Nice location. Didnt need to go out at night if you dont want to as restaurant etc on site. Very noisy, especially after 10.30pm and early morning from 7.00am. Feel that for the price we paid having to make your own toast in the morning was poor.Felt that there should have been more waiting on.

The Bat & Ball Inn offers comfortable rooms that are stylishly decorated. Because of it's location it was nice and quiet too. We stayed here as we were going to Le Manoir aux Quat' Saison, which is just 10 minutes down the road. The cosy bar serves decent food at very reasonable prices- and the staff are fantastic. A special mention must go to Fabiano the Bar Manager- nothing was too much trouble for him and he made us feel very welcome. Would we go back? Definitely!

We received a warm welcome and the the lovely flagstone bar was very inviting for an evening drink & meal..with pillar candles on the scrubbed pine tales giving it a great country pub atmosphere. Fun cricket theme! We booked the small double room at a discount, perfect for a quick overnight stay. The small double was fine for an overnight stopover and was discounted for this reason. Was very short of space in the bathroom only one tiny shelf. A full length mirror would have been an asset I the room.

Excellent food, accomodation, location. Attentive and friendly staff. Well presented food and lots of choice. Room size and facilities very good and in excellent condition (bed very comfy). Fantastic value for money. Good distance from Oxford ( we were collecting our daughter who has just completed her studies there). We will certainly recommend this to friends and family who wish to stay in the area and should we need accomodation in Oxford again we would not hesitate to stay here again!

Beautiful countryside and lovely village - the pub was great, the rooms are pretty small, but tastefully furnished. Regular bus (every half hr to town). Great venue for a few days.

The location was excellent, in a very rural area in a lovely village and close to Oxford. The food was very good and good value. The room was very small and quite noisy when doors banged, but there were a couple of residents who were particularly noisy. The cooked breakfast was disappointing and not cooked freshly when ordered, therefore it was only warm and a bit limp.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The only down side was the very noisy guests in the next room who insisted on slamming doors.

Exellent location for us as we were travelling from Thornhill Park and Ride to Heathrow. Lovely views. A bit of disturbance when we went to bed from the bar below our room. Suspect it was the staff having a chat after closing which is fair enogh but we really needed a good night's sleep ! Pointed out a couple of things on departure- kettle socket not working and shower door a bit precarious.

This is a lovely little pub b&b in a really beautiful, sleepy little village very close to Oxford and much nicer than staying in the city centre. We had a spacious family room and there was ample parking (although a little scary to access with a large car through a very narrow opening). A village playground was accessible through the rear of the property. It was the kind of place where everyone knows each other and the hospitality and welcome was lovely. The cricketing memorabilia is a nice unique touch. The towel rail fell off the wall and did not get fixed during our stay (which only mattered insofar as with 4 in a room you need every bit of towel hanging space you can get). A large pile of towels was left in the hall outside our door for over 24 hours (not for us as we had plenty) and the access firedoor outside our room leading to the other part of the building when left open smelt badly of cigarettes, so I ended up closing it.

Staff were very friendly, helpful & efficient. Food was excellent with a good selection. Set in rural surroundings the pub was very homely with an open log fire & perfect for cricket lovers with much memorabelia on display. Room was very clean & comfortable & was tidied daily.

We went to Le menoir for dinner and this was the perfect location for a cheaper option, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and had a welcoming touch Not really anything not to like apart from the walls being paper thin, we had a group of ladies on the first floor and we were on the second and the noise continued into the early hours, would advise to take ear plugs

Excellent rooms and facilities, very comfortable. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very good bar and resteraunt. The food was very well cooked, very good selection and the breakfast was excellent. Very good value for money. Within easy reach of Oxford for a city visit. A residents lounge area would be nice but appreciate that space was limited.

Traditional but very inviting pub which was clean, friendly and just a lovely place to get back to after a day out in Oxford. Breakfast was amazing and dinner by the open fire was a real treat. Could have stayed a week! If I was being picky I;d say the room was a little on the small side for £76 a night, didn't matter but may be worth bearing in mind when you book.

Friendly & very helpful staff. Queries dealt with immediately. The Croucher was a good description of our room - we kept bumping our heads on the sloping ceiling! Some pattern or markings would help.

Comfortable traditional english village inn. Good food, real ale and comfortable rooms. A comfortable low stress place to stay whilst on business. The bar is something of a cricket museum which adds interest and is well supported by the locals.
