In landscaped grounds overlooking the beautiful Rutland Water, Barnsdale Hall Hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, a bar, restaurant and recreational facilities available including a heated indoor pool. Nice friendly staff, good value, i have stayed here several times and would recommend it. We had a lovely steak bar meal as well, really nice and again good value.

We were upgraded for as small fee on arrival and had a lovely room (509) originally give 512 which wasnt rice as it looked out onto a wall. Rutland water needs to be seen and I think room prices should be alot lower in rooms without any view or a very poor one. I think you ought to have a bar and some restaurant facilities inside the main building..It lacks a bar for evenings after you meal. I think space is there in the lobby area to the left for a small bar as there is already a nice sitting area there.

The main building is superb and the setting is breathtakingly beautiful. The restaurant and bar were a big disappointment. They are completely out of out of character with the main building. More like a modern golf club setting. Poor menu and poor wine list.

Beautiful views. Stunning building Well kept beautiful grounds/gardens Good size room Easy of access to spa and activities Traffic noise from main road - quite loud from our balcony. Not enough tea/coffee/milk in room - other hotels and even B&B's have realised guests want more than 2 small hot drinks in a24hr period.

The views from the ballcony, the gardens, and breakfast. No traffic noise. Car parking far away from the accomodation. The bed was very small, the type found in a showroom house to exaggerate the size of a room.

We loved the de-luxe room, which was spacious and comfortable and had a lovely view. The rooms are detached from the main building which was inconvenient. The restaurant is detached from main building and rooms which meant wrapping up in coats in April to go for dinner! The restaurant food was very average. Two of our party ordered roast trout which we both thought was actually salmon. The waiter informed us that they often get the same enquiry about the 'trout'.

Amazing facilities & setting for a great price. Staff go out of there way to help& chat with you. Lovely buffet breakie all included in the price. Totally recommend! Slight disappointment was the bed was bit old & uncomfortable ;(

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Limited bar facilities when the wedding party first arrived from church. It was a cold day and a warm drink would have been appreciated by some.

we had a family wedding and the hotel was excellent, all the staff were so professional, attentive and thoroughly pleasant throughout our stay.The breakfast was very good, catering for everyone. We would love to stay again sometime, preferable for longer. only down side for some people would be the steep steps to the Restaurant.

The setting is spectacular. The brochure and web-site do not do it justice, as it is beautifully perched on a slope overlooking Rutland Water. Location is peaceful. Service great, and not intrusive. A wedding was taking place, but we were unaware of it. Breakfast excellent. Will probably return. The pool didn't open until 8am on Sunday - we weren't the only ones waiting. 7am would be better for us early risers!
