Very friendly bar man
Lack of treating as us guests and more importantly paying customers. Left us feeling like we have your money and you want what? Someone should check anything more you need tonight as we are closing not just close. Perhaps a little customer service training is needed.
Comfortable bed. Not being charged for breakfast.
The room was very cold and needed someone to come and sort out the radiator before it warmed up. The TV remote didn't work at all despite a change of batteries and the TV picture kept breaking up. The plug sockets were very awkwardly placed for charging anything or using the kettle. Breakfast didn't start until 8am on the Sunday which was too late for me as I was working that day.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great good.
Room was right next to the lift which squeaked loudly whenever it was in use.
Resturant food was good and staff helpfull
I stayed on the 3rd floor, when arriving i thought the heating would come on as the room was cool. The first night i discovered that although i turned up the heating on the rad it did not come on at all. I complained that evening and reception said they would boost the heating, but still no heating in the room. The second night i stayed there was no heating and the room was cool, most likley relying on heat from the floors below as all the rads on the third floor corridors were cold. On the third night i arrived back in the evening to still find the room without heating but also loud hammering and scraping from the room next door. I complained to reception where the guy pretended he knew nothing about it but would investigate. After about another half an hour somebody was still working in the next room but you could tell he was trying to be quieter. It was absolutely appalling
Location - M6 Toll, M6, A5, Walsall, B'ham. Lichfield all easy to reach. Nice pub across the road (Horse & Jockey), Excellent and great value Indian (Simla) up the road. Friendly Staff Breakfast - staff fetched fresh fried eggs when she noticed they were a little old
Shower was a litle cramped Lift to 2nd floor then stairs to 3rd with a big case was a pain
Reception and public areas were very clean and plush. Clean spacious room, apart from bathroom size. Wifi excellent. Parking on site
Hairdryers electrical testing 4 years out of date, 5 hairdryers faulty before we got one that worked. Small bathroom, shower useless for family of 4 Staff never available, one housekeeper said good morning throughout our stay. No chilled drinks over the weekend, draught beer was out of order Friday. No communication between reception and restaurant, we booked and paid in full on arrival for breakfast, to be told we weren't booked in. Waited for waitress to arrive, then waited again for table to be set.
bed comfy room spacious good parking
Its a very pleasant hotel and as long as your not after excellent everything then this is the place for you. Staff, Price, Bed, Location and Breakfast Excellent. It suited me fine and I will go back again.
I didn't not like but decor a bit jaded, windows need replacing and tv wasn't tuned in so after my night out unable to watch tv but went to asleep anyway. Bitter in the bar wasn't great but drink changed for another no probs.
Reception and welcome from the staff very good the breakfast staff and service very good the hotel facilities on the ground floor good
Bedroom and bathroom old and dated stains on the carpet tired furniture TV wouldn't work properly soft furnishings curtaining looked dirty and shabby Bathroom ok but black mold all around the bath and the voile curtain didn't look very clean I booked a single room but the hotel upgraded me to a double when I got there but I was glad I only paid for the single as that's all the room was worth I stay in a lot of hotels with the business I have up and down the country I do interior design covering all aspects of the industry including Hotels mostly in the Lakes I'm involved in refurbishing The Burnside Hotel which is a Best Western in Bowness
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location suited our needs. Price was good value for money
Room was very (very) warm in the middle of winter (which we should have said something about), and not possible as in many hotels to open the window Overall the hotel (beyond the reception area) could do with freshening up
lovely room, helpful friendly staff, enjoyed my stay
Nice public areas. Pleasant and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Nice clean bathroom. Warm room and heating was easily adjustable.
Bedroom decor dated. No double glazing which made room noisy due to traffic noise and windows also very drafty. Not enough sockets to use lamps, kettle, hairdryer without unplugging other things, problematic for charging phone/laptops etc. Bathroom radiator/towel rail not working. Post code on website not specific enough to locate hotel easily with satnav.
staff, comfy bed
needs updating and little cold in rooms
The breakfast, location, parking, helpful staff
My original room on arrival hadn't even been cleaned from the first occupant leaving !. the next room was very dated and tired tbh the whole place could do with a major makeover and at the price I paid I wasn't impressed at all
The food was good & overall the hotel was reasonable value for money
Hotel in need of a refit, with most fittings fairly tatty. Service was poor in the bar & I had to keep walking through to reception to order a drink.
We have stayed here before and never been a problem - nice staff , comfortable .
Unfortunately there was a Party which we was not aware of - very noisy all night and we had a 7 week old baby with us and could not settle. Fighting in the corridors outside our room - sleepless night and had to drive back home ( 2.5 hours ) on the motorway not good when you have not had much sleep.
Great staff good room a great breakfast!
Location was fine but the hotel is a bit run down, restaurant was OK
Comfort was not good and there are too many glass marks on tables
the breakfast was good
the bedroom was not very accessible no lift to the third floor then to far to walk also having booked a twin bed room the second bed was like a camp bed which was changed after complaining
No problem with hotel, food etc.
1st night kept awake by slamming of doors from about 2 a.m. and talking. I assume by night staff. Moved my room 2nd night continual talking outside by I assume night staff. Early hours. It certainly wasn't residents. Checked out and slept on settee of relative.
Location was good. Staff friendly. Food good, however breakfast buffet a bit cool.
Grounds are like a wasteland and need tidying up. Appearances do count. Air circulation is very poor.
Really nice room and good food. Staff very helpful. Easy to find and easy to park.
Liked it all really but the location is not what one might call 'central'.
Excellent restaurant service, we arrived late but the restaurant waitress was very helpful and attentive. A most enjoyable evening meal.
Sadly the shower in our bathroom wasn't working, it wasn't mentioned on arrival and we weren't aware until needing to use the shower the following morning.
