Well equipped and nicely furnished apartment All rooms were ensuite On arrival it was spotlessly clean
Due got he positionoftheapartment there is a lot of noise fromthe street As a Liverpudlian friend says "Liverpool never sleeps"
Location Accommodation Cost
Check-in is at a different location some way from Sir Thomas St Whopping deposit of £1500 requested for 3 bed apartment Cost of a broken glass was £100!!!! We took plastic glasses and paper plates. No lift, it's a long way to the 4th floor with luggage and provisions
Ideal for people who are fit enough for the many flights of stairs. Good sized bedrooms, well furnished and each with en- suite. Comfortable living area.
Noise from traffic prevented good night sleep. Had to have all windows open as very warm.
Good location, great view and lovely appartment
Had to pick up a key from the base office which was the other side of town. 5th floor apartment no lift. £250 deposit for each person staying took the mick ! All sorts of fines from noise pollution to smoke damaged even if smoking outside on a balcony
You get what you pay for. Redeemed themselves with quality tea and shower essentials.
Had to find the BASE office as it wasn't located in the same building as the room. The room was quite small, shower not brilliant. Above a pub, we stayed on a Tuesday night which was quiet but I can imagine a weekend stay would be very noisy.
Very central location. Loved the apartment great having the sitting dining and kitchen area providing space for breakfast, pre night out drinks etc. With the added advantage of 3 rooms set up as hotel rooms all ensuite giving us plenty of space for all 6 of us to get ready for our nights out.
Not keen on not having a lift for carrying our bags on arrival and departure. It would be good if you offered a porter service. Did not like going to separate location to pick up the keys again dragging our luggage. Again a porter service who brought the key could combat this. No air con a couple of fans would be appreciated. Wi Fi would have been great.
The gentleman on reception was extremely patient and helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
It was an extremely long walk, across the other side of Liverpool city centre to collect the keys. All of the other apartments,I have stayed at in the UK,have had a reception on site. The room had crumbs and a dirty mark on the wall near the window,as if someone had smeared food on the wall. The toilet roll holder was also hanging off the wall.I had to take pictures in case I was charged the £150 deposit. If you are only given a room then I do not see why,you have to have the funds for the deposit `frozen `on your account?I have never had this happen ,just to book a room!I would also not rate this hotel as 4* either, the carpets and walls within the entrance are grubby and the apartments are right next to a noisy pub.You cant open the windows,if its hot as the noise is terrible. Also no air con! There are better options for the same price!
very tidy clean room bathroom immaculate good city centre location friendly staff
the worst problem was simply the glass in the windows is insufficiently strong enough to block out the noise from outside and the only way to even slightly block out the noise was to close the windows completely, this however led to the room being far too hot as there was no air conditioning so you had a choice of massive noise from buses and traffic and people partying in the street until well after 4am or closing the windows and still hearing loads of noise and not being able to breathe. ear plugs are needed it may be ok for people travelling without children though, we had a small child in tow. im afraid the television provided didn't do the job as no matter what channel you watched a message saying no signal kept on appearing on the screen which was very very frustrating. perhaps the worst thing was the £150 pre authorisation deposit which was required which felt really unnecessary for although the room was immaculately clean it was hard to spot £150 worth of anything in the room, it just felt unnecessary for a couple with a child to go through this hassle, I could understand if it was perhaps a group of young fellas or women etc but it just didn't feel right having to hand over our card to do this pre authorisation, which, a;lthough it is explained never comes out of your account as it isn't a charge, but in fact, it becomes unavailable from your funds so instead of the 200 pound spending money we had we found we had 50 pound left due to this charge, it felt a bit like we had been robbed before we even got to our room and it just isn't a good feeling when you know you could simply book a room at any available hotel and not have to go through any of that aggravation.
- location - clean - spacious
- only double beds - i'd recommend it to 6-7 people not 8
Misleading we were under the impression we had booked an appartment turned out to be a very small bedroom with no facilities. When we complained were told to read the small print ,after booking and paying for an appartment never entered my head to see if the small print on the confirmation told us it wasnt an appartment ????This was located over the 2nd buisiest bus station in The city centre,as the wibdows did not shut it was so noisy we could not sleep when the buses stopped at 1am and the pub next door finished putting the empties in the bin we had 3hours to get some sleep before the 1st bus arrived at 5:45.even with ear plugs it is impossible to sleep. There is also no cleaner we had one towel each for our 5 day stay and the bins were not emptied so were overflowing, not nice in a small cramped room with nowhere to put anything, they also advise tea/coffee in room this consisted of 2 tea bags, coffee and sugar to last the whole stay, had it been the appartment we thought we were staying in this would of been acceptable since it was like a hotel room we expexted it to be refilled daily.
Quality of apartment, Location, Ease of booking, Price, Facilities, Cleanliness.
No WiFi (even though advertised), Moving beds (on wheels), Lack of free parking, Some fixtures & fittings were damaged from previous visitors, Noise at night (windows were useless at sound reduction).
Good central area to all amenities
Accessing the property at night was scarey due to drunks and homeless people lying in doorstep!! Would not recommend to females travelling solo !!!
Amazing penthouse suite. Right in the middle of Liverpool but far enough from the busiest night spots to be quiet. Great value for a shared group. Loved it.
Very new and clean. Nice to have towels, Bathroom toiletries and Kitchen tea/coffee etc provided. All furniture and fittings of a high standard.
Very noisy at night but I guess that should be expected in a city centre location - just remember earplugs! Room fans would be good for the bedrooms as very hot and unable to open windows at night due to the noise.
View from the roof was good and access into town
Parking was a street away, no lift and staying on top floor with 4 young children. No clean towels at all even though we were there 7 nights so had to wash them myself but then there is nowhere to dry them. Ensuite to master bedroom smelt awful and by the middle of the week the bathroom and bedroom became unusable. This was not fixed even though we told them about it. Had to cram 6 people into 1 bedroom and ensuite. Rubbish not removed at all and nowhere to put it so I had to put full bags of rubbish on the roof terrace which attracts the birds, not good. There are loud speakers on the roof of the met qtr across the road that go off every hour or so to scare the birds away. It is like a screeching noise and the is through the day and night and lasts about 10 minutes each time, so even though it is very hot you cannot sleep with the windows open so it could do with some air conditioning. Not enough toilet paper and they would not bring more so had to buy our own.
Nice welcome from staff
- having to check in in one building, then take a cab to a sketchy looking unmarked doorway at another address -dragging my suitcase up two narrow flights of stairs over shabby carpeting -entering a pitch dark apartment and fumbling for 5 minutes before remembering my flashlight was in my bag....though there was a light switch in the hall the LEDs overhead shed no light at all -I got zero sleep as the corner outside was noisy for much of the night. Virtually ever y bus in Liverpool rounded that corner directly outside my room. -Though I think I was expected to return my key to the check-in site....no. -Never again.
The overall feeling of staying in the apartment is good. The location of apartment is absolutely convenient for traveller
Location was great lovely apartment
We were staying on the top floor of it and it was stairs the whole way up! They had no blinds on the window so you couldn't really sleep in. The birds were so loud!! Plus we were a gang of girls and we are being charged £80 for towels because they had some tan on them (which will come out in the wash) we were only giving 1 towel each for the whole weekend. Would not stay there again!!!
The location, decor & facilities were really good. Handy for Liverpool 1, Mathew St & shopping.
The sofa bed was in the living room not the bedroom as advertised this meant that whoever was sleeping had to get up when others got up. No wifi, we wanted 2 stream music from Spotify.
Almost everything about this apartment was great. The staff were very helpful.
No A/C and no lift
The apartment was lovely
The 55 steps to the apartment with cases was horrendous!! The sofa bed was broke & 2 people paid to sleep on that .
The cost, got the room at a good price, that was the only plus point.
I should have read the comments from previous people who had stayed here. From booking on line within minutes I was contacted from Base Service Apartments. Very inconvenient to have to pick the keys up from one place then have to get to the room. The room itself was basic, the bed was of a very poor standard, moved every time you sat on it, you had to as there was no chair in the room. The shower was again very poor quality and the water pressure weak. We stayed 3 nights, no one came to replenish the room or empty bins, good job I brought tea bags and milk. The room itself was noisy from the area outside, bus stop, generator from the pub below, I would not think someone on business would enjoy staying there, being woke up from about 4am due to road sweeping machines and then the busy bus timetable from the bus stops outside the room, you had to get by with power naps until you got up at about 9am. The lighting both in the entrance area and the room itself was ver poor, no doubt to save money. I am aware that I have no doubt just reiterated what other people have wrote about the place, that said I found it hard to believe that they have the cheek to ask for £250 pre- authorised up front in case of damage!!!. I will not be staying with Base again, I would suggest reading the previous comments before staying in any of there Apartments or rooms.
Location, internal design, space, cleanliness.
Location, clean rooms
no wifi(in a pub downstairs had one), well clean rooms but in a kitchen there was small piece of glasses all over, had to clean that up at first thing we got in aN apartment. Rooms very noisy, windows are only single glassed, but didn't bothered us too much. Had to pay 1000£ deposit of two aparments, I think is way too much. Also pick up the keys is difficult, and you get only ONE, which is really nice with 6 guys...
