The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. This applies both to reception staff and the breakfast staff. The hotel is very attractive with beautiful grounds and impressive communal areas. We have stayed there twice and on both occasions have had lovely rooms. This time we had the Singleton which is quite simply enormous with a four poster bed and a full suite of comfortable furniture. Last time we had the Rosedale which had recently been refurbished and had a beautiful modern bathroom. The hotel is only a few minutes away from Preston where we were visiting family so the location is convenient for us and yet is in a quiet, rural setting. I would stay again and recommend it to friends. Haven't tried the restaurant so can't comment on that. The bathroom could do with updating (I think that may be planned). The shower was difficult to operate and regulate and the bath is quite small. If I were being picky, it did say that there were local yoghurts available for breakfast and there weren't any but that is a minor point. The cooked breakfast was good.

The standard of staff attention was superb. They were friendly without being over-familar. I think every interation with a member of staff was greeted with a smile and every request met with the feeling that the staff member was pleased to be able to help. I travel extensively on business but this was my first stay at the hotel despite regualr trips to Preston. In all my travels I cannot recall a hotel where I thought the quality and attention of staff was bettered. They are an absolute credit to the hotel No trouser press in the room

Nice staff, nice and quiet in all areas of the hotel. Food menu too elaborate - no relatively plain meals

Hotel staff warm and welcoming. Had dinner in room. Was the best meal I have had as room serive in years. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. I stay in hotels at least 3 nights a week, this definately rates as a value for money hotel.

What a great hotel from when you check in they really do look after you and that's all I ask the rooms are very nice and very well fitted out. Loads of parking will be staying here every time I am in the area. And it's on Booking.com as the normal price is out of my price range from work. Great stay great staff. and some of the best looking hotel staff ever well worth it for that

The food was fabulous and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a German colleague with me who had never visited the uk before so I was looking for hotel that was "traditionally English". We both enjoyed our stay very much. Many thanks

I felt very welcome from the minute I arrived. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. My trip was for business and my stay was very comfortable. My room had an adjoining study area and with the free hotel wi-fi service it meant I could do some work in the evening. The bar/lounge area was warm and inviting. The food was very good indeed, with a great bar menu choice to suit all palates. The breakfast was made with good quality ingredients and cooked to order so it was hot and fresh. The location is a little remote and slightly convoluted to get to from the m6, but the peace and quiet night's sleep more than made up for the careful navigation required to get there. All in all I hope business takes me to that area again - just so that I can stay at Bartle Hall again. There were no leisure facilities.

Lovely location for a peaceful relaxing stay. Breakfast was excellent and catered for all requirements. Staff were very helpful and dealt with all our requests efficiently. Would definately stay again. Some staff were lacking in customer facing skills and appeared to avoid visitors.
