The friendley and attentive staff could not have done any more to make my stay enjoyable. The food was also first class and the restaurant and bar setting cosy. I'ts proximity to the local tube station make it an ideal hotel for a Wembley (10 mins) or a West End (35 mins) theatre break.

Room was nice; good selection of tea/coffee and toiletries. Staff were pleasant Shower was bad and my wife had to stand in 6 inches of bathwater to wash due to a recent knee op. Breakfast disappointing and insufficient noise insulation from upstairs room

It is an oasis in the middle of suburbia. Very friendly and helpful staff. However, on this occasion the information we gave booking.com requesting wheelchair accessible room was not interpretted by the hotel staff and our first night (knowing the hotel was completely booked up) we had to rearrange the furniture in order to gain wheelchair access. When we informed the staff the next morning we were immediately transferred to another room for our next nights stay.

The hotel and room were immaculate and the staff were so friendly and helpful Tiny criticism that the room only had one mirror in the bathroom making it difficult when needing to style hair as I couldn't do it in front of a mirror

I only liked location as it was near my parents house. The room was OK but the bathroom very poor. Loads of complaints with it and I did complain to the manager. I have stayed here before but in an executive room which is very different. Will definitely not be staying again. Would prefere to stay at premier inn beside The Orchard.

Due to lack of available hotel rooms in central London I chose to stay at the Barn Hotel because it was so close to the Metropolitan line into the city. Pricing was also very competitive and the room and overall atmosphere of the hotel was excellent. Nothing really.

It has great character and in a good location for our needs. The walls and ceiling are very thin. We have stayed here twice now and been woken up during the night and early in the morning by creaking floor boards accentuating every footstep and people's conversations through the walls. Other guests needs to be mindful that the rooms are not sound proof and be more considerate to other guests whereby the rooms need thicker walls. Coupled with the beds being small for a double, we won't be staying here again as we have not managed a good night's sleep. It's a shame as the location is perfect for us and the buildings are pretty but good looks aren't getting us a good night's sleep. We did mention the noise to the receptionist who apologised. Whether she fed this back to the manager, we do not know.

Quite small room, tiny en-suite with hairs in the bath! Sound proofing between rooms was terrible. Couple in room above kept us awake all night with noise. Table in dining room had crumbs all over it when we sat down for breakfast.

We stayed in a wonderful 16th century conversion. Small, but with lots of character. Four poster bed was a lovely surprise :-)

We enjoyed the old British style architect both inside and out. Afternoon tea is great. I wish there is more varity of breakfast (since we stay 4 nights), and we wondered why different rate on the same side of (the front) old building with booking 3 days apart. Room is a bit small and inconvenient to go up stairs with two big luggages, especially for those tourists like us coming from abroad.

Location is great 2 minute walk to the tube. Leaking shower from room above. Very noisy could here everything from room above including conversions. This hotel has no additional sound proofing. Not very child friendly had to wait 40mins for food.

The location is just right for us to meet our friends. The room door and side door windows did not have net curtains up, when people passed by they could look straight into the room, all the other times we have stayed at this hotel the net curtains were in place on the rooms we had to give you a bit more privacy.

Good food and service. I was offered an upgrade but declined, however the Deans lodge rooms are very nice (have stayed in one before). The other outside rooms are adequate and apparently are being upgraded in the near future

The peaceful atmosphere. Surroundings....website did not do the hotel justice.......after checking in and going to our room my 9 year old son stated......'This is brilliant Dad.....it's like going on an adventure!!!' At this point we were walking along a short path across a grassed area with large pond and shrubs to one of the detached buildings .......it was idealic.........much better than just walking through a maze of the usual hotel corridors that are normally encountered!! All staff at the hotel were very polite and friendly... The actual room was excellent.......great size tv ....Massive bed! Breakfast was excellent.......this is a hotel to suite all! O close to transport and local high Street facilities (5 minutes walking distance) My only small dissappointment was that the hot water was not hot for me to have a proper shower (after my wife had already had a hot one) when we first arrived...the water turned cold during my sons shower... The water was however very hot the next morning! The decor in the ensuite was a little neglected..................

Stayed here just for the one night as it was my birthday weekend and were meeting up with friends to go for meal out in Ruislip. The Barn Hotel has a nice luxurious and relaxing feel to it - the rooms were very well kitted out with big flat screen telly with compact but smart bathroom. Had a drink and snack in the bar area - has a very nice menu and also serves afternoon cream teas :) We spent and extra £3 to have breakfast in our room which was a great service to have. Would highly recommend to stay here, whether it be for a relaxing break, or to get into London as is a 2 min walk to Ruislip Station. Would definately stay here again :)

Excellent location very near to tube to London. Quiet, no noise from other rooms, pretty grounds and nicely furnished Dining Room and Lounge . The mattress was very soft, apart from that everything was excellent value for money.

It was just the job! It was exactly as described on the blog. It was the excellence of the staff that turned this hotel from adequately average into somewhere that you look to book again.

“The reception staff were all very friendly and could't be more helpful. Clare, in particular, understood my reasons for staying e.g. my daughter was expecting a baby any day and I could not be certain about how long I would be staying. I liked the degree of flexibility - she managed to book me in for an extra day and I was able to stay in the same room. I have never stayed in a Premier Inn before and as a result of my expereince at the Premier Inn in Ruislip I will definitely stay in one again. I would not hesitate to stay the Ruislip one again with my husband when we visit our family in Uxbridge. The room was spacious and comfortable with everything needed for a short stay. Additional milk and coffee was also available from reception. It was reassuring for a woman staying on their own to know that reception staff, or a night porter, were on duty 24hrs of the day. Room security was also very good. Thank you!” Shirley, Wiltshire |
