The water was turned off no fault of yours but u should ave offered bottle water especially to a kidney patient the following day all day water cloudy so u drinkable
Water problems so I went home on the Friday returned sunday water on but cloudy one of my party said this happened to her a few years ago could not get tp ready to go out
Excellent location Well stocked bar Value for money food availible in the bar or restaurant newly refurbished rooms
The only thing that was disappointing was the weather but this is out of the hotels control
We loved the view of a windswept but sunny Rutland Water from our bedroom. Enjoyed a very hearty and excellent breakfast in the superb dining room and generally agreed with the rest of our party ( three doubles booked) that we would return for longer next time. (Might try the lodge facilities - look equally interesting- what a complex and setting!)
There was a lot of noise from the other guests close to our room, both in the evening when they came back from the bar and again in the morning for breakfast, which spoilt our stay, but other than that it was excellent
Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and surroundings, leisure facilities good. Fantastic meal in the dining room in the evening. Breakfast first class and service excellent. All staff very friendly and helpful
Booked two double deluck rroms and was a little disappointed that our friends room (which was next door) was a lot more specious than ours but it was only for two nights so didn't ask to change
restaurant waitress/waiter staff outstanding; location brilliant; rooms clean and standard;useful info in literature; overall very good value
parking could be difficult; early finish to dining in restaurant in evening (8.50 pm last orders!)
Lovely settings, great facilities and my daughters family room was a superb size room and a very modern well presented bathroom. Generally a very nice stay. Thank you
my bedroom was small and needed updating.
We could not fault the staff or the restaurant facilities. It is in beautiful surroundings and is a wonderful place to have a short break.
Our room overlooked a brick wall which was also a public walkway so we could not open the windows n had to leave curtains shut. Also lots of stairs. Our room could not be changed as none was available. Such a shame!
Everything excelled. Top breakfast, worth visiting Stamford , riverside cafe and cosy club for evening meal.
Excellent attitude and friendliness of every member of staff we encountered . Fantastic location and very fast wifi
Decor was a bit dated and access was limited so quite a few steps to negotiate
Location; facilities; breakfast; atmosphere.
The first room we were offered was poor - very small, dark, sloping roof which isn't ideal for tall guests and there was only a shower when a bath was included in the description. The second room we were offered was much better; though unfortunately was too warm and we couldn't adjust the temperature. We had to sleep with the windows open and even then it was very hot.
Location, price, breakfast and room was comfortable. Location is stunning. If i was on a leisure stay i would say it was excellent.
Some rooms are getting a little dated. Being picky, I had to move room because of a very unplesant smell in original room but the change was dealt with in an efficient manor.
The location was perfect. Even though my husband cannot walk far, we managed several short walks from the hotel to the water, and thoroughly enjoyed this. The food was excellent, and all the staff were knowledgeable , smart and helpful
I can honestly say that was nothing we did not like. However, a more varied evening menu in the restaurant would be good, and also a bit more thought in the bathrooms for people who are limited in their mobility.
The location is great
Rooms are quite small and there is no bath
Very friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant location. Excellent sports and leisure facilities.
Our room was a bit on the small side but it still represented decent value for money.
Great Room, good food, fine selection of wine and ales. Plenty to do for a good relaxing weekend away.
Restaurant was fully booked on our first evening due to a wedding function, We weren't informed ahead of booking or even at point of checking in.
The location and look of the hotel was amazing and just what we needed for a wedding we were attending in the Edith Weston suite on site. The bathroom was smart and had been refurbished recently; the shower was nice and hot.
We asked for a travel cot in our room and on check in, the receptionist confirmed it was there. However, it wasn't there and housekeeping brought it up soon after. The room decor was quite dated and needs a refurb as it's all looking quite tired. Bed was soft, no controls for the heating and the room was very hot! Overall it was overpriced for what we got.
Lovely clean room, with balcony and wonderful views. Staff friendly when you met them. Barnsdale Gardens and Rutland Water walks/cycling on the doorstep.
Soul-less, because of spread of facilities at differing levels, and 'canteen-style' serving of breakfast. 'Conference' feel would be good, if that was your purpose, or for a family gathering/wedding, but not for leisurely break.
The staff were very helpfull, the facilities fantastic and the location was wonderful. We have no complaints.
very hilly on site
Location and hotel facilities excellent. Easy to find and staff really helpful and polite.
Bed really uncomfortable and too small for a couple considered average height.
Location, price, breakfast
Misleading impression -thought this was luxury accommodation in Grand Hall as photographed in advertising. Instead, the Grand Hall building for us was reception nly. Most accommodation is in surrounding annexes which were comfortable but modern, mid-range in terms of furnishings. The restaurant/bar complex was in a separate building and was middle of the road, though clean and satisfactory. Had it rained, we would have been soaked going from bedroom to breakfast. Ideal if on a walking, leisure break, but not if seeking a luxury experience.
Relaxing atmosphere, fabulous food, superb views over Rutland Water and beautiful gardens.
view and facilities were excellent staff were very helpfull, we looked at reviewes before we went and to be honest we were very pleased with our ovarall experience
the decor needs an update, but it was clean and the bathroom had just been refurbished so that made up for the decor
