The Bat & Ball Inn  

Good use of old buildings.

Radiator in our room wouldn't shut down, had to open window. Room rather small.

It is a pleasant old inn set in a picturesque village but only about 15 minutes drive from Oxford. The price was good for the facilities and the food was good. For my particular requirements it suited me perfectly.

Good all round quality.

The pub connected to the Inn was lovely, had great food, wonderful locals and was very laid back. The coverlet on the bed was thick and warm.

The rooms were the smallest we'd had on our trip, and we had trouble figuring out how to turn on the light in the hall (finally got that) and the heat in the room (never did figure that out) and the toilet wouldn't flush, but we'd been having trouble flushing toilets all over the country. Just inferior plumbing I guess.

A welcoming Inn with very attentive staff. The food was lovely and very well presented.

Breakfast was very good and the staff efficient and friendly. The room was warm and comfortable.

Lack of attention to detail with regard to maintenance. The shower rail was off its runners although it still worked and one of the bulbs in the overhead light needed replacing.

Staff were very friendly, helpful & efficient. Food was excellent with a good selection. Set in rural surroundings the pub was very homely with an open log fire & perfect for cricket lovers with much memorabelia on display. Room was very clean & comfortable & was tidied daily.

Traditional but very inviting pub which was clean, friendly and just a lovely place to get back to after a day out in Oxford. Breakfast was amazing and dinner by the open fire was a real treat. Could have stayed a week!

If I was being picky I;d say the room was a little on the small side for £76 a night, didn't matter but may be worth bearing in mind when you book.

The Croucher was a good description of our room - we kept bumping our heads on the sloping ceiling! Some pattern or markings would help.

Eaten there many times (always very good) but had never stayed. Very nice room (The Croucher), warm ona particularly cold night and added to the fine food we enjoyed that night. Would recommend it and will stay again

The welcome after a long journey was superb. The food lovely even someone we met along the way reccomended the food.The hotel was cosy The bar had fantastic cricket memorabilia. All the staff were very helpful and exceptionaly kind. The bedrooms were comfortable and named after cricketers. A super place to stay
