Near to the A1 and near to Rutland Water. The food and staff were excellent From the photo, this looked to be an old country house hotel. We ended up staying in the lodges around the back of the main house which were like a holiday camp. Clean but very 80's decor and not what we were expecting! |

Relaxing in a well kept and maintained hotel, with a friendly atmosphere created by helpful staff , .Choice of bar snack or restaurant menu - good quality food.Good sized swimming pool. Proximity to Rutland Water as I have recently taken up cycling as a hobby. Double bed dipped in the middle slightly, not too good for sufferers of bad backs. |

Beautiful location with plenty to do in the area. Gardens were imaculate and staff very friendly and helpful. Room and bed very small compared with other hotels but to be fair we were warned in the brochure about this.We would pay for a better room if we went again There was a general lack of comfortable lounge areas to relax in. Huge number of stairs and steps. We were glad we hadn't taken elderly relatives with us. |

The view of Rutland water and the breakfast was great. There were at least 2 weddings being held at the hotel over that weekend and many people came down for the buffet breakfast and the restaurant staff were very good and attentive. The room was very dated and we stayed because it's the wedding reception venue. Very poor value for money and the facilities in the room were old and could do with updating. We did not get a view of the water. The gym/pool was rather busy and changing room was wet and dirty. |

The hotel is perfectly situated for Rutland Waters and the environs. It was perfect for us and the size of the room was excellent. We had a view of the water and plenty of room. It was very quiet at night. The staff were friendly and considerate. We were very happy with our stay and thought that many of the comments on the website did not accurately reflect our experience. The swimming pool was just OK. For family fine but if I went for a spa break I think I would be quite disappointed. The lighting was very strange! |

We asked for a room with a view of Rutland Water and were pleased that our room had a view and a balcony. The parking was rather tight on Saturday night. |

Gorgeous, secluded location on the shores of Rutland Water. Good facilities on site, no need to leave the resort complex. Isolated from nearest town, but not too far to travel. Room was comfortably appointed, and a good size. Newspaper delivered to the door. Breakfast was unspectacular, but plentiful. |

The location is fantastic and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We were a faily of four and there was plenty for us all to do. There was no centrality! The main reception area was nice but everything far from it. Leisure Centre was nice but not as atmospheric. |

The staff were very polite and friendly- couldn't fault them. We were unhappy with the view from our windows. Our room looked out on a whitewashed wall, running about a meter from the window. When I asked for a better view we discovered that there are no views with any standard double room. We were a little dissapointed with this. |

I enjoyed the setting of the hotel, the well-maintained grounds and the peace and quiet of the surroundings. A lovely place to visit for a weekend to relax, walk use the pool and spa facilities. The meals we had were very good. The rooms were well-equipped and spacious and the rooms in the main historic building were particularly nice having been recently refurbished as the decor was inkeeping with the history of the building. I did not like the badly stained basin in Room 505 |
