Staff happily changed our room to a more comfortable room. The first was dated and small. The breakfast was as always amaizing. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Some rooms are very dated and need a refurbe.
For the second night we were located to a different room, slightly larger and with a far more comfortable bed. I have frequently stayed at this venue as it is very close to the Ruislip Underground Station. However I will think twice about rebooking if I can't get a satisfactory room location!
First night, very disturbed night due to a defective bathroom fan that ran noisily all night. Coupled with the incredible noise from next door's bathroom. Whether it was a Jacuzzi Bath or Power shower I don't know. Suffice to say we were subjected to 20 minutes of late night loud motor noise, coupled with ancillary noises of the person's bathroom use! The night duty manager was unable to assist and left a note for morning staff. He even rang back 20 minutes later to see if things had quietened - it hadn't. For an uncomfortable night on a clapped out mattress I was uncompensated but managed to get transferred to a different room.
good welcome friendly staff size of room good breakfast toiletries/tea/coffee/etc lovely bathroom
access to room (5) via uneven stairs step down into room (through low door) access to bathroom difficult if over 5'4" also problem if not very mobile (we found reversing out was a bit easier)
We were not happy with our tiny room. I requested a room (room was booked on line) in the Denes new building which is where we stayed last year. I was told that I had booked a standard room but we did last year and stayed in the Denes for the same price as we paid last year £95.00 plus breakfast. I spoke to reception who said all the rooms were gone in the Denes and plus they were around £140.00. We were not happy with the room we had it was far too small and would have been happy to pay a bit extra for the one we had last year. nobody took the trouble to get back to me and ask/advise that my request for those rooms were more expensive and be given the option to decide if we wished to take it. very unhappy indeed. we were with a group for new years dinner organised by Mr John MCcafferty.
The staff were exceptional particularly in Hawtrey's restaurant. The food was amazing and the room we stayed in very clean comfortable and warm. The bed was very comfortable which is often a problem in some places that we have stayed at. So well done to all of the staff team you really helped to make our 3 day stay very memorable.
Nothing to say.
Individually controlled heating Good bathroom
We stayed on New Years eve and consequently had breakfast on the bank holiday. I have stayed many times before and enjoyed an individually cooked full English breakfast but unfortunately there was only a buffet and whilst advertised as full English it certainly wasn't plus I was charged £11.95 instead of the £10.50 shown on the menu. Room small Keys to annex and room archaic
Garden room was comfortable and it was a lovely setting for NYE
The curtains in the room didn't shut properly which was annoying.
Modern comfort in tastefully extended old farm buildings. Pretty grounds with lawns, pond, trees, making an almost rural setting very close to the tube. .
Staff were excellent Discount on checkout for issues with room, apart from that would recommend to anyone
No king size bed in superior room and TV not working in bathroom.
Senior Receptionist much much better. Breakfast sstaff very efficient
Bar Staff never there
The cutlery was dirty at breakfast and had to wait 15 minutes to sit down.
This hotel is in a lovely location with an oldie worldy feel. Still has barn features and the gardens are fabulous. The rooms are in outbuildings which really adds character. Staff were welcoming and polite. I got a really good value deal for what we got. Room was clean and comfortable, well furnished. All in all an escape away within a romantic setting.
The bathroom was a bit tired and could do with replacing and retiling. There was something wrong with the waterworks and the noise of the plumbing was on and off all night.
Loved the bathroom
The curtains in the danes suite bathroom were ripped
Convenient location.staff helpful & polite.
Thought the bathroom needed a bit of TLC, the basin taps very wobbly. The table could have done with a mirror as far as ladies concerned.
Hotel well enough located to my place of work and feels safe. Restaurant providing good dinner and breakfast.
Size, layout and lack of comfort of the bedroom and very compact bathroom arrangements with a poor shower.
Convenient location next to Ruislip tube, short walk to Ruislip High St with a few excellent restaurants.
Good location , homely feel
Late night bar staff were rude and wouldn't serve residents .
afternoon tea and the caring staff nothing was too much trouble
nothing it was a lovely experience
although the hotel is right next to the underground station,it was very quiet. We had a lovely room at the end of oneof the barns with 4 windows so was nice and light. Bathroom was on the small side but had a superb shower. Easy trip into town on tbe metropolitan line. All in all was superb.
The ensuite was excellent with a Jacuzzi bath and a separate shower. It was very clean. There were plenty of toiletries and tea and coffee etc. The staff were very helpful and polite. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Can't think of any dislikes.
Proximity to London by tube. Food excellent.Service good - staff very friendly.
Couldn't have afternoon tea in lounge as full of wedding guests
Location and room.
Limited breakfast time. 9.30 finish far to early and very unusual. Missed breakfast as a result having paid for it. Wouldn't return because of this.
Initial thoughts were not favourable as I found it difficult to locate my room and again finding my way back to reception. However the room was pleasant & comfortable. Breakfast was a surprise, it was freshly cooked and good. Breakfast room was very pleasant and a comfortable lounge close by
Initial thoughts were not favourable as I found it difficult to locate my room and again finding my way back to reception was incredibly frustrating. Net curtain in bathroom was very dingy
The buildings, especially as they had been left as near original as possible, the sympathetic décor, the friendly staff, the lovely dining room and reception areas.
Our room was quite small and I was pleased we weren't booked in for longer! My sons room next door however was ok.
