impression a bit shaky as foyer needs a facelift. The bedroom a nice surprise as corridors, carpets etc are very tired. Room and bathroom comfortable and spotlessly clean. I booked a 'single' and received a spacious room with a double and a single bed. Asked for a room change as my first allocated room was beside the lift, and had no problems changing to an equally nice room, very quiet, at the rear of the hotel on the ground floor. Receptionist very efficient and handled things nicely. My booking authorisation had been taken twice from my bank, and she corrected this immediately. Will stay there again. No complaints - good value for money at £99 for a 'single' occupancy room.

One of the best things re- the Barkston gardens hotel, is he ease of geting to it, and its position for using Earls Court Tube station, the many and very varid resturaunts, pubs, and bars in the vicinity, banks, post ofice and good bus routes, are all with in a very short walking distance.and the staff, all the staff have a good knowledge re- the area and will help you as much as they can, all are very helpfull, and cheerfull, and most of them seem to have been there a very long time, so know the routines well of the area. As I have said on the hotel quetionairs that the bar area is a very pleasent area, and good for meeting people (Work colleagues) but is far to bright and is uncomforatble to sit in, so the hotel does loose a lot of revenue here, as most people to meet and socilise in the Blackpird pub next door. but I have no other complaints and would recomend the hotel to anybody, and I stay there at least two or three times a year

room quiet and large. The interior of the hotel is quite old and needs to be renovated. The bathroom was not comfortable, very old, old sink with 2 different taps for hot and cold water, not very comfortable!! Breakfast quite cheap.

Location First of all, there was no heating in the rooms: not in the bedroom, not in the bathroom. When I asked if this could be looked into, the hotel staff just added a small electric portable heating device. The rooms being with very high ceilings, this was useless. Plus, there were no plugs in the bathroom, so the bathroom remained freezing. Even for a three star hotel, during January this is totally unacceptable. We had to sleep with our coats on. Do not book this hotel!!!!

This hotel is undergoing refurbishment but noone informs you of that when you book! It could be marvellous -lovely building and great square, quiet and near the tube but ...... So-called double room was miniscule, no central heating because of refurbishment, so the choice of boiling or freezing, counterpane filthy, bathroom floor idem and spider webs on ceiling, - most disappointed as have had some great deals from booking.com before. I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone in its present condition and certainly not at the rates they are charging - 100 pounds for a filthy cupboard.

The location to the earl court tube station, this station is perfect if you are wanting to see the city, it connects to the many lines that can get you anywhere in the city. The location was also in a nice area and didn't fear wallking the streets alone in the evening. The staff was helpful when I needed walking directions they would print off google maps and give it to me so I knew where I was going. And the wait staff were friendly in the morning for breakfast. I would return The water pressure in the shower, but I was still able to wash.

Although it was clearly mentioned that that there would be no refurbishment works throughout the festive season, there was quite a lot of noise throughout the 29th and the 30th of December.I Found this irritating and the hotel's description quite misleading..
